Chapter 9
The duo, both May and Ai, silently dashed their way through the old, deteriorating halls. Ai wasn't sure what exactly was going on...in fact,
'Why am I following her?'
Ai thought,
'She shouldn't even be here!"
Ai abruptly stopped,
"Hey, this was supposed to be-"
"Ssshh," May clapped a hand across Ai's mouth in an effort to muffle her. She nodded her head in the direction of murmurs.
Ai peeked around the corner to see Marik talking to Odion and nearly gasped- May stopped her though.
"If you want to live, I'd advise you to shut up unless you want us both dead," May uttered near silently in Ai's ear.
Ai nodded and May released her hand, sighing in a bit in frustration. May led the two around Marik and Odion down a different corridor and waited until the coast was clear to speak again.
"Now, let's find a way outta here-"
"Why'd you come back?!"
May shook her head,
"No time for silly questions, now think, do you know any escape routes? I was thinking the windows.."
"Erm...no use. They're all bared except Marik's room, and I'm pretty sure you don't wanna go back there"
May nearly laughed at the thought,
"Yeah, try never."
"Hmm...air shafts?" Ai suggested.
May thought about this for a moment.
'If we both escaped via wiggling through the air shafts, we might make too much noise... we being Ai...'
"Ai, I'll wiggle through the air shafts, I'm gonna find you another escape route-"
"Wait you...you want us to split up?" Ai tilted her head and gave her a questionable look, May could've sworn her lips were quivering.
"...Oh, don't give me that look!"
"What look?" Ai's eyes seemed to get bigger, brimming with moisture and-
"THAT look. Look, puppy eyes do not work on me, and besides, I'm gonna take you to Jason, he's a very good friend of mine who won't let you get lost or anything."
May rolled her eyes,
'Why am I doing this again?'
May checked her watch to see if it were still operable- ah, broken of course.
'How could I expect any difference from that Egyptian snob...'
"So uh...where is this Jason guy?" Ai asked as the pair continued their path.
"Well, that's what I was gonna attempt to find out from my watch- master Effing-Creep foiled that plan though."
"Master 'Effing-Creep'?"
"Yes, that is his name." May stated calmly as she turned a corner- and speak of the devil himself.
"Isn't that-" but Ai took it upon herself to slap her face shut.
'Looks like he's seen Ren, because he looks tiiicked' May silently mused to herself.
Marik was pacing around in his room, looking much like an evil villain master-mind who's plans are failing, in fact, looking a lot like that.
"I can't believe that insolent fool could try to fool me, after I spared her life too..."
His window was open. And that was when May got her crazy, life-endangering idea.
"Ai, what I'm about to say may sound insane, but I want you to run into his room, climb to his window and jump out."
"Jump out the window?! Are you sure you don't have brain trauma!?" Ai silently screamed.
"Look, you'll be fine. There's rope in the adjacent room on the ledge of another rare hunter's window. It's already taught snuggly, all you'll have to do is climb down."
"How do you know there's rope there..."
"I just remembered seeing it when I ransacked a room for a disguise, to no avail...I think it's Ren's room- but anyway, remember all that, kay?"
Ai nodded, a little unsure of herself.
"Alright, well, off I go!"
"Wait, what are you-"
But it was too late, May dashed through the room, making a rather large entrance.
"Hellooooo~ It is I!"
Marik stopped mid step and gawked at his doorway.
"...Ai?"
"Ah, no no silly." May waved her finger and smirked, revealing her face as she did so.
"I am not Ai, and Ai is most certainly not me. No no, although, I don't believe we've formally introduced, so if I may: I am May, and Ai was May, but now Ai is Ai and May is me~"
Marik looked at her stupidly as she tried to hold in her fits of hysteria. Fiiinnaally he understood, giving enough time for May to back into the hall and Ai could silently sneak into his room out the window.
"You...you wrecked little...AGH! You knocked out my best hunter, threw my entire head quarters into a frenzy and worst of all MADE ME LOOK LIKE AN EFFING FOOL!" Marik slashed his arms around May's neck, rising her up from the ground, dangling her like a worm on a hook.
As soon as May saw that Ai had went out the window, she thrust her foot into the bad man's stomach, making him loosen his grip and let her slide down.
