Don't Own.

My gosh, I've been trying to write this chapter for the last few months. Figures inspiration would hit at three in the morning, right when I'm ready to head off to bed. What I do for the imaginary alternative universe inside my head…

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy!

Dave grinned into his drink as he watched his two friends sitting across from him. They were just barely keeping up with the conversation around them as they couldn't help but shoot glances at each other.

He was happy for them; it was about time that both Aaron and Penelope found true happiness. He had been worried about Aaron for a long time, after Haley and his short, failed relationship with Beth, the older profiler had wondered if Aaron would ever be happy in his personal life again.

He had just about had a heart attack when Aaron had first walked into the bar, as he thought Penelope was about to spring her engagement with Eric on the unsuspecting man.

He had been relieved and annoyed that he hadn't figured it out, all at the same time but looking at Aaron now, he couldn't help but be happy for his friend even if he was peeved that Aaron hadn't told him anything.

He had hope for these two; he truly believed they could make it work. They were just different enough to be perfect for each other. Penelope complimented Aaron in a way that most people wouldn't see unless they really looked for it. She could keep him grounded and in return he would be her rock.

Dave watched as Penelope tugged at Aaron's shirt and discreetly nodded to the dance floor, he got the point as quick as any profiler would.

"Excuse us," Aaron said clearing his throat and getting to his feet, he held out his hand to Penelope who gladly took it "but I think we should dance."

Penelope giggled and got to her feet and allowed Aaron to lead her away.

Dave watched them go, unable to keep the smile from his face.

"Penelope looks amazing," Emily gushed as the team watched her and Aaron glide across the dance floor.

They were at the couple's wedding reception, and were all sitting at the wedding party's table.

It had been almost a year since they had announced their engagement at the bar that night. Things seemed to have moved forward in a rush but the team couldn't remember a time when Aaron or Penelope had ever been happier.

Penelope had insisted on having a fall wedding. She had explained to them how she had always loved the changing colors of the trees and the crisp, fresh feeling in the air.

Emily and JJ who had been her bridesmaids had been dressed in strapless, flowing, ruby gowns. While Jack, Dave, Derek, and Spencer wore black suits with ties that matched the color of the girls' dresses.

Penelope was by far the most spectacular of the wedding party, as every bride should be. She wore a satin, sweetheart gown, with a lace overlay that matched her mother's vintage, lace veil that Penelope had always dreamed of wearing when it came to her own wedding day.

She was beautiful in everybody's eyes, especially her groom's. When Aaron had first caught a glance of Penelope as she walked towards him, his eyes had widened. He'd never seen a more beautiful sight. Even more so when he caught the natural, rosy blush that had been on Penelope's cheeks as everyone's eyes were on her.

The wedding had been small with only their closest friends and family attending; it was an intimate group of only forty-three.

The actual ceremony had taken place outside at Dave's cabin. It was a beautiful October afternoon and they'd said their vows overlooking the lake.

Now at the reception, they were under a large white tent in the backyard, as evening fell. Dave, Jack, Emily, Spencer, Derek, JJ, Will and Henry were all sitting at one table, closest to the makeshift dance floor. They were all nodding their heads at Emily's exclamation.

"I'm so happy for them," JJ said as Will squeezed her knee and smiled.

Derek chuckled "Who would have thought? If someone had told me a year ago that we were going to be at Aaron and Penelope's wedding, I wouldn't have believed them."

The rest of the group laughed.

"And to think, this whole thing started on a dance floor, not too different from the one their dancing on now" Spencer said with a shake of his head.

"I'm glad were past that night," Emily said "I thought Hotch was going to explode when he saw how close Penelope and Eric were."

Dave sighed "I'd rather not be reminded of that."

Again the group broke out into laughter.

"Seriously, they look so sweet together," JJ said with a smile.

"Shall we?" Will asked, holding out his hand to JJ when he noticed other couples were now joining the newlyweds.

JJ grinned and took his hand.

Emily was the next up, grabbing Dave's hand and dragging him from his seat, leaving Spencer and Derek with Jack and Henry, to chuckle at the annoyed look on their friend's face.

Penelope sighed as she leaned into Aaron's embrace. Her arms were wrapped around his shoulders and her face was pressed against his neck. His arms held her tightly as they swayed calmly to the music.

Penelope was content; she never knew she could be as happy as she was at that moment. She was dancing with her amazing husband, after their amazing wedding and she now got to look forward to spending the rest of her life with him and his amazing son.

