Chapter 2: The Talk
Ok then, how do you do this? I know the basic and advanced controls, I even memorized them but putting them into practical was easier said than done. I'm still fidgeting my fingers as I pressed the Start button to see a menu ala WO3. It has info on my selected characters and their weapons and items
I checked their level states. A pop up message appeared saying stuff like in that menu, I can check their equipments and their stats. Oh, so the PS3 transferred the memory to the real life thingy. Ok that should be easy, since most of my characters were strong. The new characters were the ones I was worried about but I have some battle points so I'll level up a single character one of the time
I checked their equipments. Everyone had their strongest weapons and the attributes I inserted, good. I don't want to redo it all over again . Items were the same so that's ok, and horses... Maybe I should change some of the character's equipments, most of them having an attack, defense and speed boost up
I selected an option called "Battle Points Market". Another pop up message appeared saying
In the BP Market, you can purchase costumes and level up characters. If you have a high BP then it might be enough to buy the locked characters but they're pretty expensive so save up a lot to unlock them!
A menu appeared. It looked similarly to a shop and a girl was there. So similar to that in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 but without Naruto standing in front of her. There was the option Costume, Level Up and Unlock
I selected the Unlock to see who were the characters, only to see silhouettes of them. And- Whoa! 5000 BPs! Just like the Hydra it's very expensive! I picked the Level Up option as leveled up Wen Yang to 15, Nobuyuki to 15 and Lu Lingqi to 15 too, that was the time I was completely broke of BPs.
Ok, I backed up until I was in the pause menu. I really want to fight a battle now but there's one problem, "How do you pick a battle?" I asked them, it was Sterk who answered me, "R3, L3. Press them together will make us take our weapons out and enter our battle stances" he explained, "Oh ok, then we should name ourselves! Nikky's army would be really stupid, so lets call ourselves... The Black Parade!" I said
They thought about it before nodding, "I can agree with that. The Black Parade is a good organization name" Ginchiyo said. I smiled, though I still couldn't believe I was actually talking with them. Awesome! "We should think about what is our goal, if we encounter the real warriors then it might be hard of we don't have a task" Yukimura said. He does have a point
I then suggested, "What about to find the real culprit behind this mess, lets say... Tamamo no Mae?" Orochi tensed, I could see why. Everyone in the room seemed afraid for a second before turning serious again, Zhao Yun spoke, "That's not the exact thing in your mind, is it?" I shrugged. But he's right, it's not, "If we find the true culprit then we could interrogate Tamamo on how to transform Orochi back to Yinglong"
The atmosphere of the room tensed greatly, mostly it's because of Orochi. I know deep in his heart that he wants to return back to normal, but he didn't know a way. I heard a chuckle to see it was from Sterk, "You are... A kind hearted little girl are you?" I smiled along with him, "Orochi deserves a second chance, even if he was unconscious of what he was doing. Now who's with me?" I moved my hand to the middle as I waited for their hands to join up with mine.
Sterk was the first, "I'm in" Yukimura said as he joined up with our hands. Followed by Zhao Yun and Ginchiyo, we all turned to look at Orochi... Who actually smiled a true as genuine smile before saying, "I guess there's no turning back now" before joining his hand with ours, "Alright! We're a team now, including the ones that aren't here yet! Go Black Parade!"
Everyone chuckled at me, the atmosphere was really warm in the room. I'll get along with them easily, the atmosphere turned tense once again as we separate our hands. Ginchiyo then asked, "That could work but how do we defeat her? We used the Shīnkyo at her, without it I don't know if we can actually defeat her" she had a point. It might be harder without the Shīnkyo with us, and not to mention she was the one who has it.
Orochi then said, "Even if we capture Tammo, there is no guarantee that there will be a way. Even Lord Shangdi couldn't do anything but watch as I transformed" he said. Damn, he got a point, "We'll find a way, I know we will! We just have to use our brains and imaginations, like maybe for example we could find a lake that can transform you into your original self!" I said
"Ooh! Or maybe a mirror that reflects-" he silenced me by putting his hand on my mouth. He looked around as if he sensed someone else was here, "It appears we have some unwanted visitors too. Good luck gamer" , "Eh?"