"Heh, now I know you're angry, but really, suffocating me? After all that hard work to win my heart? Tsk tsk~"
May dashed back into Marik's room just in time to smash the door across his not-so-pretty-anymore face. She smirked as his face grew red from both agitation and a bruise.
"I like the new look sir, it really brings out your eyes."
Marik glowered at May; she ran just in time to get shoved onto the royal brat's bed. Marik pounced on May, then May on Marik, Marik on May! The two tugged hair, clawed arms,- it was a hot mess.
Marik took out his rod and with it scratched the disguise right off of May.
"Getting a little scandalous, are we?" May puffed as she bit the hand Marik used to scratch her.
Marik winced,
"Not as scandalous as I'd want,"
May stuck out her tongue,
"PERV!"
She punched a pillow at Marik's face, distracting him momentarily.
'- just enough time for me to bust outta here.'
She headed for the open window, freedom tempting her with it's deliciousness, it's blue skies, green grasses, and noooo master Ma-
SLAM.
The window shut hard, the sound devastating to May's ears.
'Who...the window..?!'
May realized that it was her own hand that slammed the window shut. Marik was at the door, locking it securely, rod shining high in his hand.
"No...but...I..."
May gawked at Marik, then back to the slammed locked window, then back to Marik. Her hand was frozen on the window, and she knew what was coming.
'Oh I hope he still lets me pick the dress...'
Marik slowly walked up behind the petrified girl, her fingers were twitching in an attempt to unlatch the window.
He rested his head up against the back of her shoulder, rapped his arms around her waist, and imagined the look of disgust she was wearing on her face.
"You're an idiot and a deranged fool if you thought you would be able to escape..."
"Flattery will get you nowhere sweet heart," May said with sharp breaths, trying to not think about how uncomfortable she was.
Marik was enjoying this far too much. He began to stroke her hair slowly, ticking his way down her neck. Marik felt May's mind screaming and fighting against his mental grip with more force than ever.
Laughing, Marik released her from her frozen state.
'His funeral,' May angrily thought as she whipped around to punch Marik in the jaw with a left-hook.
The Egyptain saw this coming and effortlessly blocked the punch by bringing his arm back and having his hand balled in a fist by his ear.
Enraged by the smug look Marik had plastered on his face, May jumped up and knee kicked him in the chest. To May's enjoyment, Marik was hit by the blow and ducked when Marik tried a kick of his own.
He snarled while May cocked an eyebrow and prepped for a round house kick. As she began to twist her hip, body, then leg, she noticed that once again she was frozen. May rolled her eyes and guessed that she looked like a martial arts figurine.
"Tsk tsk tsk," Marik shook his head back and forth, "your figure is all off- what would your master say?"
'Well for starters he's dead' May viciously thought.
"Sorry to hear that."
"What?"
"Eh~ never mind," Marik said as he waved his hand, as if he was symbolizing that he waved off the comment,
"Now, let's see here... Your leg isn't straight.." Marik adjusted her leg,
"... And your hair is in your face..."
"Don't. You. Dare."
"Fine fine," Marik said and released her once more.
The now unfrozen May finished her round house kick as though her body thought that nothing had stopped it. To her dismay, all she kicked was air.
Marik jabbed at May's face - luckily she stopped it, but took a blow to the shoulder by a high kick from Marik.
A few more punches were blocked and taken by the pair before Marik knocked May off of her feet with a sweep of his leg under her own. She attempted to get up, but was stopped when Marik firmly placed his foot on her stomach.
'Marik just looooves vexing me,' May huffed in her head.
"You make it too easy," Marik snickered and slightly pressed his foot harder into her stomach, then released his foot.
"Now, about that auction..."
May snapped back up on her feet fast as lightening,
"Hey! We aren't done here!" May let out one last punch at her annoying foe, but alas, the pesky Marik again used his shiny rod to freeze the poor girl.
"You're right May, we aren't done
here," Marik smirked and sat the silent girl on his very messed up bed.
"Anyway, it's safe to say you lost your dress picking rights."
May's lips slightly twitched, not fully showering her anger since Marik's rod was stopping the show of her emotions coming through.
Marik rose the rod, making May stand up again, although still as a statue. The only thing May could control herself was her face.
"Now,"
Marik cleared his throat,
"Stand still."
"As if I have a choice..." May mumbled to herself.
Marik walked to his bathroom and, after a few moments of rattling drawlers, brought out a tape-measure. May cocked her head,
"Um...what is that for?"
