Let's Just All Get Along!

It's been two weeks. Two lousy, long, weeks since landing in New York City. Yet, I've seemed to make a substantial life. I have a job that has me singing on weekends in a club, and I found that when I sing more passionately, I would have the crowed swaying and grinning like drugged up addicts. As I moved my hands, like I was casting a spell, they would move with them. When I sang the "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga, they would literally fall under the spell of my powerful voice and tare it on the floor. The Boss didn't mind at all; if anything I just brought more business like he wanted. And, as promised, my pay went up in less than a week I began this job! No complaints here though! The money just helped me earn a hole in one of New York's fair living conditions of its many hotels.

Ah, yes. The Hotel from Hell, is what I heard some people say, but how does that infect me? It doesn't. Considering that I've already gone through my Hell, this was a slice of cake. One corner room, on the highest floor, was supposed to be haunted by some guy who committed suicide. But, for the price that the owner was offering for a month, I took it, and the moment I entered the room, the presents that was supposed to be there suddenly felt fearful of me. Now I'm not a big believer of ghosts, but I belief that as long as you lay down the law (in a place you live) they will leave you alone. Well, as long as they were human entities. I have yet to meet anything demonic but I was in no mood for either anyway.

It was a normal looking room. At four stories high, and held a single fire-exit from the living room window, it was fine. Except for the bedroom with a full sized bed, I could literally feel like someone was trembling with fear at the sight of me, despite the fact that I was the only one physically in the room. With a low growl and a flash of my red eye's (like I was saying "Leave!"), the feeling fled the area immediately. It's funny; almost, for the idea of vampires and ghosts getting along was probably preposterous! Well, half-vampire anyway. But after my first few weeks of re-decorating the place, I heard my new neighbors start to complain that something was hiding in their closet. I guess the spirit from that druggy was afraid of me. Good! I have too much on my shoulders to worry about some damn ghost!

I had removed that mattress and stuck it under the door's handle, barricading it and preventing anyone who would force themselves into my new nest. Course, that would mean going in and out the window, but that's no problem for me. Locking and draping the windows I noted that I would have to buy heavier fabric to block out the sun. Then I started to tear up the bed's bottom frame. Most were made of wood and the longer length was used to be two of my support beams for a hammock. I didn't buy a hammock yet, but until I did I used the king sized quilt and tied each corner from the wall to the two wooden posts. The small box TV was moved to the far end and I set the dresser just to my left. Lastly, I threw the two pillows on top and gave a good look over at my arrangement. It will do for now. A cheap hotel room was always a bonus in this City; and besides, I was making good money as a Hypnotizing Singer in that night club.

That got me thinking on my mind powers. I knew, as a Dampire, that I wouldn't be that strong. But, if I concentrate harder I would get one heck of a headache. So, I had to practice on blocking other people's mental voices out, for the idea that a part of my brain was like a satellite dish left me rather unhappy. And they say being a psychic like someone from X-Men was cool? It is NOT! It's rather annoying hearing thoughts of other people as your walking pass them. Though I found that as long as my mind was open to them, I can hear them. So, I had to learn, by myself, on how to create a mental wall to block them out. Easier said than done, what will all the daily and nightly noise that this town brings to my ears! But after three more days of meditation, I had succeeded in putting up a 'ward' as it were, to aid my sensitive brain.

As I entered my fifth night, in this place, I was starting to whine down. I haven't killed any more idiots yet, but rather just knocked out the occasional pickpockets to robbers. Taking their money, of course, I was starting to make myself famous for it. How I know this was when I turned the TV on one night to the six o'clock news. The two news men were discussing about some woman portraying as a twenty-first Batgirl to Catwoman, and maybe even – Supergirl? Fuck that! But it made me laugh to how they were describing me as I lay in my blanket-made hammock, eating a bag of popcorn.

"She portrays herself as a hero, but doesn't stay at the scene of crime." A blond commented as the other more graying, brown haired took a jab.

"Well, I've met some witnesses' say she's all Mystery," He said while folding his hands on the desk, "Dressed in all black, yet her skin is as white as snow. Like the daughter of Snow White just turned to the dark side!"

I laughed out loud. Snow White indeed!

