Author's Note: I am so so so so so so so sorry! I know I've been inactive for far too long, I've had exams and events and coursework and I've only just got around to publishing this. I've not edited it either I just wanted to get it out there ASAP. Thank you so much if you've been waiting for this update, I will try and update quicker next time, and if you're waiting for the Lemon then it's in the next chapter again, since I didn't want to rush it or just throw it in. I apologize to you all, and hopefully the next chapter will be up sooner! (Don't hold your breath though, since I have a feeling next week my work load from college will double)

The celebrations rang out across the Moulin Féerie, it had spread to the streets and everyone was joyous. Old friends were reunited and old rivalries flared again. Lucy had invited what I thought to be the entirety of the Moulin Féerie into her apartment, every so often a flare of fire would light up my room from the hole in the ceiling, only to be followed by needles of ice. I could hear the arguments, the drinking, the laughter and fights all from my room, and whilst it raged on I attempted to write.

But all I could think about was him.

"How wonderful life is...

Now you're in the world." I sung softly.

Was he thinking about me? I walked away from my typewriter and sat upon my window ledge and gazed over to the grand building that was the Moulin Féerie. Was he wondering like I was how that kiss would have felt, would have tasted. I could see his window and my gaze was locked onto it, if he just came to view would my heart retire it's dull ache?

"So the writer?" Panther Lily muttered gruffly, folding his arms expectantly. Gajeel shrugged as he picked up the mess that the Heartfillia girl had left behind. They had taken the writ- Levy, they have taken Levy with them to the celebration across the street. He knew in the back of his mind he could probably see her from his balcony, what would she be doing? Drinking with Cana? No she was far to timid for that. Speaking to men? Gray and Lyon maybe? No Juvia would never allow Gray to speak with her, and the Lamia boy was far too infatuated with Juvia to look else where. What if she was flirting with Laxus? A smile tugged at Gajeel's lips as he imagined the shrimp and the Lightning dragon slayer arm in arm, and at the same time an icy stab hit his heart.

"What about her?" He managed, wiping away the smile and the thoughts of Levy.

"You picked her at the dance." Lily muttered, "And Gajeel, it has been a long time since I've seen you like this."

"Like what?" He erupted. "I ain't any different than how I was yesterday!"

"You smiled at her."

"I thought she was the princess, of course I smiled!"

"No no, you've had many women to target Gajeel, but none of them got the same smile that writer did."

"Levy." Gajeel murmured. "Her name is Levy... Not that I'm makin' a point of that or anything!"

Panther Lily chuckled to himself, "I don't know why you're so embarrassed; she's a sweet girl, very pretty and makes you smile. I like her. But Gajeel..."

"What?"

"You can't let her distract you from your goal, one day we'll fly away. Away from this guild and find somewhere for us to become real mages. What more could her love do for you?" The Exceed took a serious tone, Gajeel heard the truth in his words and felt that icy pang against his heart once more. "She could come with us..?"

"Don't live life from dream to dream Lily, this is our goal. She's... She's nothing in comparison." Gajeel sighed.

"Hmm... Why don't you get to know her?" Lily muttered. "She may be of help to us."

"Well if you like her so much you go and see her, get to know her yourself and stop bothering me, cat." Gajeel grumbled, he cared dearly about his companion but there were some matters that he wished the Exceed would leave to rest.

"Maybe I will..." Lily smirked, before taking flight. "Don't miss me too much whilst I'm gone."

"Bastard..." Gajeel couldn't stop the smile on his lips. Now alone the dragon slayer found himself thinking of her again, the vague recollection of her stroking his face was the prominent thought in his mind but he had no idea whether that had truly happened. 'Urgh... It would be a penniless writer wouldn't it? Not a Princess or a Lady in Waiting. A God damn poor writer.' Despite his bitter thought Gajeel smiled, walking to the balcony and looking out to the apartment's opposite him. He scanned the top floor for the short, blue haired writer as he leant across the balcony railing. He started to hum his song, the song that he wrote one day in the heat. He then noticed the light that was on in the apartment below the party, a window which revealed the one he had been looking for. Levy stood there in that beautiful dress she had worn earlier. She looked up towards him and their eye's locked.