"Measuring, obviously," Marik said nonchalantly as he stretched the tape-measure out for use.
'Measuring...oh. Dress. Ugh,' May
thought in dismay.
Marik ignored May's little internal comment and began to work, mentally writing down her measurements, starting with her vertical height.
"I must say Marik, I never took you for a seamstress," May smirked as Marik continued his work.
"It's a tailor. And I'm not, I'm just capable of writing the numbers of which you fit clothing into."
May rolled her eyes and scoffed,
"Isn't their a rare hunter that could do this instead?"
"Well, I would've had Ai do it, but seeing that you let her go..."
'So he noticed her leave...' May mused to herself.
"...well now you receive the honor of yours truly doing it."
May could've sworn she saw a smirk on the supercilious Egyptian
as he came around May's waist to measure her.
"Hope this doesn't make you uncomfortable dear," he snickered as May's face began to redden. It was definitely not her imagination that the blonde stayed in that position just a little longer than necessary.
May cleared her throat, very, very annoyed,
"Okay Marik, I think you've measured my waist for long enough~"
"Just making sure I'm accurate, my sweet."
'Bleh. I hope he never calls me that again...' May internally sighed.
Marik sniggered but May ignored the blasted noise coming from her torturer.
Marik continued his work and got around to the bust measurements, to May's silent embarrassment, although she was glad he didn't measure too...tightly.
"What small bust size..." Marik merely murmured, but definitely made sure it was loud enough for May to hear.
And in that moment, how May would have loved to sock the living daylights out of that man. But alas, she couldn't.
"Look you little wretched demon, you're lucky I'm frozen or else you'd have been slaughtered by now." May snarled.
"I'll take note of that."
"And also, I'm pretty sure this is harassment," May added just for good measure, not that Marik would care about things like laws and such.
Marik shrugged his shoulders,
"Its necessary for your dress."
'And your imminent death is necessary for my sanity...' May fumed inside her skull.
"And your imminent obedience is necessary for your survival." Marik sneered as he stuck the tape-measure in his pocket.
Marik strode off to his door and just before locking it tight, added,
"Oh, almost forgot,"
As he took the control off May's body.
"I installed an alarm system and surveillance, so don't be planning anymore escape missions." Then out he went.
'So. Dang. CLOSE.'
May thought as she spun around and thudded the window pane with we her fist. She peered down to see if Ai had found Jason. Luckily she spotted the duo on the ground and sighed a bit of relief. At least her efforts weren't totally in vain, although Marik didn't seem too worried about bringing those two back...
She sighed and grabbed her head, holding where a dull pain was starting to rise.
"Wow, a headache. Haven't had one of those in a while," May mused with faux amusement.
The brunette stumbled into the Egyptian's unnecessarily large bathroom and scoured for some headache medication.
"Helloo~ medicine?" May murmured to herself as she slid open the shiny medicine cabinets. Sadly, no medicine came into her view, just more hairspray.
"Really Marik? Really-" May stopped mid complaint and turned over a new bottle which she hoped would be some pain killer.
"Eh...?"
Nope. Not painkiller. A bottle of bath bombs. May raised one eyebrow in disbelief.
"Who knew the brat was such a lady..."
She stared at the bottle for a while. A bath did sound nice right about now...especially since the tub was about as big as his master bed. She glanced at the spa, weighing out her options.
"Well, first thing first, surveillance has got to go."
May spied the new camera that was positioned near Marik's sink and, with a bottle of hairspray,
destroyed its lens completely.
Happy with her work, May then looked under the sink for rubbing alcohol- she did not want sir creepy's germs all over her. Smiling brightly when she found it, May briskly went to work sanitizing Marik's master bath. After building a bit of a sweat, May smiled at her handiwork.
After rolling up a lavender towel for her neck and sliding off the pretty gross disguise, May eased into the bubbly bathtub.
"Man I haven't felt this good since...since...gosh I don't know...ever!" May dreamily sighed as she sunk deeper into the spa.
"These bath bubbles smell really nice, like rose, jasmine, sandalwood, chamomile...lavender," May paused at that and started to daydream about a certain teen's lavender gleam in his eye- but she shook the thought away.
May yawned as she burrowed deeper in the bath, letting the bubbles nudge her chin and cheeks. She closed her eyes, and before she could stop herself, fell asleep.
