"Love me tender,
love me sweet…"
You heard a voice as you unlocked the door to the bunker, walking inside with hands full of groceries. Who was that? You honestly couldn't tell which brother it was, whether it was Sam, or your boyfriend, Dean. You were curious as you put away the bag where they belonged, in the fridge, cupboard, cabinets, and the countertop. You refilled the flour and sugar containers and threw away the empty packages.
"Never let me go…
You have made my life complete,
and I love you so."
That had to be Sam. Dean would never listen to Elvis, let alone sing it. You turned off the TV, muttering about how everyone always left everything on, and picked up around the living room. YOu were always picking up after the boys. Sometimes you felt like a maid, but it was just your payment for getting to stay at the bunker once your parents kicked you out. You'd soon be able to help them with hunting, but they had to teach you everything. You were sheltered, a pristine little girl who always went to private school and had never seen a gun in real life.
Were.
You met Dean when he saved you from a wendigo nearly seven months ago, and he had really taken a liking to you. He stayed in town much longer than they usually stayed, continuing to see you at night when you could sneak out. You knew your parents would kill you if they knew you were seeing a guy like him. Not college educated. Not rich. They would hate him and wouldn't ever approve. But you did it anyways. Maybe it was rebellion, at first it definitely was. But soon it was because he was the one. You knew that. Didn't want to admit it, but you knew. You had fallen for Dean Winchester, and he loved you back.
You attempted to tell your parents, to no avail. They screamed and berated you, calling you a failure. And then finally kicked you out. Pulled you out of your second year of college and kicked you right out of the house.
So here you were, picking up after the Winchester brothers, and dating the older one.
"Love me tender,
love me true…"
You remembered the singing mystery and walked over to the shared bedroom to check. Where you thought Sam would be sitting, there was Dean, guitar in hands, singing sweetly. You balked silently and listened.
"All my dreams fulfilled,
for my darlin' I love you,
and I always will."
Leaning against the doorframe, you continued to listen, smiling at the sweet voice. Dean only ever listened to classic rock around other people, so all you ever heard was his rough, near sex like voice. Hearing a soft, more vulnerable side of him was refreshing and honestly, made you fall even more in love with him.
"Love me tender,
Love me long,
Take me to your heart.
For it's there that I belong,
And we'll never part.
Love me tender,
Love me true
All my dreams fulfilled.
For my darlin I love you,
And I always will."
He didn't even know you were there until your voice joined in. He stopped playing and turned quickly as you continued the song acapella.
"Love me tender,
Love me dear,
Tell me you are mine.
I'll be yours through all the years,
Till the end of time.
Love me tender,
Love me true,
All my dreams fulfilled.
For my darlin I love you,
And I always will."
You smiled as you finished the song. "Baby, I didn't know you liked Elvis." You giggled and walked over to him, sitting down next to him and kissing his cheek. "Why didn't you tell me? Are you being stubborn again?"
Dean pouted softly, something he only really did in front of you, because he knew how much you loved the pout. "No, sweetheart. I just wanted to try something new... And I didn't wanna get ragged on by Sam."
"You know I'll kick his ass, baby. I've done it before!" You smiled and kissed his lips, savoring the moment before standing.
"Now come on. I got groceries home and you know we promised to have dinner done early tonight."
