I groaned as the vehicle sped up and I felt Danny hold my hands tighter, he was squeezing them every few seconds to keep me conscious as he had been told to by the EMT; he wasn't liking the sound of the monitor and he knew by the lines that my STATS were jumping about all over the place.

"We'll be at Tripler in a few moments, keep her conscious until we get there and then wait in the area marked out – she'll be in good hands Detective!"

Five minutes later the ambulance screeched to a halt and I was pulled out of the vehicle and wheeled in quickly to the trauma unit where the team was waiting on me, they got the immediate off the EMTs and then dove straight in with their own checks and getting me out of my clothes which they thankfully didn't cut me out of this time! I felt pinches on the back of my hands again and started to cough again, they rolled me to my side and I threw up again and again – my throat was burning and I raised my fingers up to my mouth.

"Doctor she's bringing up blood in her vomit and you need to see this!" a nurse called.

The doctor moved from my head to the middle of my body, I could hear the small gasp as the nurse raised the blanket from across my middle, he looked down at me and then ordered a full set of tests and medications before kneeling down beside me.

"Corporal McGregor, your injuries are mainly deep bruising but your vitals and concussion is giving us concern and we are going to keep you in for a minimum of one night; were taking you up to the ICU and you know the protocol for concussions. I need to ask, have you been a victim of assault by your partner, the damage to your skin shows sign of abuse and you have bruising across your breasts and thighs?"

I shook my head and groaned loudly as the pain came crashing back to me and I shuddered on the bed as I clenched my teeth and broke out in a sweat, the black spots across my vision were making me seriously dizzy and I just wanted to close my eyes. I felt strong fingers on my face and the doctor looked me straight in the eyes.

"Corporal you will stay awake, that is a direct order! You must keep your eyes open for me for the next hour, no excuses – after that then you can rest once we have the test results from your blood work-up."

"Yes sir, will do my best!" I whispered.

The doctor turned to the nursing team and ordered the tests required and asked the EEG and ECG to be moved into the room for observation over an hour; he turned to the other man in the room and asked him to keep the MRI and CT scanner ready in case they needed it overnight. He turned back to me and administered the medication through my IV and the pain finally began to recede.

Back in the HQ, Steve had let Joe bring up Jones to speed about what had happened over the last few months and what WoFat had done to me, he was absorbing all the news as they made their way back up to the offices where they could work out what the hell was going on and find out why Jones had been called in by me. They made themselves comfortable in his office and Steve sat on his chair and rubbed his face as he pulled out three beers from the fridge – he needed this one tonight – no questions asked from anyone!

"Sarah called me a week ago about some information she needed from JSOC, information regarding one of my missions from last year; I tried to get more information from her but she only gave me sketchy information that I knew was half true. I know Sarah is trained like us; I met her at Skapa and was her close quarter's instructor along with Mitchell when they brought the SEALs in to train them after the Commando's. The last I actually had heard from her was that she was back in Hawaii and a cop – surprised the hell out of me when I found out that she worked for you Steve!"

"She's been here for just over three years, still part of the army reserves attached to Pearl and now part of the US forces; she's also a member of my task force and a damn good one – do you know what she has been investigating or who?" Steve replied.

Jones nodded and went to grab his kit bag from beside the door, he handed a small flash drive to him and pointed at that like it was a loaded bomb.

"She was investigating an old CIA/NSA operation from twenty years ago that involved a senior agent going deep undercover to expose Yakuza and terrorist cells working inside US soil and possible military installations. She seemingly overheard scuttlebutt about a woman who had married into the Yakuza top brass and was working at getting sensitive information from the very top of the food chain – whoever this woman was got a lot of information to the right people and it helped the agencies take down certain elements of the gangs out across the world. Unfortunately something we don't even know happened and the woman was killed in a car bomb while she was in Hawaii – her husband was distraught when he heard the news in Japan and started to have a mental breakdown. He was accused of being a spy by the head of the Yakuza at that time and a young police officer by the name of WoFat put a bullet into him – a few days later he discovered that he had killed his own father and he blamed this woman for poisoning him against his family. The WoFat we know now was born during that week and he became ruthless to everyone he knew and took over the family business and set up shop in different parts of the business."

Joe looked at Steve and blew out a lot of steam, things were starting to make sense now and he was getting the bigger picture of what I had discovered and why I was so pissed off at Doris – she had betrayed Steve's dad and fallen for a Yakuza – she had willingly left her family and decided on a stranger above her own children.

"You know something about this already, what is it?" Jones asked spotting the look.

"The woman who was undercover is my mother, she faked her death twenty years ago to make sure we stayed safe in Hawaii – she is the reason that we are in this mess and Sadie went ballistic at her earlier on – she hates her for what she has done to her family and basically went primal bear on her – it was pretty bad." Steve replied.

Jones leaned back in the chair and blew out a gust of air as he ran his hands over his bald head; it sure as hell explained a few things and why he was called down so curtly from the mainland and why he was now going to have to break some more news to them both.

"Alright guys, this is a lot bigger than we can deal with right now and I need to go report this development at Pearl with my superiors – there is a task force being created as we speak and it's a select group of people who know about WoFat and his history; my guess is that when the superiors hear about this news, they are going to demand you and Sarah join them for a briefing and possibly join them for the task force if a takedown is confirmed."

"Sarah can't join a task force at Pearl, only one specialist team is aware of her training and she has always kept her silence; is the brass willing to expose the truth about the training?" Joe inquired surprised.

"Clearance came from top level, only the base commander, 2IC and the SEAL teams will be made aware of her training, but not before they meet her. Can I suggest you get some rest, it will be a couple of weeks before we are ready for the briefing due to current missions and recovery times?"

Jones stood up and looked at them both, they stood up and shook hands on it, agreeing to keep in contact with any more information they got from sources or from me when I was recovered. Steve saw Jones out and just before he left he turned to Steve and smiled.

"When I trained Sarah she was one of my best students, she poured everything she was into her training and she was damn good at her job; how has she been working with you and your task force – is she still active with this team who is aware of her training?"

"She is amazing in the task force, a true warrior to be reckoned with – she loves everyone she works with and will do everything she can to protect them; unfortunately we both drive them nuts since we jump into situations at a blink of an eye and get the job done quickly and without the usual protocol being followed. You may have guessed that she is more to me than a colleague, it has only strengthened this team and we have grounded her when she needed it – she was unwell for the first few months due to her injuries and PTS she suffered," Steve explained.

"Yeah I heard that she was captured over in Afghanistan and tortured, she is a survivor and from what she told me of everyone over the phone she is damn proud to be here with you all. You may hear some upsetting information when the briefing is called, everything about her past is to be brought up and she will have questions thrown at her from all angles due to the Sparx programme. She has an amazing reputation within the higher ranks and we are very proud of how she has displayed herself – are you aware she is formally now US Forces – the paperwork was approved by Olympus and she is due for a promotion – that was one of the good pieces of information I was looking forward to telling her about!"

Steve just blinked in shock.

"She's to be promoted, about time too – she deserves it after so much dedicated hard work during the cases we have worked with the military and HPD – do you know any details?"

"I'll find out for you and tell you tomorrow when I come back during more civilised hours! Go to Tripler and see your woman McGarrett, kick her ass if she doesn't behave and then get her well again so she can kick ass with the rest of us!"

They shook hands again and parted ways.
