A Blue Umbrella Story:

Harry hadn't been aware that the house had a doorbell. But the tinkling sound of bells that awoke him apparently said otherwise. He allowed it to go on for sometime, contemplating that either only he could hear it or if it was a trick of the wind.

"May I get the door, sir?" Kreacher asked softly, he opened his eyes fully and looked at the face of Grimwauld Place's House Elf. He contemplated letting him do it but something dragged him out of bed, hope.
"No Kreacher." I said, pulling the blanket off of me and getting up, "I'll get it."

He tried. Harry tried desperately to keep the disappointment off of his face as he opened the door and didn't find the blonde haired girl he wanted to see but, was mildly shocked when he saw a familiar bushy haired girl he could recognise anywhere. Despite her pasty complexion, baggy eyes and thin form being battered by the elements,

"Hermione?" Harry asked incredulously, eyes wide behind his glasses as he saw his best friend standing in the rain on his doorstep. A bundle of blankets in her arms and a thin, weary smile gracing her features,
"Hey Harry." She said tiredly, shifting the bundle in her arms, "I do hope I'm not intruding but could I pop in for a bit?"
"Of course. You don't even need to ask." Harry said, ushering her in out of the rain and casting some quick Warming and Drying charms on her,

"Thank you." She whispered, her voice distant and sleepy.
"You're knackered, have a rest." Harry told her, he began to lead her and was careful and slow. In case what he thought was in her arms WAS in her arms.
"I can't… stay too long." She said through a yawn. "I've got… to get home."

"Why?" Harry asked,
"I've got to…" She began, but Hogwart's former resident brainiac was too tired to form a coherent response. Leading her up the stairs and to a guest bedroom he silenced her protests.
"You're too tired to do a thing. Go to bed Hermione Granger." Harry commanded. Looking around the Slytherin coloured guest room with a narrowed pair of eyes, "If you both need anything I'll go get it."

"Both?" She asked, eyebrow raised,
"You may have been the smartest out of all of us but I'm not an idiot Hermione." I said with a smirk and she blushed slightly. Hugging the bundle (which Harry now knew to be a baby) to her chest. An adoring look to the small child making Harry refrain from asking questions, he'd ask them when she was ready.

"Here." He said, Transfiguring a small cot for the baby and gesturing to it and some of the rooms other items, "There's a bathroom through there, rest as much as you need to."

She smiled gratefully and settled the baby in the cot before hugging Harry tightly.
"Thanks Harry." She sighed into his shoulder. Harry hugged her back and appreciated how truly thin his best friend was, "You've always been so good to me."

Harry smiled and pressed a small kiss to her forehead,
"Go to bed." He said and he slowly and quietly exited the room. Shooting her a smile before closing the door and allowing her her privacy.

"Kreacher." He called when he got downstairs and the House Elf appeared with a crack,
"Yes Master." The House Elf bowing so deep his nose brushed the carpet.
"We have guests. I need you to go grocery shopping…"
