(I know that its been like a year since I last updated but I got caught up with alot of stuff to do, but with this new year I'm hoping to be able to get more free time to update all my stories evenly, so lets contiune with the next chapter
Chapter 3:
On the other side of Big Burg lived a village; Old Mill village to be more precise. Old Mill village isn't really a village but more of a close knit neighborhood we're everyone knows everyone. It's filled with bunch of uniquely diverse families; it's these unique families that make it the great place that it is. But even in the most serene places, there are dark secrets that are just waiting to be uncovered.
Elena Potato, is a spunky, adventurous girl whose family was new to Old Mill village and seemed like you average ordinary family… In fact, they were just that. Upon moving into their new household, Elena was "courted" by the neighborhood's busybodies, Patty and Mattie, who claim that being informed is one of the most important qualities to have. Elena soon discovers that next door to her lived a boy named Zick, who's claimed to have the ability to see monsters and lives in a haunted house with a deranged mother and a dangerous hairless cat. Upon being blacklisted herself, Elena's sense of adventure make's her curious about this boy and she ventures out to find out if the rumors or true.
Ezekiel Zick, is your un-average adolescent boy. He lives in a supposedly haunted house with his ghost grandparents, bald cat Timothy who can talk, and his "average" mother Greta. Zick is plagued by many allergies that make him an easy target for bullies and tends to keep to himself, that is, until a certain noisy girl marches into his life. With Elena's encouragement, Zick indulges himself further into the monster world and uncover things that he could have never imagined. Zick's and Elena's adventures are recorded as some of the greatest moments that Big Burg has "unseen"; but new adventures always have a funny way of finding these two.
Elena POV
Elena was grabbing her belongings for school and putting them in her backpack when her door suddenly flew open and her big, lovable cat Purrcy scurried in and hid under her bed and started quivering in fear.
"Purrcy?" Elena raised an eyebrow and looked under her bed "What's got you so scared?"
A small growl could be heard coming from the hallway and Purrcy let out a loud shriek before hiding back under the bed. Elena turned and see a big shadow creeping its way down the hall and to her room. As the shadow came into view, Elena gasped and realized…
"Bombolo!" Elena gaped at the little monster "What have I told you about playing in the toothpaste"
Bombolo's mouth was covered in foamy toothpaste giving the little monster the appearance of being rabid. The little monster gave a tiny growl trying to appear fierce and Elena giggled. Purrcy peaked from under the bed and glared at the little monster before leaving the room
"What's his problem?" Elena said picking Bombolo up who only shrugged in return. "Come on, let's get you clean" Elena said carrying him into the bathroom.
After cleaning Bombolo and placing him in his bed, Elena grabbed her backpack and rushed down the stairs. She ran past her mom who was busy feeding her baby brother and sister and ventured into the refrigerator. She quickly grabbed an apple from the top shelf, and rushed to the door when her mother appeared before her, blocking her path.
"And where do you think you going, young lady?" Julie Potato said crossing her hand over her chest
"I'm going to Zick's house" Elena tried to maneuver around her mother but was blocked each time
"If you have the time to go spend with another family, then you have the time to eat a meal with yours" Julie said pointing to the table
"But, mom" Elena began but her mom gave her a stern look, Elena groaned before dragging herself over to the table
Charlie and Violet giggled and pointed at the funny antics of their older sibling, Elena replied by sticking her tongue out playfully. After a while a completely disheveled, Harvey Potato walks into the room with a scowl on his face while trying to fix his tie. Julie rolled her eyes and walked over to her husband, she quickly straightened his tie and he grunted a thanks before taking his seat. Elena looked her dad up and down and noticed that he seemed to be in a bad mood, as her mother took a seat next to her Elena leaned over
"Mom, what's wrong with dad" she
Julie sighed and replied "Your fathers okay, he's just worried about this meeting with this important client"
"But this isn't just any client!" Harvey shrieked "This is Mr. Kingston!"
Elena looked at her mom who only shrugged
"Who?" she asked
"John Kingston is the proprietor of Celestial Kingdom Inc. One of the largest franchise this side of the world, it was a miracle to get him to come and review our business proposal. But, if he finds one thing out of place or doesn't like something, he could…" Harvey didn't finish his statement as he started to break out in a cold sweat and hyperventilate. (Dramatic much?)
Julie walked over behind her husband and started to rub his shoulders in a soothing motion, "It's Ok Harvey, just breath"
Elena finished the last bit of her food ignoring her parent's "moment" and grabbed her stuff and rushed out of the door yelling a farewell. She ran down the sidewalk to the huge next door house and hopped up the stairs, she banged on the door and waited for someone to answer.
