Hello! I haven't posted a chapter in so long because…..well….let's just get on with the story, shall we? *laughs nervously*
Disclaimer: I do not own KHR or any of its characters. I only own Yumi.
Yumi's POV
"The tenth likes vanilla!" "No, she likes chocolate, don't you, Yumi?"
I tried to drown out the noise of Gokudera and Yamamoto's quarrel over what my favorite ice cream flavor was. It was just plain ridiculous! Who cares if my favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla or chocolate, it's neither, I like mint chocolate chip.
I sighed in relief as Namimori Middle School came into view. I stopped short and looked around. I felt like I was missing something, to my right Gokudera was ignoring Yamamoto while Yamamoto was admiring the many clouds in the sky.
It suddenly hit me, "Hey, where's Reborn?"
"I don't know."
"Who's Reborn?" Yamamoto asked.
I explained to Yamamoto that Reborn was my home tutor that was also a Hitman training me to be a Mafia Boss. He just laughed at what children played nowadays.
"I haven't seen him since yesterday. I wonder what he's up to." I tried to shake the feeling that something horrible was going to happen to me off, focusing on my watch instead.
It read 8.15 a.m.
"Guys we're late!" I took Gokudera and Yamamoto by the arm and dashed towards the school.
When we reached it, the last rings of the bell were ringing through the whole school. We made it past the gate without anyone spotting us and I sighed in relief.
When we walked into the school, the hallways were eerily quiet. I gulped and tried to make Gokudera and Yamamoto walk faster. We just needed to climb one more flight of stairs to reach our classroom.
The staircase came into view and Yamamoto and Gokudera started to drag me along, they seemed to be even more anxious than I was.
Gokudera's POV
This killing aura is seriously creeping me out. It seemed to be coming from right behind us but when I turned around, nobody was there.
I looked at that idiot Takeshi and he seemed to be sensing it too.
The tenth looked like she was completely oblivious, but she was dragging us along, so I highly doubt that she didn't feel this aura.
I took her arm and practically ran towards the stairs, dragging the tenth behind me. Yamamoto saw me and took her by her other arm.
Yumi's POV
We just needed to round this corner to reach our classroom when a girl with black shoulder-length hair stepped in front of the three of us.
I skidded to a halt and stared up at her in dread.
It was Hibari Kyoya, the president of Namimori High's Disciplinary Team. She was known for her horrible punishments whenever a student broke the rules.
Not to mention practically killed anybody who made fun of her boy-ish name.
She just stared at us, unmoving, until Gokudera muttered something under his breath.
"What did you say, Herbivore?" She asked Gokudera, giving him a death glare while raising two long stick-like objects.
'So those are the infamous tonfas.' I thought to myself, returning my attention to Gokudera and Hibari.
"I asked if you were going to let us go to class or not?" Gokudera scowled at her and tried to walk past her.
In one swift movement, Gokudera was knocked back against the opposite wall.
"Gokudera!" I shouted, panicking. Hibari was approaching him quickly, her tonfas raised for another blow.
Gokudera was just lying there, unmoving. Either he was planning a surprise attack or he was too weak to get up.
I decided it was now or ever. I ran in front of Hibari, slipping on my ring. I stood in front of her with my hands clenched into fists, flames coating them.
"If you want to fight Gokudera, you will have to get past me first." The words coming out of my mouth weren't my own, I said them instinctively.
Hibari looked taken aback for a few seconds, but regained her cold expression. "Fine, meet me at the parking lot after school tomorrow, and then we'll fight. See you there, Herbivore."
She turned and walked away, disappearing behind a corner. I sighed and took the ring off, slipping it into my pocket.
I turned to Gokudera and saw Yamamoto helping him to stand up. Gokudera just pushed him away and walked towards me. "I'm so sorry, tenth! I was unable to fight back and you had to protect me from her and now you will have to fight her. I should have been the one that she chose to fight her, not you!" He said angrily.
I sighed. Typical Gokudera, apologizing for every single thing, he was too loyal for his own good. "It's okay Gokudera, as long as you're not seriously injured.
I waved goodbye to Gokudera and Yamamoto and walking into my house, greeting my mother on my way in.
I walked up to my bedroom and jumped into bed. I sighed, what had I gotten myself into? Ever since that stupid Reborn came, I've gotten into all sorts of trouble.
Although ever since Reborn came, I've made new friends and learned how to protect myself, I guess that was the only good thing that had come out of me meeting Reborn.
I was thinking of the pros and cons of things that had happened since Reborn came when suddenly the mysterious voice told me to shift my head to my right.
I shifted it and in one millisecond, a bullet was shot right where my head was. I got up and looked around, slipping my ring on.
Reborn was sitting on my desk, Leon-turned-gun still pointed at my head. He smirked. "Your reflexes have gotten better, dame-Yumi."
He hopped off and sat next to me on the bed.
"I heard that you have a fight with the President of the Disciplinary Committee after school tomorrow." He said casually, patting Leon on his head.
I sighed, where did he get his information from?
"Yup, I have to fight the most feared pupil in the school tomorrow after school at the car park, and I'm going to die."
"I think she would make a good edition to the family. She looks like a good fighter."
"As if a girl like her would want to join a Mafia family, I highly suspect she is already in another Mafia family."
"She's not, I checked. But I think that if you defeat her, she will gain a bit of respect for you." Reborn jumped off my bed and looked at me seriously.
"I want you to train by yourself for tomorrow; I have some business to attend to." He turned around and jumped out the window, leaving me all alone.
I sighed and switched into dying will mode, the flames coating my fists burning brightly. What he meant by training was to try and stay in dying will mode for a longer period of time.
My record was only one hour, seven minutes and fifty seconds.
I lay back down and started the timer on my watch, thinking about the fight tomorrow, wishing that tomorrow would never come.
Thanks to pheonyxdragon, Hibari is now a girl! Yay!