"Well I hear-say that she is part vampire!" The blond nailed it without hesitation. "Straight out of Twilight! Super-strong and super-fast, she wears sunglasses now to hide her inhuman eyes!"

"Makes you want to stay inside at night now!" The other said as they both chuckled. "Now I'm sure there is no such thing but so far the Police department has refused to comment about her. Even when one of our people said that a few weeks ago; when the first killings in Long Island had started, there has been actual evidence of bit marks on the victim's throats. Torn open by some wild and blood thirsty animal."

"Then did this woman come out of the sea? Is she here to aide us or just kill to get what she wants?" The blond began to ramble, "For the reasons of why and how are yet to be discovered about this mystery savior, there is one thing we do know about her; she is very real and very dangerous. We'll hope to have more evidence about her as she continues to plague our city with fear and control over the criminal population. Hero or villain? Savior or criminal herself? We can only hope the Police are looking into the situation and present with more solid evidence about New York City's new residence."

Pressing the power button on the controller, I turned off the TV and sighed to myself. It wasn't even a month yet and already the news cast was already having a field day with me! At least they haven't called me murderer yet. Well, I suppose they have without actually saying it. After all, vampires were considered monstrous killers. Not wanting to strain my already exhausted mind, I pulled my overcoat over me and decided to nape for the rest of the day and half the night. During the somewhat silence of the night, my other half decided to pop my dream bubble with a warning.

Wake up! There is an intruder!

Damn it all! I mentally growled but stilled when I heard soft footsteps heading my way. The smell of a stinky man met my nose and sound of a heartbeat came closer as if in anticipation. His breathing was slow and even but I kept still, making him think I was still asleep. How dare he intrude upon my little corner of the world! He's in for a shock if he thinks to get away with it!

"I'm gonna give you the ride of your life, little girl!" I heard him whisper in the dark. Really? This ass thinks to rape me? Me!? He is sooo dead wrong!

As soon as a hand brushed against my shoulder, I lunged. With my super strength and speed I jumped off my hammock and pounced on him like a cat. Before he could finish his yell of surprise I grabbed his windpipe and squeezed as my other hand went for his wrist that held a six inch knife.

His dark eyes were wide in shock as his face was currently covered in a black ski mask. I glared with my glowing red eyes and yanked it off will little time for him to recover before choking him again. "You are one ugly fuck." I said as his wrinkled face contorted in pain. His dirty blond hair was slightly spiked as a five o'clock shadow bristled his chin. He must be somewhere in his thirties, but looked slightly older what with the smoke smell I got from his fowl breath.

Directing my eyes to his weapon, I ran my fingers to his glove covered fingers and pulled the blade from his grasp; another for my ever growing collection. Without looking behind me I threw it into the wall while glaring at the punk that was pinned to the floor by my weight. I squeezed harder till he was red in the face and his hands went to try and pull me off, but it was futile. I had him in a death-grip while my knees threaten to cave his chest in.

"You thought you could break into my room and get away with a ride?" I growled lowly at him. Even though it was dark, I could clearly see the fear on his oxygen starved face. "Well guess what, dude. You just forfeited your life to me!" Standing up, but not releasing my grip, I dragged him to the window he crawled in from and found a crowbar lying just several feet from it. So that's how he got in. Well, that's how he's going out too!

The smell of the night air was welcoming as I climbed out onto the metal balcony of the fire-exit, and with little effort, I dangled him right over the edge of the sheer drop of four stories high. "You know, I've been trying to cut back on killing scum like you," I said casually as the guy's eyes shot with fear to the ground as his hands barely clung to the arm that held him. "BUT, I'm in rather a bad mood now that you woke me up! You better pray that Purgatory will show more mercy that I! Because I hate rapists! And I'm gonna make you eat shit right before you die!"

A whimper of fear came from him but I paid no heed. He thought that he was gonna rape me and be off. ME? Well, he gets what he deserves for trying to fuck me! I threw him at the wall of a building just across from the hotel. His head hit it and he started to plunge downward till his body crashed into the dark blue dumpster below. Where trash belongs! I thought with satisfaction and I walked back into my apartment as I heard his heartbeat die. Noticing the crowbar, I threw it out the window and heard it clang as I noticed how the hinges to the locks were now ruined. Dumb bastard! He's lucky I didn't rip him apart! Or drain him dry! Then again, he would probably give me a stomach ache!

