So I lied to everyone when I said that the last drabble was nothing like the rest of them. For this Drabble and this drabble ONLY, I will keep it like the last one. With Doc and them. Only because I need to mention the last drabble in this one for it to make any sense. After this, it will go back to the way it was before the latest one. Just think of this one as a continuation of the last. That's the best way I can explain it to you all.

Anyway thanks for the reads and reviews. Really appreciate it in these tough times that my family is going through. Means a lot to me. Enjoy and Review!

Prompt: Sick

Pairing: Caboose/Wash

The winter had fallen into the valley roughly. The first couple of weeks it had not been so bad, but when the snow came in, the temperatures began to drop rapidly. Leaving everyone in the valley to try to prepare themselves best. Reds had built a heater for their base with the help of Sarge. However it ran on solar power and was placed underground without the knowledge of how it worked. Now it was much to cold for them to dig it up so they were doing what the Blues were. Trying their best to keep warm.

Before the winter had settled in, Wash took some tarps and large pieces of wood to seal up the base from the cold. He managed to do so, successfully keeping most of the cool air out. However the Base was still cold because of the draft. Tucker had took the covers from Caboose's bed to keep for himself. Neither Caboose or Wash minded, it was only fair afterall. Caboose and Wash had each other to keep warm, while Tucker had no one.

A couple of days previously, Wash had moved Vant's cat house into his and Caboose's room. Vant had grown into his winter coat, but still got cold some nights and required an old blanket to successfully keep the panther cub warm through the nights. Wash had found some extra blankets in a storage closet from the last time he had gone into the ship. Wash was thankful for planning ahead and bringing them back with him.

As of right now it was early in the morning. Much earlier than it normally was when Wash woke up in the mornings. After catching a glimpse at the clock, Wash had found out it was barely two thirty in the morning. Wash groaned as he wondered why he had woken up. After searching for warmth in the bed Wash found out it was because Caboose had gotten out of bed. Wash assumed it was because Caboose most likely had to use the bathroom. Wash's assumption had been right when he heard the familiar flush of a toilet(it had taken them so long to get a working plumbing system) and then Caboose enter the room.

Since waking up a few minutes ago Wash deducted that Caboose not being in the bed wasn't the only reason why he had woken up. While sitting in bed waiting for Caboose to come back, Wash felt the all too familiar feel of his throat beginning to hurt. Wash groaned, knowing it was because he did not have the shot like everyone else had and now was starting to get sick. Wash slightly regretted not getting the shot, knowing pretty soon he will be miserable. Caboose climbed back into bed, wrapping his arms around the now awake Wash.

"Sorry for waking you up Wash. Go back to sleep." Caboose told Wash quietly, trying not to scare Wash. Wash nodded and went back to bed like Caboose asked him to do. The next time Wash woke up it was about six in the morning. Caboose was still asleep next to him. Normally Wash would get out of bed to make breakfast for everyone but a headache had formed during his sleep and now Wash only wanted to sleep more. However he had duties as the commander of Blue teams. Even if it meant getting up during the middle of winter while sick to make breakfast it is what he had to do.

So Wash got out of bed drowsily. His stomach began to hurt as well, Wash hoped he didn't get sick and puke or anything like that. That would be the worst in his opinion. Wash began to change, but halfway putting on his old hoodie from his Freelancer days, Wash's head began to spin, and just like that, he was beginning to fall. Luckily Caboose had decided to get out of bed around the same time Wash had, and was there to catch Wash before the ex-Freelancer could fall.

"Washington? Is something wrong?" Caboose asked with full concern in his voice. Wash groaned lightly and waved his hand lightly, to show Caboose that he was just fine. Caboose, not believing Wash, helped the other back over to the bed and laid Wash on the mattress. He pulled the hoodie off of Wash, since it was only halfway on when Wash had almost passed out.

"Wash are you sick? I knew this would happen. You should have gotten the shot instead of me. Now you are sick and you almost passed out. Wash are you going to die!? You can't die Wash! I love you too much! You have to get better!" Caboose declared with worry evident in his voice. Wash winced lightly at Caboose's screams but was glad that Caboose was worried about him.

"I'm. Not…Not going to die…Caboose. Just a little…s-sick." Wash panted out hoarsely. His voice was fading into a scratchy whisper. The sickness had come in full blow, making him uncomfortably hot but at the same time unexplainably cold. Caboose frowned lightly but said nothing, only taking one of Wash's hands in his while stroking the sick ex-Freelancer's face until he was comfortable.

"Do you want me to go get you some soup. Or something to drink?" Caboose asked after a couple minutes of silence. Wash let his eyes flutter open, not knowing when they had fallen in the first place. Wash gave Caboose a pleading look for any kind of remedy for his sickness. Caboose nodded before leaving to get a bottle of water, figuring it would work best for his lovers sore throat.

I got some water. If that's okay." Caboose said coming back into the room. He had ignored the cold that has been surrounding him since he got out of bed. He didn't have time to worry about himself, Wash was sick because of him and he had to take care of Wash no matter what. It was important that Wash got better as soon as possible. Once he was back next to their bed he opened the water bottle carefully before handing it to Wash. Caboose watched as Wash chugged the water quickly to soothe his throat. Once Wash was done he handed it back over to Caboose.

"Thank you." Wash said with his voice only slightly and temporarily restored. Wash was grateful that Caboose was trying his best to help him out. Caboose only wished there was something more he could do for Wash. He could go to Doc and ask for medicine, but it was far to cold to do as such so Caboose was out of luck.

Although Caboose wanted to do more for him, Wash was happy for what Caboose was doing. Just being there for him was enough to help Wash get better. Wash asked Caboose to get back in bed, saying it was the best way for Wash to get comfortable in hopes of sleeping off the sickness. Caboose hesitantly did that, climbing back in under the covers with Wash. Almost immediately, Wash was back in his arms, snuggling into the comforting warmth that Caboose offered.

With that Wash fell back into sleep, much more comfortable than he was when he was awake. Caboose was glad for this and hoped that his sickness will blow over soon enough. He wanted Wash to be back in full health soon. Wash slept all through the day and didn't wake back up until around ten that evening. Surprised and slightly hungry he was glad to see Caboose there with a warm bowl of soup. He may be sick but Wash at least had Caboose there to help him get better.

I enjoyed this one almost as much as I liked the last one. I mean I had to make a sick Wash. I just couldn't resist. Besides usually when I am sick, I will make the people in my stories suffer as well and I feel a cold coming. Anyway, hope you liked it.

After this it will go back to the way it was. No more Donut or Doc until later. I will bring them back eventually. Just not now. Please Review. Thank you!