'Kono iron iron blues
Garakuta darake
Kajiru no sa ore Gajeel
Sou iron iron blues
Wake mo naku konya dake wa
Tabe sugitai no sa'

She was still looking at him, and he found himself lost. Could she hear him? Certainly not... He turned away with a sigh, as if some writer had altered his state of mind. As if she had just stumbled into his life and managed to screw it all up... He had to remain focussed on his dream, and as if to prove a point when he turned back around she was no longer in the window. She was probably writing, more of that beautiful poety- no, just poetry. He could imagine her sitting there and writing, the reading with that soft voice of hers at exactly the right pitch to soothe him.

"Ugrh... Gajeel pull yourself together." He muttered and I gasped, so the cat had placed me on the roof of Gajeel's room. Oh deary me... He whirled when he heard me gasp and that murderous look of betrayal reclaimed his face once more as he looked up at me. I was sat on the roof, my feet dangling from the flat surface of ashfelt.

"What are you-" He began but I didn't even allow him to finish

"The cat!" I said instantly, "He told me to- to come here and then left me on the roof."

Gajeel stared at me for a while, fixing me under that ravishing gaze and chuckled. "That bastard..."

"I-... I just wanted to say thank you, you know for helping me get the uh... the job." I was fixated on his partially opened shirt again, revisiting the memory in which I had felt those hardened muscles.

"Oh of course, Lucy was right you are... Very talented. It's going to be a wonderful play. Anyway, I best be going... We both have a long day tomorrow." He said awkwardly, looking anywhere but in my direction before turning away from me.

"Wait wait, but... I mean please wait..." He turned again, keeping his head down as I looked upon him. "Before uhm... When we were-... W-When you thought I was the Princess, you said th-that y-y-you loved me and I wondered just-..."

"It was just an act?" He mumbled, looking up at me finally. "Of course."

My heart sank back into the acids in my stomach, "It's just... Well it felt... Real." At this point he gave me a sad smile, stepping on the balcony railing to climb atop the roof by my side.

"Levy, I am a dragon slayer at the Moulin Féerie. I'm paid to make women believe what they want to believe." He uttered, shrugging his broad shoulders.

"Yes..." I replied, ignoring the ache in the pit of my stomach. "Silly old me, th-thinking that you could fall in love with someone like me."

"Shrimp I can't fall in love with anyone." He muttered, stretching his arms above his head.

"Wait... A life without love? That's terrible!"

"No living on the street, that's terrible." He grunted, "Shrimp your priorities are messed up. You're a mage, don't you want to get into a guild? Become a famous writer? You can't have both."

"Who are you to say we can't have both? Love is a many splendid thing, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need is love!" I grinned, and I could see a smile forming on his lips too.

"Gihi... Thats cute. You think you can keep that idea in your head whilst you beg on the streets."

"I once wrote a story about a boy and a girl, where there was a character like you... He didn't believe anything about the magic of love and he certainly did not believe in love. And no matter what the girl tried he simply would not believe in it, but she wouldn't give up. She was trying so hard to prove to him that love existed that she fell for him, and in turn he fell for her, but he would not tell her."

"Hmph... Where are you going with this shrimp?" He muttered, I looked to him as he leant back on his elbows, looking up at the night's diamonds.

"Well, she took him to a hill, and they sat alone together. Just them and the stars and she just told him, that they should be lovers. And as she lay in his arms she knew he'd be the one forev- HOW CAN YOU SLEEP RIGHT NOW!" I shrieked and hit him on the head, he started to laugh and just said.

"Gihihi, I was kiddin' shrimp!" He laughed, "But your face!" He started to laugh even harder, and eventually I joined him. Soon we were both in a fit of laughter that slowly subsided and once we both wiped away the tears from our eyes we smiled at each other. "That's a nice story I guess, not really into stories myself."

"That does not surprise me..." I sighed, then rubbed my shoulders as a shiver racked through my frame, the temperature had only just hit me.

"You cold shrimp? Come inside then, the roof was a silly place to sit anyways."

"I didn't-..." I began but he picked me up into his arms, carrying me bridal style as he jumped down from the balcony. I must admit that I was scared at that point, and let out a little, embarrassing squeak as he landed to which he smirked at.

"Cute..." He muttered before walking me into his room and placing me down upon the bed, where he retrieved a fur blanket and wrapped it around my shoulders, I stared at his mouth wateringly beautiful complexion before I reached out and felt the iron rivets on his face. His gaze steadied on my eyes as I felt each individual rivet curiously. "You okay there shrimp?" He laughed as I trailed my hand down his face. He closed his eyes at my touch and relaxed.

