Steve knew after the first couple of hours waiting for me there was no point in looking any further, he had the same training as I did and knew that if I didn't want to be found then no-one would find me; he was back in his office and doing every kind of paperwork he had put off so he wouldn't have to go home alone and face the mess that was his family. Chin and Kono had been sent home a couple of hours ago and told to come back tomorrow to start work again with a clean slate, this was his problem and only Danno was refusing to budge after being yelled at – he was just back from spending a couple of hours with Gracie who had been released back home and spending time with Uncle Matt who had come over to babysit for him. Danny looked up from his own desk and saw Steve with his hands in his hair leaning on his desk, he looked exhausted and royally fucked up in the head; he took a deep breath and headed over to his partner.

"Alright Steve, on your feet soldier boy – if you won't rest then you need to come with me for a while!" Danno called as he opened the door.

"I'm not in the mood Daniel – you may have noticed I have to get my head around the fucked up world of Steven McGarrett before I go loco!" he replied.

Danno chucked some gloves on the table and Steve looked up, they were his gym sparing gloves and he looked up at Danno who grinned.

"There is a martial arts class going on in the gym in ten minutes, might help you clear your head and get back into fighting mode?"

Steve looked at the gloves and then Danno before smirking; he grabbed the gloves and followed his partner out of the office and down the stairs towards the basement where they saw a crowd of SWAT members watching an instructor get organised for the class about to begin. They both headed to the changing rooms and got sorted out for the workout ahead of them, Steve at least was familiar with these martial arts, Danno knew how to box and a little Muay Thai – this was a whole other ball game.

After the instructor got the group warmed up and separated into who knew martial arts and complete beginners, Steve and Danno headed their separate ways and into the assigned groups for the training class; the workout was hard core and brutal as most MA's are, but Steve was relaxing into the workout and he could feel the stress coming off his shoulders as he sparred off with another instructor who recognised him from BUDS training and went over to re-introduce himself. They spent the next hour facing each other and getting in sly digs about pranks played and recent events, they were having a good time and the main instructor ended up having to go over and separate them since the class finished ten minutes ago. They shook each other off and promised a class reunion in the future as Danno came back over limping slightly but smiling like an idiot after his training.

"Well, you sucked up to him pretty well – does Sadie have competition?" he joked.

Both men looked around as they heard a small laugh, no one else was in the gym and they shook it down to a noise outside as they turned to head back towards the changing room and disappeared down the stairs; a few minutes later another man came back up the stairs and looked around the room.

"Alright Sarah, get your arse down here now and explain yourself?"

I was sitting up on the catwalk about twenty foot in the air, it was nice and cool up here and my usual hiding hole where I went to think about things when I was stressed out; I grabbed my bag and slipped down the rope halfway and then dropped onto the mats into a crouch. The man looked at me as I straightened up and he smiled.

"Sarah Anna McGregor, first team SIC and…." He started as he hugged me.

"IN VERY SERIOUS TROUBLE WITH HER BOSS!" a voice boomed out the stairwell.

We both turned around to face Steve walking in our direction with a face like thunder, I knew he had recognised the laugh I let slip at the joke but had hoped he thought it was from outside – oh well.

"Steve this isn't the time for an argument, we have some serious problems!" I replied.

"Like you running out of the house with a full blown concussion and then driving about the place for the last several hours? Like not being in contact with any of us after the shit-fest in the house with our visitors – what the hell were you thinking?"

"I was thinking that I needed to get away from the house before I put a bullet in two people, including our old CO at Coronado – remember him – the one who has lied to you for the last twenty odd years and then betrayed you again? Or do you want me to start on the lying bag of shit that is Doris – she needs a fucking Library of Congress to fit her story into!"

"That's enough, both of you!" shouted a voice from the main door.

We all turned around and Jones snapped to attention as he saw Joe walk into the gym with a face like thunder, I rolled my eyes and walked away so I wouldn't end up shooting him if he looked at me the wrong way. Steve watched me in case I decided to disappear again but I sat on the bench instead and rubbed my temples, my headache was back and my concussion was far from better – more likely to be worse since I hadn't rested and the arguments were causing blood pressure elevation.

"Sarah where have you been the last few hours, you shouldn't be running off with that concussion untreated!" Joe called gently.

"Oh now you start caring what happens to us, twenty odd years late Joe!" I replied tersely.