The door busted opened as dust were in the air, instantly I pressed R3 and L3 at the same time. The characters were in their battle stances as I saw in the glasses, my main character is Zhao Yun as he was in the middle. The rest of the characters went into hiding. The serpent army was I'm front of my house god dammit! I cant even pause to see who's there in the army! If I did I would be dead, chased away by them!
"Right! Lets go Zhao Yun" I said to him. He responded, or more precisely I tilted the move button and slashed at the enemies. The way I see it seemed to be exactly like the video game, but if I opened the glasses I would see a real war. I don't know how long I can't keep up, I can see the map of the battlefield. It looked like a road, a road to Ueda castle. Huh? Ueda castle... That's where Zhao Yun is held prisoner! I gotta save him!
But I have to save myself first from all of these reptiles, and those were Wei soldiers! "Back off you idiots! I'm here to save Zhao Yun!" Zhao Yun and I yelled to them until one officer said, "Report back to Master Cao Ren! Reinforcements for the Resistnace army have appeared!" Oh, so lord Zuo Ci had finally appeared Hm? Talk about great timing!
"Oh? Master Zuo Ci has made his move already?" I wondered using his voice. The game was much more fun that I could have ever hoped for... Hmph! Now lets go kick some ass!
I killed every enemy around my house before I locked everything, which took ages. The windows, the doors, everything, "Alright, lets get wild" I said as I tilted the left roller. Enemies appeared again, I made sure I killed everyone with him. Though I wonder, what of I use Orochi as my main? Hahaha... They're in for a surprise
No more enemies in the vicinity I saw, I controlled Zhao Yun towards Ueda Castle. It's actually a straight line but just so many enemies! This might take a- wait a sec! I pressed the up button, all the characters have appeared from their hiding. This is gonna be good, I can tell... Ehehehe
Normal POV
"Out of my way!" Orochi yelled as he slashed several soldiers with his scythe, killing them instantly, "L-Lord Orochi! Why are you doing this!?" Yelled his own soldier. He smirked an evil grin before grabbing him from the neck. The soldier chocked as he said, "Tell everyone that a new snake is in town, you will be the messenger to spread this news" he lets go of the soldier as he dropped to his butt, "Now go before I change my mind" te soldier ran for his life and he yelled, "Imposter!" Over and over again
He sighed, "Was that really necessary?" He asked to Nikky, only to hear a laugh, "Ah! I always wanted to do that! Man that was intense!" She said. He sweat dropped as he walked towards Ueda Castle, followed by the rest of the team
"D-demon!" Yelled a Wei soldier they ran back to Ueda castle, "I-i-it's Orochi!" , "R-run!" , "We don't stand a chance against them!" Most of them yelled, they retreated back to Ueda Castle, "Hm... We don't need to fight much, all we have to do is to show both of your faces" Yukimura joked to Sterk and Orochi. Their eyes twitched in annoyance, "Anyway, we should hurry to Ueda castle. My real self is trapped" Zhao Yun said
"Right, but one problem" Orochi said, "What are we gonna do with them?" Sterk thought about before saying, "Just leave them, they'll spread false information. That should lower their guard" a voice could be heard from the inside of their heads as they sighed, "Ah! I just realized! How are we gonna explain our situation! And not to mention how are they gonna believe us!?" Her voice sounded
"Now you finally thought about this? Geeez... Ok, no enemies around the area. You can press the R3 and L3 button again to enter camp mode, change our team members and yes this battle is a victory for us because most of them have ran away. You can change who with who but make it fast!" Ginchiyo said as they heard, "Oh! Ok then!"
Meanwhile, in the south...