I sighed and went for my overcoat. Now that I was a wake I was going to need to walk to take my mind off my anger. I removed the knife from the wall and stuck it into my left boot. It will come in handy. With that I walked out of my now broken window and started for the rooftops. It was more peaceful and the lights of the city buildings seemed to give New York an awesome life.

I knew I had just killed again, but that guy definitely deserved it! I really do hate rapists! Men who think they could get away with such an awful act are dirty rats! They even stink so much I feel like throwing up! That's probably why the guys, I bit into earlier, tasted terrible. They were so tainted in body that their blood was no longer pure or enjoyable! Gross! As a half-vampire, I need more good blood to keep me going. Now that's going to be difficult! This city was basically famous for harboring dirty people. Oh, God. How has my life gone so downhill?

After a few jumps and sprints over streets and such, I landed in Midtown Manhattan. Enjoying the nightly view from above Fifth Avenue, I jumped down to walk the partly populated sidewalk, ignoring the stares along the way. Closing in on Bryant Park, I noticed how the trees were starting to grow its green leafs again. Winter was starting to end and the smell of fresh plant growth fills my nose as I started walking through it. Small and feeble compared to Central Park, it was peaceful at one in the morning, that is till I heard someone running and some woman yelling and giving orders to stop.

Looking around the thin trees, I spotted a middle aged man being chased by a familiar, red-ginger haired woman. One of the Detectives from the condemned hospital! She was apparently trying to catch a criminal, but I saw how her lungs were starting to give up on her as she ran the guy through the Park and down the street towards an alleyway. Well, I might as well help, even though I gave her a bad first impression. It's time to make it up to her.

I quickly caught up and saw the guy pull out his revolver and aimed it right at the Detective! He was cornered; trapped on all sides by man-made brick walls, and the only way out was where the woman officer was currently blocking. They didn't see me in the shadows as the man warned her to stay away from him.

"Look!" She said, panting for more air as she slowly raised her hands, like she was surrendering. This made me mad. "You don't have to go through with this! You can come with me and we will sort this out! You can make a deal in the courtroom…"

"No way! There's no way that the court is gonna let me off easily!" He said, also gasping for air while his fingers shakily held the gun. I have to act fast or someone is gonna get it! Whatever this guy is, he's a clumsy idiot that was gonna cause another death. Pulling out the knife, I took aim and held for the right moment; for I didn't want to hit the officer.

"Don't you understand!?" He began shouting, his sweat dripping from his face, "I killed her! My own wife! And she deserved it! That cheating bitch! She deserved to die! Don't come any closer!" He warned as she tried to take a few steps to him. His finger looked itchy, too itchy to trust. I've seen enough. This guy has lost all hope in life and not even the woman Detective can convince him otherwise. It was time to put an end to his misery.

"I know," She spoke slowly; "I know what she did. It wasn't fair to you. We can work this out." Holding out her hand but the guy just shook his head. "Please! Come with me and I'll help you!"

"No! No….! ARGH!" He was just about to pull the trigger. I know. I saw his finger squeeze, but he didn't get the chance to as my knife hit him in the chest. He gagged on his own blood as the gun fell to the ground; him shortly after. The Detective stood and stared in shock at the object imbedded into the man's heart as his blood pooled around it. Her hands went down as her mind went high speed on its wheels to figure out just what had happened, and then I came up behind her.

"You welcome," I spat and she nearly jumped in surprise as I stood there looking calm and impassive as ever.

"You…! You…!" She gaped a few times, turning from the now dead gunman to me.

"Yes. Me," I smirked and stared at the dead body, unaffected as his blood started to stain the ground… or tried to, for the smell was making me thirsty again. "Hi." I finally said, ignoring how she stammered at meeting me again.

"You – killed him!" She finally said and I frowned. So much for a thank you!

"If I didn't than he would have killed you," I said as I approached the body and fished my knife from him. Coated in blood, I licked it dry and placed it back in my boot. Standing up I saw how she was still standing there, petrified with either fear or confusion. Maybe both. "Unintentional or not, he would have shot you or himself. Either way, he knew he wasn't getting out of here in handcuffs. I guess I just saved him the trouble." His blood wasn't that bad, but it was the Detective's turn to be angry and distract me from the ever smell of freshly fallen blood.

