The fire in the pit goes out, and my uncle walks off the alter. He had a weird expression on his face, hinting that the sacrifice had worked.

"I can feel it," he breathes. "It's happening."

Seconds later, I hear a crack and Klaus grunts. His werewolf side had been awakened.

I cringe at my uncle's pain, or perhaps it was my own pain, considering I still had the vervain ropes around my wrists, binding them behind my back. If it weren't for the rope, I would've ditched the sacrifice and found my father.

Klaus' eyes were glowing yellow and in addition to his vampire canines, his teeth had gotten sharper.

Suddenly, thunder clapped and Klaus was thrown to the other end of the clearing. The fire flared up again and Bonnie came through the woods, speaking in the same hypnotic language Greta had earlier.

Damon came out of nowhere and snapped Greta's neck, making her fall to the ground dead. Next, he looks over at me and leans down in front of me.

"What happened to you?" he asked.

"Apparently, I'm Klaus' hostage," I answer. "But don't worry about me, go help your brother!"

Then, Damon spots Elena and his face falls. For once, I actually felt sorry for him. I knew what it was like to lose someone you loved.

He picks her up and walks off of the alter towards Stefan.

My attention turns back to my uncle. He was writhing in pain on the ground from Bonnie's spell. She was trying to weaken him enough so Elijah could kill him.

Klaus' screams were getting louder and the fire around him was burning brighter and hotter.

My father walks slowly up to him, taking in his weakened form.

"Elijah?" Klaus asked. He sounded scared.

"Hello, brother," my father says, strangely calm.

Without warning, Elijah raises his hand and plunges it deep into my uncle's chest.

"In the name of our family, Niklaus," he says, still calm.

"I didn't bury them at sea," Klaus confesses. I already knew that, it was a wonder Elijah didn't.

"What?" Elijah sounded pissed, his teeth were clenched and he looked livid.

"Their bodies are safe," my uncle pleads. "If you kill me, you'll never find them."

My father's whole demeanor changed, I could tell he was rethinking killing Klaus. Family meant everything to my father.

No, I wanted to yell, kill him!

"Elijah," Stefan pleads. "Don't listen to him.

Too bad Stefan didn't realize that his words had been for nothing, my father was going to save Klaus, I could tell by the look on his face.

"Elijah," my uncle whispers. "I can take you to them. I give you my word, brother."

My father was considering it.

"Do it and I'll take you both out," Bonnie threatens.

"You'll die," he looked at her.

"I don't care," her teeth were clenched.

"Brother," Klaus whispers.

My father looks at Klaus and then back at Stefan and Bonnie.

"I'm sorry," he says simply.

"No!" Stefan and Bonnie yell, rushing forward to stop him.

My father picks up my uncle and runs at vampire speed with Klaus in his arms, leaving me alone in the clearing with Stefan and Bonnie.

Stefan and Bonnie's eyes fall on me.

"Please," I plead. "Don't kill me. Klaus tied me up because he knew I was trying to help you."

"How do we know you're telling the truth?" Stefan questions.

"I guess you wouldn't trust me," I sigh. "Not now anyway, considering what my father just did."

I guess Stefan decided to be merciful because he walked around me and reached for the ropes.

"Don't!" I warn. "They're soaked in vervain!"

"If I untie the rope do you promise to get the hell out of Mystic Falls?" Bonnie asks me, deadly serious.

"Yes," I answer, somewhat thankfully.

Bonnie walks behind me and I can feel her tugging at the ropes my wrists are bound in. A few moments later, my wrists are free and healing quickly.

"Thank you," I say sincerely. "I am sorry about everything. I hope Elena lives."

"She will," Bonnie says, stone-faced. She didn't trust me. I didn't blame her. "Now leave before I rethink my decision about letting you live."

Wordlessly, I slowly got up and walked into the woods without a backwards glance at either of them.

In my heart, I knew it was time to leave Mystic Falls and everyone in it. But I had to find my father first.

"What the hell did you think you were doing?!" I yell at my father as soon as I see him. "You had your chance to kill Klaus and you didn't!"

I found him walking through the woods looking for my uncle.

"He knows where our family is," Elijah answered, not looking up at me. "You know how important family is to me. It's why I came back for you."

"I know," I reply. "But still, I could've shown you where they were, he showed me. He keeps them all in locked in caskets and carts them around wherever he goes."

My father stops walking and looks at me for the first time.

"He showed you where they were and you didn't bother to tell me?" he sounded mad.

"I wasn't supposed to tell anyone," I explain. "It was supposed to be our little secret."

Elijah nods, taking this new information in.

"He has everyone except for Mikael," I say. "Which doesn't surprise me, considering they never got along and Klaus has spent a thousand years running from him."

"Do you know why our father is trying to kill him?" my father asks.

"Because Klaus killed Esther," I answered. "Right before your family left for the Old World."

"Right," he nods.

We come to a small clearing in the woods, where Klaus is laying on the ground. It looked like he was sleeping, I wasn't exactly sure.

A few moments later, Klaus wakes up and his face is full of wonder, no doubt from him finally getting what he waited a thousand years for.

Elijah throws him a shirt and some pants because he was naked. I turn around and look the other way while he gets dressed.

"You've been busy," Elijah says to Klaus.

"That was amazing," Klaus answers. "How long has it been?"

