Hikers were known to trek through the paths of many forests; Many had gone there for their own reasons.
Avanna was a traveler. She loved to pack up her stuff and start out on a new adventure- Avanna lived for adventure. Though she was fond of the quiet, calm life, she did like some exitement every once in a while. She'd never thought much about this. It was just how she rolled.
Avanna was also a gypsy. She had ran away from her home at age 18, and had been on the run ever since. She was thought to be dead by her entire family since she had never been seen since. She never regretted her actions, though sometimes she found herself missing her sisters, but only in the slightest. She never had a map of Japan, either, so she didn't knew where she was or how should would ever find her way home. That was fine by her.
The young woman trekked through this particular forest, but unbeknownst to her this was Aokigahara forest. She stepped over a chain stretched across the entrance preventing people from entering, and came in anyway. She then began her journey through.
Avanna noticed something as she went in deeper: There was evidence humans before her had been here. There was rotten food, wrappers, empty bottles, swatches of clothing everywhere. She wondered what the intentions of these people were; Maybe they were gypsies like her. She doubted it though. Avanna moved a bit quicker, getting a slight sense of unease that she'd never experienced before. She tended to get a rush of excitement every time she stepped into a forest, but this was different. She felt more unsafe this time. Avanna simply brushed it off as nerves since she'd just been wandering around in towns for the past few weeks instead of forests.
She then noticed something strange: What seemed to be a rope with a noose hung in a tall tree. It had been cut apart, as if there was a body that had been disposed of where the rope had once been intact.
A chill erupted down Avanna's spine. What if she had ventured into a bad area? Would she be killed if she went furthur?
Avanna inhaled deeply, and continued. She wouldn't let fear overcome her body. She began walking faster once more, like she was running from something.
Her heart beat faster as well, in tune with her quick strides.
Then she saw a sight that made it stop completely.
A corpse laid on the ground in front of her, covered in leaves and what seemed to be blood.
Avanna's eyes widened to the size of tennis balls, and she took a while to regain her senses as she stared, unblinking, at the body.
Its chest was ripped apart. Its legs were practically nothing but bone. Its face was bloody and mangled. Avanna had never seen something so terrifying in her entire life.
The woman recalled a sign by the entrance of the forest; A warning about going in to commit suicide. It said people often went to this forest to kill themselves, but Avanna had analyzed it as just a joke and didn't think much about it.
But the corpse didn't look like it was a suicide. It looked like someone else had done this.
Avanna noticed something right away: The body had some distinctive properties despite being nearly unrecognizable. Its most notable feature was two long, ratty light blue hair that looked as if it had been ripped out and pulled. It seemed to be dressed in a torn, messed up colour scheme of aqua blue.
If a tree falls in a forest and there's no one around to hear it, it still makes a sound... Yet, the same goes for the screams that erupted throughout Aokigahara Suicide Forest.