She smiled against him at the thought.

"Penelope?" the deep rumble of his voice cut through her thoughts "Are you okay?"

"I couldn't be better Mon Capitan," Penelope said with a smile in her voice as she looked up at him.

Aaron chuckled at the nickname before leaning down to place a kiss against her lips.

"On second thought," Penelope said pulling his head down for another brief kiss "now I couldn't be better."

He grinned at her before looking around, his eyes catching on something behind her.

She turned to see what he was looking at and had to hold back her laugh as she watched Strauss march onto the dance floor and inject herself between Emily and Dave.

Emily turned; shot them a mock-guilty look before smirking at wandering off to find a new dance partner.

"Erin knows Emily and Dave are just friends right?" Penelope asked.

Aaron shrugged "I would have thought so but I could be wrong."

Penelope smiled as she watched the other couple dance closely together "Maybe ours won't be the last of the BAU weddings?" she mused.

"Now don't go getting any ideas," Aaron said.

"What?" Penelope asked innocently "Couldn't you just see it now?"

He shook his head "I'm going to have to tell Dave to watch out for you aren't I?" Aaron asked.

Penelope just grinned before she interlaced her fingers with Aaron's and pulled him away from the dance floor which had gotten quite crowded. She wanted to move away from the noise, there would be plenty of time to party with their friends later that night but at that moment Penelope wanted to be alone with Aaron.

She led him out from under the tent towards the dock where the ceremony had taken place. They walked quietly hand in hand, the grass ticklish as it brushed up against Penelope's bare ankles while dry leaves crunched under their feet.

Aaron looked back towards the tent before turning to Penelope "Where are we going?"

"I just wanted to check out the dock before we lost all of the sunlight," Penelope answered.

Aaron nodded and continued to follow her.

When they reached the dock Penelope took off her heels and left them on the grass before stepping up.

Aaron raised a brow at her "Are you sure this is safe?" he asked "It's getting dark out here; I don't want you to accidently fall into the water. It wouldn't be a very pleasant temperature."

"Don't worry," Penelope said "I have no intention of falling in, we'll head back before it's too dark to see. I just want to watch the sunset."

Trusting in her, Aaron stepped up on the dock too. He took her hand again and they walked to the end, but were careful to stand a few feet back from the edge at all times.

Aaron looked at Penelope as she looked up at the sky where the sun was disappearing over the tree-line; she had a wide smile on her face.

Aaron squeezed her hand in the silence as he too watched the sun disappear.

"Today was amazing," he said after a few minutes "I'm glad Dave suggested we have the ceremony here."

Penelope nodded in agreement.

They stood there for a while longer until Aaron noticed that Penelope was shivering "Are you cold?" he asked concern in his voice "We should get back."

He began to turn but Penelope put a hand on his arm "Wait," she said "just one more minute."

Aaron frowned, worrying about her but he didn't move away or insist they go back; instead he turned to her with a questioning look. Something about her posture told him that something was off.

"Penelope…?" he began but she cut him off.

"You know, before I came out this afternoon, I was worried I wasn't going to fit into my dress…"

"Penelope," Aaron said thinking she was doubting herself "you were the most gorgeous woman…"

Penelope chuckled "No Aaron," she said taking his hand and placing it on her stomach "I was worried I wasn't going to fit into my dress because I'm two months pregnant."

Aaron gaped at her, his eyes slowly drifted down to look at her stomach where their hands both sat one on top of each other. He flexed his fingers across the smooth material of her dress and then his eyes flew back up to meet hers.

"Seriously?" he asked.

Penelope nodded, with tears forming in her eyes "Yeah," she said "I just found out for sure earlier this week. With everything going on with the wedding I didn't want to say anything but right now it just felt like the right moment."

Aaron pulled himself from his shock and he embraced Penelope "That's amazing," he said hugging her tightly.

Penelope laughed and hugged him back "Whoa there," she said losing her balance "if you're not careful we are going to end up in the water!"

"Sorry," Aaron said instantly pulling back "I'm just so happy. I can't wait to tell Jack that he's going to be a big brother."

At Penelope's amused look, Aaron grinned "Though I'm sure that can wait until tomorrow, unless we want everyone here to know."

Penelope laughed "Well do you think we should get back to our guests?"

Aaron wrapped an arm around Penelope's waist "If we must," he said leading her safely and drily off the dock.
