Hey guys! I've decided I'll be updating more recently from now on (but don't expect it to always be this recently), so here's another chapter as a treat!
Reason #38: There are shades of grey in Harry Potter
In Twilight, there are no shades of grey. Everything is depicted as black and white, good and evil. In Harry Potter, there are people who could be good and could be bad, and do things for both the good and bad sides. In Twilight, it's like a game with two teams: good team, and bad team. There is no in-between.
Reason #39: Harry Potter titles make sense
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. All of those titles make sense and have to do with the contents of the book. What relation does the word 'Twilight' have with the story being told there?
Reason #40: Better villains
Voldemort vs. James. Who would win? I don't know about you, but I'm putting my money on Voldy. Also, compare the Death Eaters (who we see torturing Muggles, witches, and wizards, killing, and fighting any who oppose them) the Volturi (do they ever actually kill anyone?). All in all, the villains in Harry Potter seem to have much more effective ways of reaching their goal of obtaining power and killing the opposition.
Reason #41: Better fight scenes in general
The fight scenes in Harry Potter are battles. There are casualties in the war to both sides, much like real battles, and action is shown. There is hiding and there is running and there is fighting and there is destruction. There is a mess. In Twilight, the fight scenes have no depth. No one from the good side dies, the bad guys are defeated anyways, there's nothing to show that there was a battle at all. It's too clean and too easy to be captivating at all.
Reason #42: Hard work as well as intelligence reap results.
Hermione studies constantly to get good grades, because they're important to her. She's intelligent, but she also works hard. Does Bella even do homework after the first book?
Reason #43: There are differing levels of wealth in Harry Potter.
Take the Weasleys, who don't have much money and have to scrimp and save to get their kids schoolbooks and clothes every year. Do you see anything like that in Twilight?
Reason #44: Twilight isn't unique.
It's the classic Romeo and Juliet-type love story, but with a little more sparkling and a happier ending. Harry Potter is a story you won't find anywhere else in literature. It's completely unique and completely amazing.
Reason #45: Twilight has one character to relate to.
As I've mentioned, Bella is made to be a relatable character for teen girls. But she is the only relatable character in the book, while in Harry Potter there is a character for everyone to relate to. People who are poorer can relate to the Weasleys, people overshadowed by siblings can relate to Ron, class clowns can relate to the twins or to the Marauders, bookish people can relate to Hermione. No matter what age you are or characteristics you have, there is a way for you to relate to at least one character in Harry Potter.
Thank you to Sage Weasley for reason #45, and to all the commenters for your support and corrections, I really appreciate it. You guys are all great!