"I get that you are pissed at me and you have a very valid reason to be, both of you do; but you don't have all the facts about what happened that day; Doris and I came to the house to explain the full story but whatever has happened between the two of you has caused some pretty deep issues that need taped over until this has been dealt with." He replied.

I looked up at the three men and sighed as I closed my eyes, I knew he had a point and it was just sheer anger at her actions that boiled my blood – she was a lovely woman and I had some serious unresolved issues I needed to talk to Steve about when I had a chance. I managed to get up off the bench and make my way over to them; I nodded gently to his open hand and went to grab my bag that was on the floor. I turned around after picking it up and my vision swam in front of my eyes, I closed my eyes and leaned out to the wall to steady myself; the others were about to leave the room when Jones turned back to me and shouted loudly as I fell to my side and landed on the mat in a heap.

"Sadie!"

I felt hands on me, turning me on my side from my back and fingers finding my pulse under my chin and cursing, they rolled me onto so I was tilted to check for bullet holes as they did their medic checks.

"Her pulse is weak and thready, her breathing is laboured – has she been injured recently?" Jones demanded as he checked me over.

Joe was on the phone for an ambulance and Steve was kneeling beside me checking my pupil reaction, I flinched as he used the small torch on his side arm and clenched my eyes shut at the blinding pain in my head. I could feel hands go over my chest and stomach to check for any open wounds or injuries, Steve stopped him.

"Sadie, if he is here to help us I need to show him?" he whispered.

"Worst my stomach," I replied.

He raised my shirt up slightly and showed Jones the massive bruising across my stomach and side, the probe marks were clearly visible among the bruises and Jones looked up at Steve. He was a SEAL himself and he knew my history from Skapa training, the reason I had called on his help tonight, backup from his team would be vital if we were going to go after WoFat and the Yakuza he had around him.

"She was captured and tortured just less than 24 hours ago by WoFat and has a small hairline fracture and serious concussion – she said she felt better after a couple of hours in the hospital but obviously she was lying!"

Jones just stared at me as he ran his hands down my ribs and across my abdomen to check for swelling and tenderness.

"She took one hell of a beating Steve, doesn't feel like there are any broken bones, just deep tissue damage and bruising – cattle prod?" he replied.

"Affirmative, a powerful one at that and she was water boarded too – she fought for twelve hours and they let her go – she hasn't said anything else about the event since!"

"Jesus, I want this bastard now!" Jones replied as he saw the lights from the paramedics at the fire exit door.

Joe went across and opened them up and they came running in with the stretcher and took over the first aid that Jones and Steve had been doing, he passed over all the information and they put an oxygen mask over my face as they checked my vitals on the machine. I was mostly conscious through the exam and they looked up at the two men when they saw the bruising, they raised an eyebrow and Steve showed them my military ID and blamed training accident a couple of days ago.

"We need to go to Tripler, her pupils are unequal and there is possible swelling under her skull!" the paramedic shouted.

They got me lifted onto the stretcher and by this time Danno was coming back up from the changing room and saw me being lifted on to the stretcher; he ran over and watched as they strapped me in.

"What happened, when the hell did she get back to HQ?" he demanded.

"About an hour ago, she was hiding in the rafters during our workout, Jones spotted her first and then I came in. Danny, can you go with her, I need to speak to Jones and Joe and then I'll meet you at the hospital – call me if they give you any grief about protocol!"

Danny nodded and headed with the paramedics to the ambulance, he climbed in after them as they got me fastened down and secured for transport; they had to stop to let me be sick and then rolled me back onto my side with increased oxygen flow and a bucket beside me. Danno took my hand and sat opposite me, he looked worried and frustrated as hell.

"I told you jumping out of the window were a bad move – your brain got bashed around again! Where have you been, we've been worried sick in case something had happened!"

"Sorry Danno, didn't mean to cause you more worry on top of Gracie!" I whispered.

"Do me a favour huh, let them treat you this time and get out of hospital by their decision and not yours; if shit is going to hit the fan then I rather have you on full health bar than concussed and incoherent!" he replied.

I grinned and my eyes rolled back slightly, the paramedic stuck me with a sharp pin and I jerked back awake; I growled at him and he frowned as my skin went pale as a sheet – he just managed to roll me slightly so I could be sick again.

"Edwards – punch the lights!" he shouted to the driver.
