Hey Guys I'm really happy to give you guys the third chapter of Angel of Lightning! In this chapter we get to see a glimpse of Angelo's true power. I hope you like this guys as this is my first time writing an action sequence on top of this being my first fan fiction ever! I'm also very happy to see that people are actually liking this and following! It would be awesome if some of you guys could leave a review of the chapter so I can see your guys opinion's and ideas for the series! Without further delay here is Chapter 3!
Chapter 3
Angelo never was one to sleep for extended amounts of time, he spent most of his time reading or training. Glancing over the Emerald Forest, he wondered what Ozpin would want him and the other first years to collect. Knowing his foster father it would be something intellectual. Hearing an announcement over the PA.
"Would all first year students please make their way to the cliffs please." announced the steady voice of Glynda Goodwitch. Sighing, Angelo rose to his feet and walked to the starting area.
He arrived to see that everyone was already lined up. Ozpin turned around from his speech. " Ah Angelo" The use of his first name and the smile that two greeted each other got confused expressions from the other students." I know that you already know the mission and the layout of the forest so I won't repeat myself"
"Well then good luck everyone you will need it if you wish to survive." stated Ozpin in his usual monotone voice. Angelo was the first person in the line so he quickly got himself ready whipping out Judgement and Intervention. Suddenly he was flying through the air. Seeing the speed at which he was falling he decided that the best course of action would be to dig his blade into the nearest tree. Seeing a large tree rapidly approaching he prepared his sword. When he hit the tree he span around the tree and softly landed in a combat stance, quickly scanning his surroundings. He was alerted to a growling to his right. Spinning he saw the threat and narrowed his eyes. Out of the bushes he saw two Ursa's walking towards him. Angelo switched Judgement to its rifle form and charged at the two Ursa's while firing. Stunning the Ursa's he switched back to his sword and ran through them cutting at their legs causing the two beasts to fall to their knees. He then proceeded to jump on the back of one stabbing it through the head. Before the other could rise he swung his sword over and beheaded the other.
Jumping down he looked around gathering his bearings, he was alerted by the sounds of shotgun blasts. Giving a guess at who was the source of the loud sounds he set off. Coming up to a clearing he was not surprised at what he saw. Walking out he approached the source. Standing in the middle was Yang and the girl in black from earlier, walking up he saw Yang and the girl turn around to him. " Hey Angelo"
"Hey Yang and..." looking at the girl in black.
" My name is Black Belladonna" replied the girl.
" Angelo Nariko, I presume that you two are now partners so in that case we must make haste so we can link up with the others." stated Angelo. Seeing their confused expressions " Don't worry I know the forest like the back of my hand, after all I grew up at Beacon for most of my life with Ozpin to look after me."
The two girls were speechless. Angelo took this as a sign to head off with the two girls in tow.
They soon arrived at the temple, as they we looking around they were alerted by the sound of a screaming girl. Looking up they saw Ruby hurtling down from the skies. Suddenly something flew across and knocked her away. Amongst this mayhem Angelo noticed a boy in green and a ginger haired girl had joined the group. Yang suddenly exploded in a fit of rage when she was interrupted by Blake pointing up. Looking up a faint outline of the Heiress appeared as she was falling. Taking it upon himself Angelo prepared to jump and catch her but was interrupted by none other than Jaune who caught Weiss but proceeded to fall under her and act as her cushion. Angelo was more concerned with the fact that a Deathstalker had appeared alongside a Nevermore. Before he could do anything Ruby rushed at the deathstalker but was knocked back. Angelo then caught sight of the Nevermore flinging it's feathers at Ruby which caught the girl by her hood. Getting ready to help her he was cut off by a white blur. Soon Ruby was helped up by Weiss and was back over with the rest of the group.
"Well guys I believe that it might be time for us to leave" pointing out the two large Grimm that were getting ready to attack them.
"Yea our objective is just to grab these and get back to the cliff!" stated Ruby.
