It has been two weeks since the battle. Ponies are still recovering from the injuries and wounds that they received. It was the day of the memorial.
Ponies from all over came to grieve for their lost ones. It was being held in the Olympic sized ballroom. Pictures of the fallen ponies lined the stage with a picture of Icy Winds at the center.
All of the ponies wore black or gray, a ritual in any world. As the ponies lined the ballroom. I saw many sad faces. I knew tears would be spilled today.
Not to look to formal, none of the royal family did. We all wore simple, long black dresses. Of course the stallions wore tuxes. Everyone seemed to drag on. Slower than normal. Even Star seemed to sense the sadness in the air.
I stood on the stage with Millennium, Celestia, Northern, Star, my brother and sister, and my aunts and uncles, and my grandparents.
The maids pulled the drapes over the windows so it was dark and gloomy, perfect for everypony's moods. Celestia stepped up to the podium and tapped the mic.
"First of all I would truly like to thank you all for coming. With out the sacrifices that your friends, family or loved ones made we might not have won the war. We will always honor them. Now tears will be shed, I know that. Some might find things funny others will cry the entire time. Now is the time to let it out. We faced a death in my family as well. There will be some ponies coming up here to give small speeches. We have put together a slide show,to show the loved ones that fell during the war. Now they did not die for nothing. They died protecting this country and the families they care about." Celestia finished up.
Her horn started to glow and a large slideshow played. I could see the pictures of the fallen ponies with their families, them training hard, making funny faces, or just having a great time in general. I saw Icy winds and a picture of her husband with her new born Snowdrop. I saw her with all of her brothers and sisters. I saw many ponies that i knew.
Caveman, Sal, Hearts, Diamond Slice, Little Buck, Golden crust, Twisted vine, Admiral Kitanna, Star fangs... and they kept on playing we lost about 20 ponies. Thankfully no more than that.
The final picture was of all of them in a group. I shed a tear but blinked it away. The show ended I could hear sniffing and silent cries.
"Now it is time for the speeches." She spoke in the mic. About ten ponies came up from the audience and lined up on stage. Each one gave a warm and heartfelt speech.
Snowdrop has tears pouring down her face. I patted her back soothingly. "Now I welcome up Princess Snowdrop, Princess Icy Winds and Prince Blizzard's daughter." She said into the mic. Light clapping sounded.
She walked up to the stage with her head down. Her snow made mane and tail drooped.
"Thank you for letting me talk, today. I am not here to tell you how well I knew my mother. She was the best mother in the history of mothers, in my book. We were locked up in a statue for over a Milena and we disappeared along with the Frost kingdom. To say the truth, we never got along that well. We both were stubborn a lot so we never really talked, but just for the fact, I knew she loved me. Her and my father both did. When my father died it was hard on both of us. She snapped a lot more, but I could hear her crying every night. Then when Moonbeam came into our lives, it gave us new hope. She died protecting Moonbeam while she was giving birth, she sacrificed herself so that Moon and Star could live. I may have not got along with my mother, but she was an amazing mother and protector of the Everlasting Snowflake. Moonbeam became like my sister as i have no siblings. So I am proud of my mother and of Moonbeam. She was the mastermind behind all of this. She led us to victory with the help of all of the army, the royal siblings and the eternal rulers. So I pray that all of the fallen ones and my mother is watching over Equestria still keeping it safe and sound even in Heaven. They will never stop loving us. One day we will see them again soon. We thank every last one. Thank you." She wrapped it up.
Tears started pouring down my face after the second sentence. I hugged Snowdrop as she rejoined us. Everyone stood and applauded. The ceremony was over. And in a couple days there will be a coronation.
It will take time to heal, but I think we can push through.