"You didn't have to kill him!" She snapped and approached me; thankfully my boots made me look just an inch taller than her. "I had the situation under control! There was no reason for him to die! How could you!? Don't you feel anything at all after what you just did!?"

Glaring at her, I took a step towards her in challenge as the glow in my eyes intensified. "No." I finally said and she continued to stare at me in disbelief. "He was going to shoot you. Didn't you see that?"

"I was getting through to him! Didn't you see that?" She countered and I stuffed a growl.

"Ha, Ha. Sure you were," I smirked and started to walk away. So much for calming down by walking tonight!

"Stop!" She said and I heard her pull out something. I stopped and gave a sideways glance, and then I glared at her for pointing her gun at me. Funny how she points it at me and not at the man who was going to kill her! "You're under arrest!"

I wanted to laugh, but I stayed with a fanged grin and turned to face her again. "Go ahead," I dared her with a look, "Shoot me. I doubt you can kill me anyway. Didn't you learn your lesson back at the hospital?"

For over a minute she held the barrel of her gun at me, her brown eyes holding mine as I returned her stare with twice the force.

You don't understand! You have to face your crimes! I heard her mind say and I felt a familiar sense of déjà vu. A silent standoff between me and someone who was ordered to kill me, how – annoying.

"The only crime to ever exist with me is that the world is letting me live with this curse," I said with a sad sigh.

The woman bent her brows in confusion before lowering her firearm, yet nor did she put it back in its holster. "What? You still don't belief in vampires? Demons? Even evil beings with inhuman powers? Well, you better believe it, sister! Humans who lower themselves aren't the only evil that exists in this world! If God and his angels exist; then so does the Devil and his demons!"

She didn't say anything to this, but nor was she gonna put down that gun. As an officer of the law, she was supposed to do her duties and bring in the guilty for Justice to convict. But how was she gonna catch and convict someone like me? She wasn't! How could she anyway when I broke through her partner's cuffs? How I can jump and scale walls without losing a bead of sweat while she had to take ten minutes to catch her breath after chasing down her current assignment, only to walk away with him in a body bag now.

"You still didn't have to kill him," She finally said and stared, rather in disappointment, at the man's dead body. "Don't you know there are other alternatives than killing people?"

"Not those kinds of people," I said coolly and examined my nails drawing my attention away from the Detective's ever upset face, "I've read his mind… well, got snips of his thoughts about not living beyond tonight. Just as I picked up your thoughts about me facing my 'so called' crimes." I smirked as her eyes widened a bit.

"You can – read my mind?" She said carefully, not quit believing the words herself. Sensing her doubt, I let my mind be open to hers a little longer and stared to play the Mind Game.

"Well yes! When I want to," I said then put one arm under my chin and the other under my breasts, my face holding a playful yet thoughtful expression. "Let's see – I can tell you still hate me for knifing that guy, despite the fact I saved your life. You are still having trouble believing in vampires even though I told you I'm only half-vampire and you think this is something out of some Stephen King movie. I liked some of his movies too, you know. You also still worry about your partner and wonder if I've injured and/or killed any other being and have serious doubts about your law enforcements ever hoping to catch me, or even catching a date after our little meeting and –."

"Stop it!" She hollered and put her hands to her ears, her gun still, ironically, in her left hand, its barrel facing the sky. I couldn't help but laugh coldly at her stunned expression, my shoulders shaking with my mirth.

"Oh come on, Detective!" I said, holding my arms out in welcome to her, "At least I'm not attacking and feeding off the innocent! Although I am trying to cut back on killing, don't be surprised when you find a body every now and then because he thought he could get away with rape! Oh, that reminds me of that idiot that broke into my hotel room and tried to fuck me. He was an epic fail though when I threw him out and into the garbage." By her horrified expression at me confessing to another murder, I just grinned back.

"How – how can you even live with that?" She finally asked as she lowered her arms again, her interest renewed.

