"Percy," Annabeth says, "I... I can't..." By the sound of her voice she was exhausted.

I look back and see her half collapsed. We had been hiking for a while now, after I had been able to stand on my own two feet again. We traveled at a slow pace, jumping at every growl or shuffle. We had to play it safe if we were ever going to make it out of there alive.

Riptide was always at the ready , but Annabeth's fingers kept twitching at the place where she normally kept her dagger. I could tell that she missed its presence, and honestly, so did I. I could never imagine being in a place like this without Riptide.

"Just a little farther, I see something ahead that might give some cover." I said as I bent down to support her. We walked/ stumbled toward the large rock and I took first watch as Annabeth closed her eyes.

I sighed in relief, usually she gave a whole big stink about taking first watch.

It wasn't as hard as I expected to stay awake in Tartarus. Usually, when I take watch, my eyes are droopy and I want to sleep really really badly. But here, in the demon's home town, I was wide awake. Roars and screams echoed off the walls at random times, making me rip out Riptide at everything.

It's times like these where I realize that I take some things for granted. Like the sun, even though it burns me, I never thought how much I would miss the light. It sure would be useful down here.

Note to self: Sacrifice something to Apollo.

And the god of toilet paper whoever he may be.

Suddenly, a buzzing filled the air. I looked around for the source. It was like the static of a t.v, something you think you hear but not sure if you really hear it.

The buzzing got louder and sparks of electricity crackled all around me. Riptide is unfortunately a conductor, so I drop it in surprise as it shocks me.

"What the..." I began to say, when two bright beams of light appeared in front me. When the light dies down, two knights in shiny armor (No joke) knelt before me.

"Don't come any closer," I warned, grabbing Riptide from the ground and waving it at them. I slowly made my way between them and Annabeth.

'Crap,' It think

"Lord Perseus, Lady Annabeth," Said the first one with a male British accent , "We've come to take you away."

"Well, not you per say, but your, umm." The second one tried to explain something, but was failing miserably in a heavy Scottish accent.

"They never said anything about asking permission." British scolded, knocking Scottish upside the helmet with a loud clang. "We just grab and go."

"Oi! Do you want to be on the bad side of two New..."

"Shut up!" British said again, "We're not supposed to say anything."

"Excuse me, " I said, "Sorry to interrupt... whatever that is..., but what are you talking about?" I slightly lowered Riptide.

"Umm, we need to take your life force." The Scottish one said.

I raised Riptide, and pointed threateningly. "No way in Tartarus." I spat.

"Percy, who is that?" Annabeth said, forcing herself to stand and lean against the rock.

"It's twedle dumb and twedle dumber." I mumbled to myself. But it didn't bode well that Annabeth had no clue who someone was.

"What?" She asked, sounding groggy.

"I am..." British started.

"Now you shut up!" Scottish scolded, banging British upside the helmet, "We aren't supposed to tell who we are."

"So, if I have this straight, you can't tell us who you are, can't tell us why you are here, and you can't tell us why you need our life force?" Annabeth demanded.

They looked at each other then looked back and said 'yes' in unison.

A moment of silence.

"No." Annabeth and I said.

"They thought you might be a little stubborn, so they gave us this to give to you."

"That and the fact that they have zero faith in us." British chimed in.

Scottish threw a piece of parchment over to Annabeth, who caught it.

I kept my eyes firmly on the two, but waited expectantly for Annabeth to say something.

"Percy," She said, "we need to go with them."

"Ok," I said and lowered my guard immediately. I clicked riptide back into a pen and shoved it back in my pocket. If Annabeth said so, then I guess it was true.

Annabeth looked gravely at me, then handed me the parchment. There was something else in her eye... relief?

Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase,

By order of the Council and other parties, we interfere and recall you to Olympus. There is no need for alarm, the mortal bodies will know nothing of what is occurring and continue on.

Signed,

Zeus,

Poseidon,

Hades.

"The big three," I said in amazement. "What mortal bodies..."

I turned around and say myself still keeping watch and looking back at another sleeping Annabeth.

"Well, looks like we have no choice." I said.

I looked back at the two who were also looking at me.

"Man, your whipped." Laughed British, and Scottish joined in.

"What?"

"Nothing," Annabeth said. And she started forward but was limping badly. I helped to support her and we went to the knights.

"Alright, hold on m' lord and lady."

"Let's get this over with." I stared long and hard at them and then hugged Annabeth close. She leaned her head against my shoulder for a moment, then took it off and looked up.

I followed her gaze. A circle of light was building above us and I had no time to react as it came down.

Then everything was black.

Olympus

I opened my eyes slowly, the bright light seeming to burn holes in my irises. I blinked a few times, trying to get used to light in general.

I felt someone laying on my shoulder. I heard Annabeth starting to wake up as well.

"Where are we?" She asked

A semi- embarrassed cough made their presence aware.

I went slowly to my feet and helped Annabeth onto her's.

"Welcome to Olympus, blah blah blah, Zeus will see you shortly." A bored voice said from behind a pillar, then he walked away before I could look at him.

"Percy, do you know what this means?" Annabeth said softly.

"No," I said, "What?"

"We are going to be Gods."
