Chapter 9: Burning Down

∞ Third Person Point view ∞ Part 1

Mr. Lester Dawson's body had instantly left the white room of his daughter hospital room before leaving the small hospital building. His soon to be ex-wife Penny noticed his hurried pace, and before she could ask her husband where he was going, Lester passed her by without acknowledging her existence.

"The dollhouse… It's Melanie!" The middle age man staggered underneath his breath before running out the place.

Elena heard his statement and turned to look over at her boss Penny's direction with a confused expression upon her face. Penny's light pink lips stayed tight shut from his statement meanwhile her mind recalled the conversation she had with Austin, earlier the week when he first visited Ally.

The small boy with full on thick dirty blond hair mentioned something about a strange necklace upon Ally's neck, before asking Mrs. Penny what the symbol meant. Penny did her best to avoid the subject of the necklace and made sure not to mention anything about the doll. Instead she responded towards the poor eight year old boy that he imagined the necklace and told him to forget about what he saw that night. The confused boy nodded to Mrs. Dawson's request before rejoining with his parents for the night.

In the meantime, Mr. Dawson's exhausted body was making its last attempt to save his daughters' life. So many questions were rushing through his mind, but there was only one question that stood out from the rest. How is this possible? Mr. Dawson cleared his thoughts of the Melanie doll meanwhile his lungs tried to keep up with his body. His breathing started to stagger as his body prepares himself for the dangerous ride towards his home.

While driving Mr. Dawson felt like he failed as a parent. And the main reason as to why he thought this way was because his daughter Ally showed him all the signs that the doll was connecting with her and he didn't believe her. As a father who loves his child; he should have believed her. Instead he allowed his wife to make all the decisions over the situation and now his only concern was saving his beloved daughter and that is all that counts.

Lester kept his thoughts about his daughter inside his heart until he reached the corner of Adele Ave and Timber Street. Once he saw the white house, he instantly left the car at the center of cul de sac before rushing out of his 1998 burgundy Nissan Maxima. Mr. Dawson's heart sped up as he made his way towards the gray pathway of his house. His emotions and mind stayed in control of the situation meanwhile his body runs into his home. Lester's thin white skin tone fingers brushed against the medal knob of the wooden brown door as he tried to unlock the front door of his house. After the third attempt, Lester was able to open the door. And when he got inside the house, his stubborn heart became determined with thinking of the one way to save his daughter's life.

No matter how much of a screwed up at a father he was, it was the last chance he had to hold his daughter in his arms. And Lester would give the world just to see her brown eyes again.

No one ever listens, this wallpaper glistens. Don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen. – Melanie Martinez.

Disbelief was the one word Mr. Dawson would use to describe what he was witnessing inside the dollhouse.

Right there in in the kitchen area was the Melanie doll but she wasn't alone. In front of the terrified girl was a businessman that Ally named Erin. His bottom lip of his mouth was busted meanwhile his upper lip had a deep cut that was bleeding down towards the checkered tile floor.

Mr. Dawson's brown eyes then started to notice that the asian man's brown eyes were preying upon the thin doll, and for the moment his father's instincts began to enter into his mind. The brown hair man had his hands ready to tear the doll apart but his mind reminded him that this scene is a dream. And so Lester's eyes stayed on the Melanie doll as she tries to shield herself from Erin's appearance with her hands.

Behind the man was a woman who his daughter Ally named Elena. The woman was wearing a light pink nineteen- twenties style dress and the white bottoms of her dress was barely visible to the human eye.

Elena's eyes were looking at the girl with a scared expression upon her face meanwhile her hazel light brown colored eyes plead for the girl to move out of the away. The once red hair locks of hers were barely securing her small red hat with thin veil but Elena wasn't concerned about her hat. Instead her petite body and white skin tone hands were trying to pull Erin away from Melanie.

Confusion rose up from the depths of Lester's mind as his brown eyes started to shut closed as his mind tried to convince himself that this scene in front of him wasn't real. But Lester couldn't because the dolls from the dollhouse continued to move. The poor father kept his eyes closed as he thought of his daughter Ally. His eyes stayed close for a second more before reopening his eyes.

It was than did Lester realized that this was no dream. And that was the moment he knew…. something terrible is going on wrong in this dollhouse.

Places, places, get in your places. Throw on your dress and put on your doll faces. Everyone thinks that we're perfect, please don't let them look through the curtains." – Melanie Martinez

"EVERYONE! GET IN YOUR PLACES!" A young teenage boy shouted towards the other dolls from the top level of the blue bedroom of the dollhouse.

Mr. Dawson's head suddenly snaps out of his thought as his ears pick up the warning statement, and soon his brown eyes started to search for the doll. His concern eyes continued to wander around the dollhouse until he caught sight of black painted words upon the blue bedroom walls of the second bedroom.

The words written out, "A person must search hard within their own hearts and mind; in order to save their loved ones. There they will find the courage to fight for justice."

Mr. Dawson kept those words in the back of his mind before moving his eyes back towards the kitchen area.

The man was expecting to see the dolls moving around the room but all went still.

Mr. Dawson's brown eyes go into complete bewilderment; meanwhile his brain was expecting to see the Melanie doll being attacked by the asian doll. Instead his eyes found the Elena doll washing the dishes upon the kitchen sink and Erin was sitting upon the kitchen table with the small newspaper in front of him. A shocked expression came upon Mr. Dawson's face meanwhile his eyes wandered towards the second level of the dollhouse. Right there his eyes saw the teenage boy doll wearing a clean cut nineteen-twenties attire and he was seated upon the bed of the blue painted second bedroom. Mr. Dawson's body narrowed down onto the dark skin doll and found that the doll's thin pink lips were barely holding onto a force smile.

A gasp of relief came out through his lips until his brain reminded him that the Melanie doll was missing.

"Where the hell did you go?" He whispered in an aggravated tone.

"Help me!" A strange voice stated from inside the dollhouse.

Mr. Dawson's body stays frozen for a second before seeing a figure from the corner of his eyes. Slowly his vision makes it way towards the living room area to see the gothic doll name Melanie.

The doll had a smirk upon her face as her right hands goes up to one of her high ponytails. Instantly her fingers pulled upon a single strand of pink curly hair as she waits for the man to react.

"Where on earth do you have my daughter?" He shouted towards the evil doll.

Melanie's brown eyes bore a uninterested look meanwhile her dark pink heart shaped lips open up to respond back.

"D-O-L-L-H-O-U-S-E, I see things that nobody else sees."

Mr. Dawson's brain recognized the statement and his heart started to spread up again. The doll wasn't just the Melanie… it was also his daughter.

"Ally please tell me how you got in there?" He whispered in a pleading tone.

Slowly the doll's brown eyes look into the man's eyes with fear as her hands go up towards the necklace.