"Well, how do you live with the fact that you've taken a life of a low-life, and don't deny an answer because I know the job you're in requires lethal force should the situation call for it," I countered and when she didn't answer, I did it for her. "You just do. It's a fact that this world has gone to Hell and only the strong survive now. IF there is hope that innocent lives can be spared, then I'll do it to make up for the blood that I've spilled. But – that's my problem. So? You still plan on shooting me or what?"

Another minute passed by before she sighed and finally put her gun away. Then she took out her cell and dialed. "HQ, this is Olivia Benson. Requesting assistance for a dead body in alleyway between West Fortieth Street and Fifth Avenue. Suspect is victim of knife wound; perhaps self-inflicted."

"Copy that, Benson. I'm sending assistance to you immediately, please hold and maintain your position," The voice said from the other line and then she hung up. Really? Did she just lie through her teeth – for me!? Whoa!

"I didn't do it for you," She said when it was my turn to be surprised. "I – just didn't want you to make a mess at Head Quarters and – I have a lot of questions to ask you."

"Don't be shocked if I refuse to answer a few," I said and then heard the tall tale of sirens coming our way. When she saw the stricken look in my eyes, she looked up towards the roof.

"Hide until I call you," She said and I raised my eyebrow at her, but I smirked and complied anyway. I headed for the nearest wall and smiled when she curiously watched as I ran vertically up the wall and jumped to the roof, only peering back when I was able to.

After a few squat cars arrived; along with an ambulance, it took them almost half an hour to mark and document the area. God! This is why I don't like police! They take forever do get a job done! I even spotted her six foot two of a partner asking all these questions if she saw me or not. When she said "Just come with me and be quiet!" I frowned when I realized she wanted him to be a part of my 'interrogation.' Ah shit. Oh well. As long as he doesn't lung for me again, I'll be nice.

When the party left she dragged him back to the alleyway from next door.

"What the Hell is going on, Liv?" He asked, getting annoyed as she dragged him into the empty space between buildings. Though it was almost three in the morning, he was too tired and soar to be dragged into another one of her surprises.

"This is important, okay?" She said as her eyes kept looking up at the rooftops of buildings. He followed her gaze several times, but spotted nothing. Was she paranoid now? Scratch that; she has always been paranoid, but this time she was actually acting like she was hiding something. "Through here." She said then waved her hand at the roof.

Confused, he followed her into the old building and suddenly felt a familiar chill run down his spine. "Oh, no." He said as a light bulb switched on in his brain. "This isn't about – her, is it?"

"Who else would it be about?" A cool, female voice made him jump from behind. When he turned, the one responsible for his still bruised ribs, stood just a few feet from them.

"Relax, Elliot," Olivia said and made sure the door was securely locked. "She's not going to hurt you."

"Only if you be a good boy this time," She sneered at him with her taunting voice. He stiffened and Olivia had to put her hand on his shoulder to keep him from doing anything drastic.

"Don't," She said and pulled up a few random chairs from an overturned table. "We just want to talk."

Elliot glared from C to his partner, but after a minute he gave in and sat into the other chair Olivia pulled up for him; noting that there wasn't one for the so-called Dampire, or whatever she was. But judging by the way she was pacing back and forth, she wasn't planning on staying long.

"So?" He said, starting things off first, "How did you become a blood thirsty creature?"

"I don't wish to discuss that," C frowned at him yet continued to pace.

"Elliot!" Olivia gave a small warning then turned back to the impatient woman in black. "C." She began carefully, knowing any wrong move or word could make her leave. "What is it that you want?"

Detective Elliot Stabler stared at his partner. Was this woman being treated like a terrorist now?

"What I want is to be left alone," I said as both Detectives sat in their chairs. Funny, and here I thought it would be I that would get the 'good cop, bad cop' routine. Maybe it still is; only I'm the one standing. "You can't buy me! It took me a long time to gain the freedom I have again! I am not risking it with any so-called deals from the New York Police! In case you haven't heard, I did save two people from a truck wreck near Time Square!"

"Two lives don't make up for the other ten that you've taken, C," Elliot spat and froze when a low growl came out of my throat. "I take it you killed that guy out there this morning too, right?"

"She saved me," Olivia finally admitted it which silenced the man. "She didn't have to, but she did. Why?"