"Lord Zhao Yun! This way!" Said a generic officer as a man with a spear looked at him. He nodded as he was followed by a big warriors inviter armor, a girl with a fork and a shield and a woman with a serrated sword. He was determined to escape from the castle as he fought off many warriors along the way.
"Master Zhao Yun! Reinforcements are on their way!" Said a soldier as he yelled out and bowed in fron of him, he perked up, "Which side?" He asked the man, "The Resistance!" The fork wielder breath a heavy sigh of relief, "Oh, thank god. With them, it'll be easier to escape" she said until she realized something important
"We didn't asked for reinforcements. Who are they?" Asked the old man until they heard screaming from their left, "R-run! Orochi is coming!" Everyone tensed. Orochi... The demon that had imprisoned them all, the ones that had created so much chaos, the one the loathed so much, "Orochi!? Why is he here!?" Asked the woman with the sword, "Wait, look" Zhao Yun said.
He had noticed that the ones screaming was the soldiers of Wei, didnt they served him? Or has Orochi has gone mad and will slaughter everyone in his way? "The soldiers of Wei, weren't they serving Orochi? If so then why are they running away from him?" He asked his group.
The girl noticed as well, "You're right, he must be up to something" she said until a spear from the sky stabbed an enemy soldier from behind her, "That was close" sighed a voice from their left. They looked at the direction to see a man wearing a cyan colored armor with a helmet, "Are you alright?" He asked.
Everyone nodded as Zhao Yun asked, "Who are you? Our reinforcements?" The man nodded and raise his arm, "That's correct, I assume you are Master Zhao Yun-" he looked at the spearman, "Lady Ginchiyo-" the young man averted his eyes to the woman, " Master Yoshihiro" he moved his eyes again to the old man, "-And Lady Xingcai?" He looked at the last of the member. The group nodded as the man smiled, "My orders are to escort you out of the battlefield, after that I should take my leave and to make it clear Orochi is actually an illusion"
4 other figures haw appeared behind him as they revealed to be 4 white haired youths. A man wearing a white and green clothing with a red rod-like weapon, another man but seemed to be younger wearing a Yin and Yang robe and wielded a fishing rod, a man wearing a black and red armor wielding a katana that was merged together and a girl wearing a short black dress wielding a cross halberd
The ones who wielded the crimson and fishing rods joined their hands as blue energy began to engulfed their bodies, the warriors closed their eyes as the white light was too bright for them to see. Once they opened their eyes, they were in a different place. It was a road, near Ueda castle but far enough for the Wei and Serpent to not pursue them. The cyan warriors nodded to the white hairs before stepping back, "Our mission is done" he said as the same blue light appeared
"Wait! Why are you helping us!?" Zhao Yun asked, the warrior said, "We are known as the Black Parade, we are the truth seekers. Our goal is to search and destroy a certain fox that is responsible for this mess, farewell" with that the 5 warriors disappeared
"What just happened?" Ginchiyo asked until an old man in white appeared before them, "It would seem that Orochi had absorbed another from a different world" he said, "Master Zuo Ci!" Zhao Yun be Xingcai said. The man now named Zuo Ci nodded, "This Black Parade, they are a very... Unusual. They seemed to have the knowledge of what is going on" he said as he remembered them
"Who exactly are they?" Asked Yoshihiro, the mystic shrugged, "That I do not know of yet, and that is why I want to seek them out. They may have the knowledge of the whereabouts of your lord. They seemed to be knowledgable of this world even though they just arrived here" everyone perked up at the information.
An organization called the Black Parade that knows the world more than even the mystics? How was that possible? Just the thought of it made their blood boil, "They said that they were searching for a fox and they wish to defeat it, like it was its fault alone that everything is like this" Xingcai said, "Do you know about this fox?"