"Yeah... I'm perfect." I muttered thoughtlessly, words didn't seem to register in my mind when he was concerned.

"Gihi... Yeah you are shrimp." He opened his eyes again and placed a hand over my fur covered shoulder. "That warm enough for ya'?"

"It's fine..." I muttered as he lead me closer to him. "I'm still a little cold though..." What a blatant lie.

"I'll warm you up a bit then." He smirked, leading me to him whilst leaning towards me. A blush graced my cheeks as he drew closer and I could feel his breath lingering on my lips once more and this time, I knew it would not be interrupted. His hand moved up to cup my face and ever so gently, he kissed me. My deflated heart filled back up with love and exploded in my chest. I snaked my arms around his neck and threaded my fingers into his long obsidian locks. He didn't try and deepen the kiss, he didn't try and go too far or corrupt it, he simply kissed me. It was wonderful, like I had always imagined. He broke off and rested his forehead against my own and chuckled. "I can tell you're going to be very bad for me Shrimp."

I awoke the next day in his arms, my head nuzzled against his chest and I knew that he was the one. Oh if I could go back, back to that night of sweet, pure innocence I would, if I could relive that day over and over again I would without hesitation.

Oh how wonderful life was, now Gajeel was in the world...

However, in the Princess, Makarov got much more than he had bargained for.

"The conversion of the Moulin Féerie into a official guild and a separate theatre is a very expensive investment, Dreyars." Hisui said calmly, tapping her ringed finger against the wooden table that she sat at, behind her was her manservant whose name was unknown to the kingdom. Makarov and Laxus sat opposite her, the older Dreyar looking on with anticipation whilst the younger one looked bored of the situation. He had managed to save Gajeel's backside and get the Princess to invest yet his grandfather had insisted he sat through the negotiations also. "So in return, I would require a contract," The tapping of her ring increased in tempo, "That uhm- binds Gajeel to me, exclusively. Naturally, I require some security, I require the deeds to the Moulin Féerie."

"Wha-... My dear Princess I-" Makarov began.

"Pfft! You think I am naive? I shall hold the deeds to the Moulin Féerie and if there are any... Shenanigans my manservant will deal with it in the only language that you underworld show mages will understand. Gajeel will me mine," The tapping increased futher. "Its not that I'm jealous it's just," The Princess' tone changed into a sharp bark. "I just don't like other people touching my things!" She inhaled deeply from her outburst.

"Uh-... I understand completely..." Makarov sighed, and Laxus couldn't help but stand up and leave, he refused to leave his home just because of Gajeel. He would make sure the iron dragon slayer behaved and did not mess around with that short girl.

"Good, now that we we have an understanding you have the means to turn your beloved Moulin Féerie into a legitimate guild, with an added theatre for the shows. I shall seduce Gajeel over supper, tonight."

"I welcome you all, to the build site of the completely modern, luxuriously comfortable and instantly recognisable Fairy Tail Guild, in honour of our newest member's play." Makarov said to hall of guild members, everyone politely clapped at Lucy, Elfman and Happy pushed me forward to take a bow with them. "And the theatre shall remain our beloved Moulin Féerie!" Another polite applause for the small Guild Master.

"Princess Hisui has kindly allowed us a break from building to rehearse this play, of which every guild member has a part." Laxus began his talk about the importance of dedicating ourselves to the play but I couldn't help but look at Gajeel. He flashed a smirk in my direction as our eyes locked before he nodded to the Princess who watched from afar. Suddenly, the wall behind Makarov and Laxus crumbled behind them, sending debris in all direction and causing every one to gasp.

"Demolition was my job!" Natsu roared.

"Fire is too messy, Salamander. It was my job." Gray roared in return.

"AT LEAST I'M NOT NUDE, STRIPPER."

"YEAH BRING IT ON YO-" Both of the mages drew into silence as an armoured Erza appeared next to them.

"The master was making a speech." Erza uttered coldly. "You interrupted said speech." Before either of them could reply Erza simply smacked them both against the rubble, effectively shutting them up whilst demolishing the rest of the wall.

Makarov laughed nervously, "Hehe... The show must go on!"

Yes, the show would go on. But Gajeel would not attend dinner that night, or the following night.