"Why?!" I hissed as my pace quickened some. Their heartbeats were taunting me as the smell of fresh blood still haunted my nose. I need to feed, and soon! "Why? Oh! I don't know! Maybe I just didn't want to see a respected officer shot and killed by some coward! I was only passing by after some dumb shit broke into my hotel room and though he was getting a free ride from me! Too bad he won't be doing that to anyone ever again!"

That's when the man stood up, his face contorted with barely controlled rage knowing I had just stated that I had killed again.

"He deserved it!" I growled when the woman held him back by the arm. "I don't like stuck up bastards that think they could get away with screwing a woman!"

"Is that what happened to you?" The man called Elliot said, "Were you raped by a vampire then bitten?"

"No!" I said but was half impressed at his deductive reasoning, "But I might as well have been." I turned my back to them as I watched a few headlights pass the windows, lighting the dark and condemned room we were in. "Been brushing up on some undead homework?" I asked and I could hear him smirk.

"Something like that," He said and took a few paces towards me, I quickly turned and he stopped. "For someone to be a vampire; or in this case; half, one has to be bitten and then given the blood of that vampire. Right?"

"Ya. But, that is under normal circumstances," I said coolly and he backed up a bit, trying to make me relax with the given space.

"So, what happened to you? Why did you become a half-vampire?" He started to ask more freely than I liked, "Was it for the power? The passions of that dark seductiveness that everyone wants form a hot, male vampire –!"

"NO! YOU MORON!" I punched a wall and left quit a sizable crater in my waking temper.

"Whoa," He breathed and backed up a bit with his hands slowing rising in front of him, "I meant no offense!"

"Was it for a trade?" Olivia suddenly cut in. By that reasoning we both looked at her in surprise. "You're a strong and independent woman, C. I can see that." She continued as she stuck her hands in her pockets. "You've fought all your life to keep that independence and probably made few friends. Was a friend in danger?"

For a few silent moments, I didn't answer, but from the expression in my eyes she saw the truth and I finally breathed out, "Yes."

"You're not a selfish person, C. You just proved that by saving those lives from two weeks ago. You even saved mine today," She continued, "Although, I still believed the situation could have been handled differently, that doesn't make you a terrible person."

"I'll be damned," Elliot said as he eyed me closer, like he was seeing me for the first time.

"If you don't watch yourself you just might be!" I warned and shifted my boots on the floor, ready for anything. "But don't confuse me with being a hero either! I can only do what I can! That's all."

"But you couldn't when you were tied to that cross, could you?" The guy said as I narrowed my glowing eyes at him. "We found skin tissue and dried blood on the silver wires. Not to mention the impressions on the wooden cross indicating that someone was tied to be crucified. That blood and skin was yours, right?"

"Yes," I sighed and paced slowly, but still keeping my eyes on them.

"Who did that to you?" Olivia asked as her eyes tried to hold onto mine but I refused.

"Someone who doesn't like me," I said while frowning at the memory of that undead bastard.

"Obviously," Elliot said and I glared at him again, "You must have been through Hell of the worst kind. Then you wash up on the shores of New York City. You try to adjust to normal living conditions again, but even I know better… You're having a tough time controlling that other half aren't you? Which is why you can't guarantee that you might stop killing?"

"You're on a roll, Detective," I spat as I shoved my hands in the pockets of my overcoat.

"Is there anything that can help you change back?" Olivia finally asked. When I gave a hollow laugh, they both cringed at the sound.

"No," I said and wiped the smile from my face. "IF you have done all your vampiric research that you said you've done, then you must know that there is no going back! Not even for a half-vampire like myself."

Olivia signed and ran a hand through her hair while Elliot just bounced on his heels impatiently. They weren't getting anywhere with me and I wasn't going to forfeit my life to them even if they said please.

"C," Olivia said, and took one step towards me, "Is that the first letter to your real name?"

"Yes," I said growing board already.

"Well, is it too much to ask to tell us your full name?" Elliot eyed me as I pressed my black coated lips together.

"Couldn't find me on record, right?" It was my turn to ask as they both stared at each other, then to me, "I know all about the technology to track someone using their DNA, you know. Almost everyone in this century knows. Yes, it is too much to ask because I don't trust you! I don't just give my name out to anyone! That's how most people use you! First they get your name, your home address, and then your personal life! Like you've said; I've been through Hell and have no intention of ever going back to it! Ever!"