The mystic shook his head, "I know next to none about them and their goal, not to mention this fox they are searching. Though I do know the other five members than the ones you meet. And both of them looked exactly like our fellow mystics, oddly. And ironically had the same power but those fellow mystics are still in the Mystic Realm" he said. Now this was very interesting. An organization that had mystic clones in their army would be really useful in battle
"Who else do you know?" Asked Zhao Yun, "I don't know they're exact numbers but they seemed to have work in a group of 5. I saw 2 groups already, the one that you saw and the one before they reached Ueda castle. I also believe I have found their headquarters"
Back with the group
"I suck ass at keeping secrets..." I moaned as I was watching a cutscene about Zuo Ci talking about my army. Ugh! I hate my life! "I told you to be more careful" Wen Yang said to me. Yeah, Wen Yang actually got sucked into this mess. Oh well, Weng Yang, Shennong, Taigong Wang, Nobuyuki and Lu Lingqi had a level up rise at least. Orochi had just reached his highest level just before Ueda castle.
100-9= 91, ok I had 91 BPs. Nobuyuki, Wen Yang and Lingqi were at 15 so I added I added 29 each. 15+29= 44. Each are level 44, and I'm broke on BPs again damn it. Shennong and Taigong Wang leveled up 5 ranks up. Shennong was 173 so that means he's 178, Taigong Wang was 188+5= 192. Ok that's good! If you're asking why I'm keeping track is to that I won't go bankrupt without knowing. I always did that in the other world
Ugh, how am I going to explain it to the real selves? I'm not just gonna say "Hey! I'm from the real world and I use my PS3 to control my characters to fight for me and you guys are nothing but AIs!" Oh, c'mon! "Be quiet Wen Yang, I'm still trying to think" I said to him. Lu Lingqi sighed, "There's not enough fighting in your gameplay, I'm the daughter of Lu Bu. I share his love for fights as much as he is. Next time, make sure you control me to fight off most of the weaklings there"
And I can't seem to shut her up! She's just as stubborn as her father! And a battle maniac, as she had an awesome gameplay! Using Lu Bu's weapon in DW6 as her weapon! One of the scariest weapons on DW history!
"Ok, your story is pretty messed up now unless you can convince them. And not to mention, they're coming this way right now. So good luck convincing them" Taigong Wang said to me with his infamous smirk. Gah! Why can't they help me with the talking? I'm not good with new people! Well, they were exactly new people but they know nothing about Orochi and this world or any other! Oh wait, they do in the future- aw c'mon! It's their past selves goddammit!
"Your own fault for choosing Orochi in the first place. But the past is the past, we should just forget about it" Shennong said to all of us. I nodded as I waited for the characters to arrive in my door steps. Until I realized something very important, "Wait... That means interrogation... DAMN IT!"
Back with Zhao Yun and party
"This is the place? It looked more like a house, but it also seemed more... Advanced than any other I have seen" Xingcai said as she looked at the house until she heard a scream inside, "DAMN IT!". Zhao Yun tilted his head to his right, "Are you sure this is the place?" Zuo Ci nodded, "Completely" he said. They slowly approached the house with caution. The door was broken down, it seemed. It was a sword's mark.