A tall blond haired woman wearing glassed opened the door and gave Elena a huge smile
"Morning, Elena" she greeted as she moved to let the girl in "Zick's up in his room getting ready"
"Morning, Greta" Elena walked into the house and made her way upstairs. As she walked up the stairs she was greeted by the many monsters that took refuge in the Barrymore house. She ran up to Zick's door and knocked furiously
"Zick! Zick! Are you up?" Elena yelled
A groan could be heard from behind the door
Zick's POV
The blue haired teen groaned at the annoying knocking of his best friends and tried his best to ignore her for the time being, he was currently in pursuit of his shoes which were currently lodged into one of the many stomachs of his companion Bombo.
"How many times do we have to go through this, Bombo" Zick said digging farther inside the monster
"It was an accident, me promise" Bombo held his hand up into a scouts honor hand sign
"Yeah, yeah I've heard that before" Zick dug deeper and finally felt what he was looking for. He pulled his other shoe from the monster stomach and groaned as it was covered in green slime
"Aw man" Zick sighed and walked over to the door and opened it and was met with a very ticked Elena
"You know it's not nice to keep people waiting" she said walking in his room
"Sure" he replied and walked over to his dresser and took a wash cloth to wipe off the slime
"What is all this commotion?" Timothy asked walking into Zick's room
"Nothing, just the morning routine" Zick replied in a bored tone as he held up his now clean shoe. Timothy narrowed his eyes at Bombo who gave a cheesy smile and started whistling, Timothy sighed
"This is one routine that we could do without" Timothy said as he walked out of the room. As soon as Timothy was out of sight Bombo let out a huge breath
"That was close, me thought for sure Timothy would do something bad" Bombo
"Come on Bombo, if Timothy punished you every time you ate someone's shoes you'd be cat litter by now" Elena said patting Bombo on the head
"Me, no want to be kitty litter" Bombo jumped under Zick's sheets and started quivering
"Let's go, Elena" Zick grabbed his backpack and started for his door
"Alright" Elena said getting up and grabbing her things "Bye Bombo" she said as she closed the door
X-O-X-O-X-O-X-O-X-O
After their commute to school, Zick and Elena walked into their classroom and took a seat. They both seemed to notice that everyone was acting very strange.
"Zick" Elena leaned over
"Yeah" he replied
"Have you noticed that everyone…"
"Is acting stranger than usual, yes I have"
The door opened and a bunch of others kids ran into the classroom and took their seats, Annie and David both walked in holding each other's hands (Aww)
They both greeted Elena and Zick as they passed by and took their seats across from the other two
"So, did you guys hear?" Anna said placing her bag onto her desk
"Hear about what?" Zick asked
"Were supposed to be getting a new students soon, isn't it exciting" she gused
"What's so great about getting a new student, it's not all that great" Elena said playing with her hair as she remembered her first day
"Well, t-this new student is supposed to by this huge d-deal" David stuttered out
"Why's that" Zick said leaning over
David looked back and forth before leaning over "Supposedly, this new kids parents are some big wig people" he said
"Their parents were big wigs" Elena gasped
"N-No!" David shrieked "It means that they are rich, as in a lot of money" he gestured to show a large amount
"So basically, we're getting some rich, stuck up, pretty whoever, "great" Zick slurred the last part in exaggeration
"Not all rich people are stuck up, Zick" Annie giggled "That's a stereotype"
"Have you even meet a famous person before?" David asked
"Um, sure I have" Zick sneered and David raised an eyebrow questioningly
Annie chuckled "But saying all famous people are snobs, is like saying all bullies are unintelligent, right David?" Annie looked at David whose cheeks were bright pink
"R-right" he gushed out as the bell rung
The door opened and Patty walked in with an indifferent look on her face, she turned and faced the door and stomped her foot on the ground
"Come on!" she said with an angry tone
Mattie walked in the room with a slight stumble and that's when Zick noticed that something about her seem strange, well... stranger than usual. She actually looked "happy". Mattie's face was turned upward into a bright smile and she was looking like she had just got done letting a huge fart go.
"Oh, brother" Patty grabbed her arm and led her to their seat on the other side of the room, Mattie's expression didn't change at all
Ms. Smith soon walked into the room and all of the students (except Mattie) stood up and greeted her.
"Good morning class" she gave them a huge smiled "This week, we're going to start an exciting project" the students started to groan
"But today we're going to welcome our new student, please come in" she called to the door
All eyes turned to the door as it creaked open and a person walked in. The students held their breath as the student walked up to the front of the classroom next to Ms. Smith. She placed her hand on the students shoulder
"Everyone please give a warm welcome to, Ian Kingston" she said with a smile
The class gasped and started to whisper
Zick looked the boy up and down, flat black hair, forest green hoodie, black jeans, and expensive bright white shows.
Even though Zick had just glanced at this boy, he could already tell that he wouldn't like him.
Talk about judging a book by its cover, Zick
