As the detectives left, Akiko turned back to Ia.
"Well, should we keep going? Or do you say pack it up for the night?" Akiko asked, gathering up some of her things.
"We can go home if you like..." Ia mumbled. She quietly began to pick up her jacket and slip it onto her shoulders, sneaking a glance or two at Akiko.
The two women proceeded to walk home, Akiko attempting to crack a few jokes to ease the atmosphere. Ia's thoughts swam in her head; She was quiet in stressed thought the entire walk to the apartment the two shared.
'She's going to get caught sooner or later.. I can't keep this lie up. I need to tell someone. They'll all be mad at me for keeping secrets for too long.. What am I going to do...'
Akiko sat down at the bar next to Ia. "Hey, you're shaking. Want some coffee?"
Ia nodded. "Please..." Akiko patted her on the back and got up. Ia barely noticed her red-headed partner plug in the coffee machine and pull a glass from the cabinet.
'She's going to hate me forever.. Akiko...'
The body Avanna had found and reported was exumed by police. The crime scene was marked off. Avanna was taken in for questioning.
More importantly, Ia and Akiko had done their jobs well. They figured out that there was DNA from every scene- The silver hair. They just needed to find the person with that DNA.
Officer Kamui had been posting bulletins everywhere, asking if anyone saw someone with silver hair to report them to the police for questioning. There weren't many calls coming into the police building, unfortuanately.
But a woman named Lily had called in from her sister Luka's grocery store, saying a young woman of average height had been rampaging inside and knocking things off shelves, breaking items, and refusing to stop. Officers Sakine, Kamui, and Kagamine had set off in their patrol cars to the store.
"Ms. Megurine, what's going on?" Officer Sakine questioned.
Luka shook her head. "This woman has been messing up my entire store... I don't know what drugs she's been on, but from the looks of it she's a bit... delusional. She won't stop, either." She looked alarmed.
The officers took Sukone Tei into custody, and she was driven into the police building.
"I wasn't doing anything! Those sluts called me out for nothing! I did nothing!" Tei was struggling so much she was put into handcuffs, and Officer Sakine was getting more frustrated by the minute.
Suddenly, three familier detectives burst into the room.
"Hatsune Miku's body was found, and we know who did it!"