"Almost two days," my father replies. "Full moon came and went. You remained a wolf."

"I can change at will then," Klaus sounded appreciative. "That's good to know. I remember…every single kill."

I hated to say it, but my uncle truly was a monster now. His existence went against nature.

"Yes," Elijah says. "I've been cleaning up your little mess along the way."

Of course he had, he always did. Couldn't let little brother clean up his own mess, right?

For some reason, my father really was starting to annoy me. I was starting to remember why I spent so little time with him. It was because he never let me do anything and when it came down to it, he would do anything for Klaus.

There was a time when I would have done the same, but not now. Klaus had made it clear that after centuries, I was no longer his favorite. I was also pissed about him tying me up with vervain soaked rope.

I turn around, instantly in a bad mood when I see him.

"Just like old times, brother," Klaus was smiling. It made me sick. How could someone enjoy killing so much?

Wow, either my humanity switch had been turned on high, or I was becoming a pacifist…I hoped it was the first option.

"Well, you've had your fun," Elijah says, getting to the point. "I believe we have a bargain."

Elijah walks over to Klaus and hands him shoes.

"That's right," my uncle says, putting on the shoes. "Now what was it again? Oh, yeah, wait. I remember. That's it. You wish to be reunited with our family."

"You gave me your word, Niklaus," my father says, picking up the shirt on the ground and wiping it off.

"What kind of brother would break his bond?" Klaus asked rhetorically.

You, I wanted to say so badly.

"Even though you did try to kill me," Klaus says.

"I could have," my father looked pissed as he helped my uncle into his coat. "But I didn't."

"No one can," my uncle answers. "Not even you."

I begged to differ. There had to be some way to kill him. Nature wouldn't let this happen without some loophole to kill him with.

"Relax, Elijah," Klaus says. "All is forgiven."

I didn't know why, but at that moment, all trust I had in my uncle disappeared. He kept his promises, but never fulfilled them without hurting or killing those closest to him.

"Where are they?" my father was using his no-bullshit voice. He was being serious. Given the chance, he probably would try to kill Klaus again and set out to find our family on his own if Klaus didn't show him where they were soon.

"You need to lighten up," my uncle says, changing the subject. He had something in store for my father to make him pay, I just wasn't sure yet. "I'll bring you to them soon enough."

Klaus walked past my father and spotted me.

"Good morning Aria," he was in a good mood. I however, was not.

"Morning," my voice was cold.

"Still mad about the vervain?" he asked, amused. "It was for your own good, love. Trust me."

I rolled my eyes and he kept on walking.

I look up at my father, who's still standing in the clearing.

"Are you really going to take that crap from him?" I ask.

"I have to do as he says or I don't get reunited with our family," he says, simply.

"No, you don't," I argue. "I know where they are. I could've shown you."

"It's too late for that now, Aria," my father answers and walks past me, no doubt following Klaus.

Sighing, I give up and follow them both.

When we get back to the apartment, Stefan is there with Katerina.

"Klaus, you're back, " Katerina greets us, holding Stefan by the jacket. "Look who decided to come for a visit."

"You just keep popping up," Klaus sounded amused. "Don't you?"

"I need your help," Stefan admits. I could tell he didn't want to. "For my brother."

I'd almost forgotten that Damon had been bitten by a werewolf. By now, he was probably fading fast.

"Whatever it is, is gonna have to wait a tick," my uncle answers. "You see, I have an obligation to my brother…that requires my immediate attention."

Klaus walks away and my father looks at Stefan, taking a few steps towards him.

"You understand how important family is," my father says. "Or you wouldn't be here. My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my own."

"And so I shall," my uncle says, standing behind Elijah.

My father turns around to face his brother and is staked through the heart with a dagger.

"No!" It takes all I have not to rush over and kill Klaus myself. I knew he would pull something like this, he hadn't completely forgiven my father for almost killing him. I feel someone's arms around me, holding me back. I couldn't even think to fight back, everything was blurry and all I could think of was how I had just witnessed my uncle daggering my father right in front of my eyes.

The arms let go of me and I sink to the floor next my father, trying not to let the tears escape.

"You hypocrite!" I scream at Klaus, a few tears escape. "You want your family to be together as much as my father did, and yet you cart them around in caskets wherever you go, not letting them live! You make me sick!"

I had to get out of there before I did something I'd regret.

It took all my strength to stand up straight and rush out of the apartment to my car. Once in my car, the tears started streaming uncontrollably down my face.

I didn't understand how he could do that. I knew the daggers temporarily killed an Original, but still…

I needed to get out of Mystic Falls.

I pull out of the parking lot and head towards I-95, not looking back at the small Virginia town in my rearview mirror that had once been my home almost a thousand years ago, but now was the farthest thing from it. I knew I would see my father again someday, it was just a matter of when.

And when he was finally undaggered by my sadistic uncle, I hoped that he'd come find me and we could have another start at being a family again.

AND...that's the end. For now anyway. I might decide to make a sequel, but right now it's kind of iffy, considering I'm in college now and there's so much work I have to do and I'm pretty much procrastinating by updating...

ANYWAY, I do not own TVD, only my OC, Aria.

I hope you all enjoyed the story

Please continue to read and review :)

P.S. I'm in the process of putting together a Kol/OC Fanfiction, so keep an eye out for that
