Prompt: Another Day
Pairing: Caboose/Wash
!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!
It has been a month. One month from the day. Wash was surprised it had gone by so fast, but enjoyed that they had made it this far. Oh yes, today was his one month anniversary that he had began to date Caboose. Normally he wouldn't worry about such a small time anniversary. Mainly because it's not that much of an accomplishment. If it was normal to celebrate small anniversary's than that's what Wash would do. However it's not like people celebrate being together one week, or even one day. A month is a long time to be together Wash would admit that, but all that meant was that they have spent all full month on a planet in the middle of nowhere and are still there. Maybe that was why Wash was more than reluctant to celebrate.
However when Caboose woke him up that morning Wash knew there would be a celebration, a big one too. Mainly because he was greeted with a sloppy good morning kiss from Caboose and a happy cheer from the blue soldier. Caboose was more than thrilled that they had made it this long together. His relationship with Wash was his longest relationship he had ever had. His last relationship had ended the day before their one month, and since he was able to reach one month with Wash, he wanted to celebrate it greatly.
"Wake up Wash. Let's go make breakfast together. Then we can spent all day together. Just you and me. I told Tucker to get lost for the day." Caboose said happily as he latched onto Wash's arm and pulled the other into a sitting position. Wash was still tired and reluctant to sit up but did none the less for Caboose. At least he wouldn't have to see Tucker today. That was one plus side to everything. Honestly Wash didn't want no big celebration, but went along with what Caboose had planned. So he got out of bed to get dressed for the day. A pair of faded jeans and a hooded that matched his freelancer armor colors. Caboose was already dressed and up for the day. Wash smiled and followed him out of their room and down the hall. Soon they were in the kitchen.
"Now we can make breakfast together. What do you want Caboose?" Wash asked as he moved around the small kitchen to get things ready. Even though he had asked Caboose what he wanted, he already knew the answer. Caboose always wanted the same thing for breakfast.
"Pancakes!" Caboose yelled gleefully as he ran around the kitchen to collect what they needed for the pancakes. Once everything was ready he watched as Wash mixed the batter. Caboose loved his pancakes with blueberries and chocolate chips mixed in the batter, toped with whipped cream and cherries. So that's how they were prepared. Once the stack of pancakes was done, Caboose made a heart with the whipped cream on the top pancake and positioned the cherries the way he liked them. They would share the one stack together. Once they were full they washed the dishes they moved into the main room to lay out on the couch like they always do. Caboose laying out on the couch with Wash basically sitting in his lap.
Caboose had asked Wash to read a book or two to him. Mainly because he officially asked Wash out over a note in the end of a book even though they had confessed their feelings for each other before that. Wash expected this to be like the last time they read a book together. Although this time around Tucker wasn't there. Which neither of them really minded. Because of the previous time reading Wash expected there to be a note at the end of the book, which there was. Wash had no idea Caboose could be this romantic.
Happy Anniversary Wash. You are my best friend. Not Church. You said we can be anything we wanted to be, like in the books. I want you to be with me forever! So no getting hurt or anything.
"Aw thank you Caboose. So sweet." Wash said as he took the note out of the book to put up later. Wash really appreciated the two notes that Caboose had wrote him. Caboose smiled but didn't say anything before moving Wash out of his lap and guiding him out of the base with a promise of a surprise. Wash complied without question. Caboose had guided him onto the ship and out with a different exit. They both ended up on the top of the valley walls. There was the most prefect view ever from where Wash was standing. Absolutely stunning.
"Caboose it's beautiful up here." Wash said stunned as he looked over the land surrounding where they were. Of in the distance Wash could see a large body of water, maybe an ocean but Wash couldn't be sure. Caboose nodded at his statement.
"Beautiful like you." Caboose said seriously looking down at Wash. Wash rolled his eyes.
"What did I say about calling me beautiful?" Wash asked crossing his arms over his chest. Caboose smiled shyly at Wash, for this had been a reocurrying thing for the two of them when they had first entered a relationship and Wash was not pleased to be called pretty and nice things like such. Caboose had hoped Wash was over that. However he was not, Wash didn't want to be known as pretty or beautiful. Mainly because that's how people would describe a woman, and he was no woman.
"Right sorry Wash." Caboose said passively. He didn't want to anger Wash on their one month anniversary afterall. It was supposed to be a good day for the both of them. So they stayed up there talking for hours. Soon the sun had began to set. Wash was shocked that they had stayed up there all day. Dusk had overcome the land and they were soon going back to the base but they stopped when the looked up. They watched as a bright dot made its way across the night sky. A meteor. They stopped and watched for more, and sure enough a meteor shower had broken out. It was amazing, for Wash had never experienced anything like that in his life.
However the shower was over just as quick as it had started. Caboose was slightly disappointed because he had excited to see the falling dots light up the sky. It was an almost perfect ending for their day and Caboose couldn't have hoped for anything better. Soon they had made their way back down to the base to close the day. Once they got there, Wash immediately changed into his sleep gear and went to bed. Wishing Caboose once again a happy anniversary. Caboose returned the praise with a promise of protecting Wash from nightmares. To that, they went to sleep.

I saw some MAJOR OC from both Wash and Caboose but I can't find myself to care all that much. I enjoyed writing this so much and I am glad that Z had requested it from me.
Sorry Z, I didn't stick with all that you wanted. I took out the dinner they were supposed to have on the cliff face, and them catching fireflies. However I added the breakfast(like the one on our Christmas story) and I hinted to some of the other Drabbles if you didn't notice. I had to make it acceptable and I hope it wasn't that bad. At least it was longer than some of the others.
Anyway if you liked it Review! If not then…sucks to suck doesn't it? Anyway… BYE!