Angelo ran over with Ruby and Jaune, while the others grabbed their pieces Angelo was drawn to the White King piece which he quickly stuffed in his pockets. Rushing out he headed to the front of the group. " Follow me Guys!"
The group rushed off, before they knew it they were at the cliff but were closely pursued by the Grimm. Lining up they ran forward trying to get to the cliff. As they were about to cross the bridge the Nevermore flew and took out the bridge. Angelo ended up with the side with the Deathstalker. Switching his sword to a Rifle he quickly sprayed at the Grimm to keep it at bay. Blake ran in and was quickly knocked back. Seeing this infuriated Angelo, switching to his Longsword he charge forward dodging the claws onto the back of the beast while slashing at its eyes. The Grimm's tail lunged forward which he dodged but was knocked flying by a stray claw. Angelo landed hard at the other side, he got up to see the Nevermore was held against the cliff by ice. He looked at the others in time to see Ruby fly to the Grimm from a make shift catapult, she proceeded to drag the Nevermore up the cliff by herself and finished on the top by beheading the huge Grimm. Sighing with relief Angelo looked at the floor until he heard a gut wrenching sound of a girl crying out. Looking up he saw that Ruby had been pinned by another Nevermore. Angelo realised what he had to do.
"You DARE to HURT my FRIEND!" he screamed causing the others to look at him in shock. Ripping off his jacket he roared in Anger as a storm appeared in the sky, this was so loud that even the Grimm looked at him. Suddenly a bolt of lightning zipped down and struck him full on. Feeling the power "You have made the worse mistake ever by angering me for now you will feel Heavens Wrath!" he spat out. As he said this a pair of wings erupted from his back. These were no ordinary wings, they were made from pure lightning. He rose in the air and then disappeared and reappeared at Ruby's side. Ruby looked up and saw Angelo standing there, but he was different. His eyes were glowing turquoise and his wings and his weapons were sparking with electricity. As the Grimm lunged forward he simply stepped to side which caused the Nevermore to plow into the floor. Taking his time he leaned to its ear. "Now... DIE" he whispered in an almost dead voice. He jumped up and cut down with sword which had become longer due to the electricity. The blow cleaved down cutting the Grimm in half with enough force to cause the people at the bottom of the cliff to be knocked back a step.
Angelo looked down at Ruby expecting to see fear but was instead greeted with the same happy smile she had been holding when he got a chance to see her.
"Angelo? Is that you? Why are your eyes glowing?" she questioned
Sighing" Hey Ruby, this is my true form when I focus my semblance and have a desire to do something. Normally I can only control electricity, but as you could see I was fucking pissed off."
"Wow, its beautiful it reminds me of an Angel" she stated
"Well I guess you could say that I was your Guardian Angel just now" giggled Angelo.
"Thank you Angelo, you saved me!" Ruby then proceeded to jump up and hug him causing the angel to blush.
"Come on Ruby let's fetch the others and go to the ceremony" he said walking off.
Later...
"Jaune Arc, Nora Valkrie, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren. You all fetched the same pieces and from now one will be known as Team JNPR."
"Ruby Rose,Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiang Long" You to also collected the same pieces while performing admirably and so I am now proud to announce that you will form Team RWBY!" Angelo gave them a quick wave. He knew that it was his turn next.
"To finish off today's exciting events I have saved the best for last, would Angelo please step onto the stage please." Angelo grinned at Ozpin and the others as he walked up. " Angelo here singlehandedly took on a huge Nevermore while also collecting the White King piece. We have a clip of that here." Motioning to the board the whole room watched a clip of Angelo standing over the defeated Nevermore with his glowing wings, as the video cut off the whole room was stunned with the exception of team RWBY and JNPR. "To recognize this feat we are going to do what has never been done before. Angelo here will be a one man team, we are also placing him as the overall leader of Teams RWBY and JNPR! I am very proud of him" Ozpin left the best till last.
"After all he is my adopted son!"
With this both the teams collapsed.
