TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! I feel so old and I can't believe that I am 16. I miss my childhood but dang, I am 16! IT'S CRAZY! It's almost over too!
This one is a continuation of the last. The reason being I because there was something I left out in the last story that made me hate myself. I mean it wouldn't take that much to write anyway. It would have been like maybe a paragraph more or so and I left it out. It was far too important to leave out. So I am dedicating this next chapter to it.
As you know if you paid attention to the last Drabble, it mentioned that Wash's Father had spent most of his time writing letters to someone. I was going to mention it in the last Drabble but failed at life and now I am writing this. REMEMBER THE LETTERS!

Pairing: Caboose/Wash

Caboose was looking around some of the old closets. The closest was filled with items that belonged the members of Blue Team. Most of it was stuff that they had managed to carry with them over the years. Couple of boxes of miscellaneous stuff. Caboose was searching through them for no real reason. The tallest of the Blues wanted to know all that was in the boxes. So he set aside the time to actually search through the boxes.
While looking through the boxes, mainly finding Tucker and his own things, Caboose had managed to stumble upon some of Wash's items. At first Caboose didn't want to intrude and look through the items, but in the end his curiosity got the better of him and he couldn't stop himself from opening the box that belonged to Wash. The box was normal and kind of old looking, like it had been locked away for sometime.
Caboose assumed after Wash was fired from Project Freelancer that the Director had all of his belongs packed up and sent away. Caboose would have never thought that they would end up on the ship they happened to ride on. The box was unopened. Caboose believed that Wash either didn't want to open it, or forgot to look in it. Either way, Caboose knew that he was intruding Wash's personal belongings and hoped that it wouldn't be that bad.
So Caboose grabbed a butter knife from the kitchen and used it to tear of the tape from the box. Carefully and kind of paranoid like, Caboose was afraid he would get caught doing something wrong, the Blue soldier lifted the cardboard tags to reveal the treasure on the inside.
In the box was nothing but letters. All were addressed to Wash as well. None of the letters had been opened so Caboose assumed that Wash had not even known that the letters were there. Some of the letters were from as recent as a couple of years ago. Most were several to almost ten years previous. Caboose pulled one or two out to examine them.
Every letter had the same simple envelope. The same decorated stamps along with the same scribbled name on the front. It was Wash's first name he knew for sure. Caboose looked over the letters in confusion. Wondering why Wash had not thought to have looked at any of the letters addressed to him. It all seemed quite odd to him. As he was looking over the letters, Wash had entered the room and was now looking over Caboose's shoulder.
"What are you looking at Caboose?" Wash asked when he saw all of the letters in Caboose's possession. He had not seen the letters in a long time and had hoped to forget that they ever existed. Wash knew that he should have destroyed the letters a long time ago, but couldn't find the willpower to do so. Caboose jumped lightly and quickly turned to look back at Wash.
"Wash! Oh I'm not doing anything! Swear I was just looking." Caboose promised and set the letters back down in the box. Wash nodded absently and went to sit next to his lover. Caboose was still worried that Wash was upset with him but Wash assured him otherwise.
"Wash, what are all of these letters?" Caboose asked as he once again looked over him. Wash was laying against him and Caboose could feel how tense Wash was. Maybe he should not have asked him such a thing in the first place. However he was curious and wanted to know. Wash sighed.
"My dad used to hate me. All he would do was sit around and write these letters. I tried so hard to impress him but he would never pay attention. Only write the letters. Although he never sent any of them to anyone. After he died, Mom took every letter he ever wrote and put them in this box. She said every letter was for me. My dad never could find the right words to say to my face, so he would write them down. Anything he would want to say is in those letters." Wash told him and Caboose looked over at him.
"So why haven't read them?" Caboose asked and Wash smiled.
"I don't need them. I already know what they say. My Dad wanted me to join the army to make he proud. He told me once I did he could be proud of me. He told me I could be the light of his life, the light he always failed to see. I know those letters tell me all he wanted to say after I joined the army. So I don't need to read them." Wash told him and picked up a letter to look it over. Caboose looked at him with full seriousness in his face.
"Is that all these letters say? Really?" Caboose asked and Wash shook his head.
"My dad wanted me to find true love. He wanted me to be the light of his life as well as the light in someone else's life. My Dad loved me. He truly did." Wash told him blushing lightly. Caboose smiled.
"Well Wash you are the light of my life! I guess you got what your dad always wanted for you! Maybe you should read the letters anyway to see what you find." Caboose told him and Wash nodded with a smile. They had spent their time reading the letters shortly after that. Like Wash had said, his Father wanted him to find true love. To find and be the light of his lover's life. Wash had found what he needed.

This one was cute to write. I decided to not make Wash's dad a total dick after all. Well I am tired and I don't have time to write a long Author's note. I will see you all when I get back from my Grandmothers. Happy Holidays to ALL!
