Prompt: Storm
Pairing: Caboose/Wash

The clouds overhead that day were dark and heavy with water. Ready to burst and smoother the valley with an rain-ice-snow mix. It was cold, but not cold enough to be snow just yet. Wash assumed it would sleet for a while before it would actually snow. The only good thing was that he was no longer sick, and wasn't as cold as he was when he was ill.
Caboose knew that Wash wasn't all that excited about the oncoming weather, but he sure was. Caboose loved all forms of precipitation. Rain, Sleet, Hail, Snow…whatever it was Caboose enjoyed it. So when Wash had informed him of the weather soon to come, Caboose was ready. He had pulled on some old jeans a hoodie and a coat over that so he can just the hood to protect his head. Wash strongly advised him not to go outside, but Caboose really did want to.
"Caboose. You can't go out there. Its going to sleet first. Wait until it starts to snow. Then we can go and play in the snow." Wash offered as he cleaned the dishes from that days dinner. Wash stopped to give Vant a quick snack before continuing to clean. Caboose was standing in the doorway, ready to head outside when Wash had stopped him. As much as Caboose really wanted to go outside, he knew better than to ignore what Wash had said to him. Wash only made rules because he cared.
"Okay Washingtub. I will stay in here…" Caboose said sadly as he slowly walked to sit at the table. His posture reflected one of sadness and Wash had felt bad. He didn't want to hurt Caboose's feelings. He just wanted to make sure that Caboose was safe. Wash could not assure that in sleeting weather. Wash sighed and put the last dish away before drying his hands and turned to look over at Caboose.
"I guess we can go look outside for a little bit. Not to long though. After it starts to snow then we can go back outside to play in the snow. How does that sound?" Wash asked as he crossed his arms over to his chest, showing the reluctance he had to go out in the weather as it was. Caboose however seemed very pleased and immediately jumped from the table in joy, startling Vant as he did so.
"Oh thank you Wash! Thank you!" Caboose cheered happily before running over and picking Wash up in his arms. He carried Wash, halfway of his shoulder and protesting to be put down, into their room and set him on the bed. Caboose scrambled to find some warm clothes for Wash to wear as the ex-Freelancer collected himself, obviously not pleased about being carried.
"Here you can wear this! Oh and this! This is mine but I don't care if you wear it." Caboose said handing Wash clothes as he picked them up. Caboose had handed him a pair of his own jeans, a warm sweater that was also his, and then Caboose's extra coat. Wash pulled his clothes on, blushing as he pulled Caboose's coat over his arms and zipped it up. It was big on him but he didn't mind.
"Now can we go?" Caboose asked with excitement. Wash rolled his eyes but smiled none the less. Wash nodded and head and was once again slung over Caboose's shoulder. Wash yelped and yelled at Caboose as they went through the Base, "Caboose! Stop carrying me!"
"No!" Caboose called and burst out the door of the base. It surprisingly wasn't even sleeting. The ice rain had stopped awhile ago and it was snowing heavily. Caboose was happy and excited to see the snow he almost dropped Wash but kept his grip on the other firm as he tried to contain the joy he had. Finally he set Wash on the group lightly as to not hurt him.
"Hey look. It is snowing isn't it?" Wash pointed out, holding his hand up and letting some snowflakes land on the palm of his hand and melt almost immediately. Caboose watched in an interested gaze before trying it out himself. Wash smiled and bent over to take some snow into his bare hands. He himself enjoyed the cool that it brought to his fingers.
"How about we make a snowman. We can name it Church. If you want to." Wash offered bashfully, not wanting to remind Caboose that he lost his friend. Caboose just smiled and shrugged it off like it didn't mean anything.
"Lets make a big snowman and a smaller snowman!" Caboose offered and Wash nodded before moving to roll up some large snow balls. Caboose made the larger snowman mainly because it was easier for him to haul the tightly pack snow around while Wash set on the smaller. Soon they had the two snowmen standing together. Caboose went on to make two more about the size of the smaller one. He then fixed them up to look like people.
The first one on the far right was given a frown and an angry face out of materials that Wash had gathered earlier. Caboose went to retrieve 4 scarves and Wash could see where this was going. The one on the far right was given a light blue scarf. Which deemed it Church. The one beside the Church snowman was the taller one and Caboose made that one himself, with a smile on his face and blue scarf and everything. The next one was of course Wash, complete with a pale yellow scarf and bored expression. The last one was Tucker, given a teal scarf and a normal expression. Caboose stepped back to admire their work.
"You forgot someone." Wash pointed out to Caboose. Caboose frowned and shook his head.
"Doc was not on our team. I didn't like Sister or Tex. Who I am missing." Caboose asked and Wash laughed lightly. Wash then bent down in the snow and made a small figure out of the packed snow. It was a cat. Vant. Wash placed Vant in-between his and Caboose's snowmen.
"Almost done…" Caboose noted before making a small snowman like the cat. It was just slightly bigger and placed right next to Tucker. The scarf was long enough to touch the figure so Caboose wrapped it slightly around the snowman. Junior. After doing Junior, Caboose and Wash decided on making Tex right next to Church, even going to get a black scarf. Then they made a Sister and placed her next to Tucker. A brighter yellow scarf was placed around the snowman no-snowwoman.
Wash and Caboose even went so far to make the Reds along with the Doc beside the Sister snowwoman. Soon they were done. Each snowman had their respectable scarf to signify who they were. It went from Tex, Church, Caboose, Vant, Wash, Tucker, Junior, Sister, Grif, Simmons, Sarge, Donut and then finally Doc. They both smiled at their creations, with their family of snowmen. Now only if they had enough scarves to make Wash's Freelancer family…

I know that this was supposed to be Storm but it somehow ended up like this. I don't know how but it did. However I like it this way. Really cute and fun to write. I have no idea what I am going to do next but I will cross that bridge when it I get to it.