"Has the serpent army entered the house?" Asked Yoshihiro, "Yes but they managed to drive them away easily, very easily. In fact, all they needed was just one man" Ginchiyo widened her eyes, it would seem they have very strong warriors in there, "Though at the very last of the battle, the other 4 appeared and the most interesting member scared them away"
"You talk of this interesting member in a vey funny way Master Zuo Ci" Zhao Yun said, "Tell us, who is he?" He asked again. Before the old mystic could answer, they heard foot steps. They readied their weapons to see a man in blue armor, his hair tied in a low pony tail and held a spear by his side. Someone else was accompanying him, it was a warrior in red. He had a headband with a six coined symbol, and also held a spear beside him
"The man in blue... It was he who drove back the serpent army" the old mystic said to them. Everyone looked towards him, indeed he was a true warrior. Zhao Yun felt something wrong about him, it was like the feeling of something about yourself isn't complete unless you find out what's the cause of it. Everyone lower their weapons slightly but kept their guard up
"You are here to ask of Lord Lou Bei's whereabouts?" The one in red asked, their eyes widened in surprise. How could they know? How and why? Zhao Yun nodded as he regained his composure, "We do, but we also want you to be in our army. You are strong, able to drive back the serpent army takes courage and the will to never give up" Xingcai said. Both warriors looked at each other before the blue one said, "I thought we already told you our goal. We have a different purpose"
"We can achieve this goal of yours together, Daji is with the serpent army. We need each other's cooperation to do this" Zhao Yun said. The warriors didnt looked too convinced, they shook their heads, "It is not Daji we are aftering, it is another. And our plan needs Orochi to stay alive" the one in blue said
Ginchiyo narrowed her eyes, "Are you siding with that demon? If you are, I will personally slay both of you" the warriors didnt even flinched at her taunt, it was like they were puppets, "We are in no one's side. We fight wherever we want, however we want and whose side we want. The neutral side, as you can say it. We want what is best for both sides" Red said, this time Xingcai narrowed her eyes
"That's impossible, only one can be victorious in this world. We are not going to back down without a fight, we will defeat the serpent army and save everyone" Zhao Yun said with determination in his eyes. He was really hoping that they would help them to search for his lord but they made it really complicated
Again the warriors shook their heads, "It is possible, it's just that the way to achieve it is rather... Difficult. To fight is the easy way out, to look for the true reason or the truth in short is the much harder way. Forgive us, but I'm afraid we have to decline your cooperation" Blue said with guilt in his eyes, 'Something tells me that they know stuff we don't know yet' Yoshihiro thought wore taking a good look at them
Red continued where Blue left off, "As we said our goals are different and we cannot offer you our assistance. Please leave, you can't change our minds" he said. Zhao Yun sighed before saying, "Very well, if nothing could change your mind then so beat it. It's a shame that you can't join the army, farewell" he bowed to them slightly before leaving, followed by the others
Zuo Ci stayed behind however, as he looked at the warriors, "What is your true purpose in this world? For you know more than anyone else seemed" he asked them, Blue shrugged, "I don't know, we just follow the Rules of Nature" , "Master Zuo Ci, you are worried that we might be enemies? Or that we might interrupt them?" Blue asked, followed by Red, "If that's true, then you should not worry. Our goal is that of the light, we just prefer to work on our own. If we work together with you then some explanations are in the way and we don't have that much time" Red said
"Explanations?"repeated Zuo Ci. They both nodded, "Yes, don't worry. We won't interfere with anything important... Though if you intend to kill Orochi then we must stop you from doing so, or else another threat bigger than him appeared!" Blue sighed as if he remembered a memory
"Master Zuo Ci, just calm down. We have a sound prove plan that will be achieve, so no need to worry about it" Red said hopefully... Too hopefully to the edge of suspicions. Zuo Ci was still unconvinced but nodded anyway, "Very well then, I can predict that our paths will cross again. Until the next time"
Meanwhile In Koshi castle
"I heard there was an imposter Orochi in Ueda castle, but he disappeared as soon as he got there. Do you know who or what he is?" Asked a teenage boy wearing a crescent moon helmet to a fox-like woman in purple, "Hm? It might be some sort of illusion, or a clone but no one can defeat the original" she said
The young man nodded. So far, no one had dared to face him. Only fools who dared to oppose him, imbeciles and idiots. But something was twisting inside his stomach, he couldn't tell why he was feeling like that but he knew that something terribly wrong will happen soon. He just knows it
They went into the main throne room to see the bodies of the reptilian army, their internal organs ripped out, their blood was all over the place, their bodies severed into tiny pieces. The woman and young man widened their eyes, the culprit? He was standing in the middle of the room. Their leader, Orochi himself
His body was quivering, he held his scythe tightly in his arms. The blood from the bodies dripped from the blade. His breath was was quick and short, never have they thought to see the Serpent King to be so vulnerable, "M-my lord? Is everything alright?" Asked the woman as she cautiously approached him, he swung his scythe toward her as a dark energy formed a wave. He yelled, "Stay away from me!"