"I understand," Olivia said, but when I gave her a doubting look she corrected herself, "Okay. I don't understand what you've been through. Whoever did this to you, I know you must want to make him pay. But you can't take your anger on every criminal in the city anymore. It's just not how we do things! If you really were all human once, you'll respect our wishes and at least try to contain your – other half."

"Are you asking me to be all nice and such to criminals when their standing you down?" I had to ask with a cheeky grin.

"Yes," She said which earned her a raised eyebrow from both her partner and I, "I'm asking you, Dampire C, not to kill anyone unintentionally anymore."

Although it's true I don't play well with others, it was even rarer to have someone asking me and having me make a free choice to follow through or not. That's probably why I respected her. She also knew what it was like to be alone and be only dependent to yourself.

"You know," Detective Elliot said, breaking the moment, "As a half-vampire I bet you can find and locate anyone in the city with those super senses you have," His partner gave him a look at what he was implying, "I'm just saying. You could probably finish a case in less than half the time it takes us to solve a murder."

"You say too much," I growled and started for the door.

"Wait!" Olivia said but I ignored her.

"Why should I help you people if all you want is to see me behind bars?" I hissed and wiped around to face them, stopping her in her tracks. "And don't lie to me! I can hear your thoughts on it! Yours too!"

Elliot raised his eyebrows and started to shift rather uncomfortably on his feet. "She can – you can read other peoples thoughts too?" He asked feeling a little exposed at the moment.

"Ya," I smirked and heard the words of "freak" and "scary ass Gothic" coming from his mind. I nearly laughed out when he thought of jumping out the window just to get away from me. "But only if I want too. You'll have to practice on keeping your thoughts to yourself instead of directing them towards me. Freak." I finished with that one word in his head. He blinked then just collapsed back into his chair and rubbed his hands over his balding head. I giggled coldly as he whispered a "Holy Shit" fraise over and over again. "Oh, don't take it personal. Just don't tell your wife about you meeting some half-vampire psychic woman and you'll be fine."

"My wife?!" He looked up at me when I saw an image of the woman flash before his memories.

"Ya, now stop that," I warned, "I can see images too."

"We can still try to help you," Olivia said as I started to back away and out the door.

"You can fail or die trying to," I said truthfully, "Everyone else has."

"Don't you have family still around?" Elliot pointed out, trying to be assertive again.

"No," I said flatly, "And even if I did, I wouldn't risk their lives with what's now a part of me. So, don't you do the same! I can help others in need with my gifts. But I'm not a hero. I just want to live my life again. For me."

With that said, I left, leaving both of them to ponder over my words. Can't they understand all I want is my life back? Okay, so I'll consider preventing myself or my other half from killing criminals. Sure I had a rocky start, but at least she asked. Hardly anyone has ever given me the freedom of choosing for myself. Making my own decisions has always been a part of my life. But it looks like I have some new additions too.

As I walk back to my hotel room, I began to think on what she said. I guess it's about time to find a new solution to my blood drinking. Maybe I can bit a few homeless or drunks and take a pint from each. That way they won't die from blood loss. Speaking of such, some morning drunk was tripping over everything he couldn't see. Time to test my abilities of self-control! After all, no one else will.

TA! DA! Now it's off to the next chapter! I hope you like it for it took me a while on how I was going to construct it in a more 'friendlier' approach when it came to C and the Detectives of SVU. But I like how it turned out!

Thank you for all your awesome REVIEWS by the way! They are the fuel I need to keep going. Also…!SPOILS ALERT! I'll be having a guess star play an important role on C's life. Do you know who it's gonna be? Who's gonna be the actor that gets to be that important someone? Guess right, and you'll be rewarded with a free trip to New York City to be partnered up with C for a day AND night!

Kidding! *snickers* But I am excited for the next three chapters I'll be writing! That's right! It's a three part special! Can you guess what it will be? Well you'll have to bear with me and hold on tight! I think these are gonna be my best chapters yet! Maybe… But anyway, thank you again for all the REVIEWS and REVIEW someone on how it's coming! You're thoughts and supports are always comforting! :'D

Love to all, BR2