She seemed shocked as she used her own powers to make a force field to cover herself and the young man. The barrier worked as it protected both of them, as it passed though the circular invisible wall it destroyed the walls behind them. Causing several of his own troops to see what was happening
He looked at his lord in shock, "Whats happening to him, Daji?" He asked, Daji couldn't place her thumb on something wrong, "I don't know, Masamune... I really don't know. I've never seen him like this, maybe this imposter Orochi has something to do with it. It doesn't seem a coincidence that he appeared and our lord Orochi suffers like this"
They slowly back away from him, "Everyone, find this imposter Orochi immediately! I know he's doing something to our real lord!" Yelled Masamune as a giant man with a halberd asked, "Whats wrong with him?" The one eyed lord pointed to Orochi who was shaking violently, he was also mumbling something
"I think he's saying something?" A wild man said. Daji tilted we head to her left before using her powers to enhanced her hearing even though they were already good enough. But his mumbling was too soft, all she could make out of him was, "No... The dragon... "
'Eh? Dragon?' Daji thought, as the wild man asked her, "So what's he saying?" Daji looked at him before saying, "Be patient Keiji, I'm still trying to figure out what else he was mumbling other than a dragon" she said, the halberd wielding man rose his eyebrow, "A dragon? So is this importer Orochi supposed to be a dragon?" He asked. Everyone shrugged until they heard Daji said, "Shush, I'm trying to hear him"
The Serpent King kept on mumbling mysterious words, like he was possessed, "The mirror... The Lord... Killed... Trapped... Cursed... Corrupted... Escape... The Dragon... Fallen... Destroy self..." She made an odd expression as she heard his mumbling, what does it mean? A mirror? The Lord? Dragon? Corrupted? What do they mean? "Sorry but his mumbling isn't that clear, even with my enhanced hearing. All I can figure out is dragon, lord, mirror, corrupted, destroy, and cursed" she said
Everyone looked at each other before saying, "What does it mean?" Keiji asked, Masamune then suggested, "Something that happened in the past, maybe? He was defeated by this dragon and now he's scared of meeting him again?" Daji shook her head, she had been with Orochi the longest other than Gyūki and Dodomeki
"I believe you are right about something that happened to the past, but I don't think that's the story. A traumatic experience from the looks of it" he looked at Orochi who was still shaking rather violently. The imposter Orochi was becoming more and more of a pain n the neck, and he just arrived or was made today. Not from long time ago.
He might prove to be a problem if their lord was acting like the way he did now, "We need to find the other Orochi now or he might go crazy. Hurry and look for him!"
Somewhere in the shadows, rooftops of Koshi Castle...
"All is going according to plan" a figure said as he chuckled silently at the insecure Serpent King, until he grabbed his head from the pain that was coursing through his head, "Oi! Orochan! How ya doin? And how's operation 'make the real Orochi have visions of his past self' is coming along?" The voice asked. He sighed at her
"It's going very well, I'm surprised that they didn't find me. Listen, I gotta go now and I'll talk to you later" he paused before he then said, "And don't call me Orochan anymore!" He continued to watch the soldiers, but he didn't realized there was someone else was watching him. The figure chuckled, "So you are the imposter"
He jolted slightly before he used his demonic powers to attack him, unfortunately he missed. He was a ninja after all, "Kotaro Fuuma... The Winds of Chaos, I presume?" He asked. The ninja chuckled before saying, "My, to be called by that ne by someone else. How flattering" Orochi gripped his hands as he summoned his scythe, 'I really prefer his Basara self more, he rarely talks and does pretty much anything for his liege'
"If you could, I would like to withdraw from this unnecessary battle. It is pointless for me to fight now, but we will soon cross paths again" dark energies began to encircle him as it formed a sphere around, "Until the next time, the Black Parade will come again" he said as the purple sphere began to shrink on size until it completely disappeared. Kotaro seemed unfazed by this, "Hm... This could get interesting..." He chuckled before disappearing via ninja style
