-"Be Our Guest"-

Later that night, the castle was quiet, as if the entire manor had gone to sleep. Zelda lay in her bed, looking over at the wardrobe, who was fast asleep. Her stomach rumbled in protest, as she hadn't eaten since that morning. Despite her insistence, she could feel hunger settling in, and was forced to confront the simple fact that she couldn't stay in this room forever and starve. Somewhat nervously, she stood up and walked towards the door. Anxiety suddenly swooned over her as she nervously turned to knob, unsure what she would find on the other side of the door.

She opened it, and saw the hallway was dark, and empty. She nervously stepped out, and began making her way down it.

Meanwhile, behind the curtain, Fox (taking a break from his duties as guard) was spending his time with a feather duster named Krystal, his arms wrapped around her as he swooned her, making her giggle.

"Kiss me, my sweet," Fox wooed, leaning in to kiss her as she pulled back, protesting half-heartedly with a wide smile, "But Moiseur, you will burn me!"

"Worry not, my dear, that is only my fiery love for you, it will not burn," Fox assured her, leaning in to kiss. However, he glanced out the open of the curtain and saw Zelda walking down the hallway, gasping, "Sacre bleu! She has come out!"

Down in the kitchen, Toadette had just put her son to sleep and hopped over to the counter as she heard the stove, Chef Ganon, complain, "Bah, I slave all day for the master and his fame fatale, and for what? For a meal that's gone to waist!"

"Oh, stop your complaining," Toadette replied, "It's been a long and disappointing day for all of us."

"Yes it has," Mario agreed tiredly, "And I for one blame the girl. If she hadn't been so stubborn-"

His words were cut off by Zelda entering the kitchen. Not wanting to be rude, he turned to her, welcoming uneasily, "Madam."

Zelda bowed politely, Fox hopping in after her, introducing himself, "Greetings madmesoille, I am Fox."

He reached up for her hand and kissed it as Mario hopped down beside him, "And I am Mario."

"How may we be of service?" Fox asked. Zelda stood up straight, saying, "Well, I am kinda hungry."

"Well, then you must be fed!" Fox said without hesitation. Mario whispered to him warningly, "Remember what the master said…"

"Oh Mario don't be a prat!" Toadette scowled, "I'm not going to let the girl starve whilst I can help it!"

"Oh very well," Mario conceded, not wanting to be cruel, "A small dinner, and straight back to bed!"

"Of course, of course," Fox assured him, guiding Zelda out to the dining room, "But after all, what is a French dinner without a little entertainment?"

"Entertainment?" Mario inquired, getting worried.

Zelda sat at the end of a long table. Fox hopped on, along with Toadette and a large array of dishes, plates and utensils as Fox began singing, "Ma chere Mademoiselle, it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents - your dinner!"

All the dishes began to move around, dancing as Fox continued to sing, "Be our guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test! Tie your napkin 'round your neck, Cherie, and we'll provide the rest. Soup du jour, hot hors d'oeuvres, why, we only live to serve! Try the grey stuff, it's delicious! Don't believe me? Ask the dishes! They can sing, they can dance. After all, Miss, this is France, and a dinner here is never second best! Go on, unfold your menu, take a glance and then you'll be our guest! Oui, our guest! Be our guest! Beef ragout, cheese soufflé, pie and pudding 'en flambé'. We'll prepare and serve with flair, a culinary cabaret! You're alone
and you're scared, but the banquet's all prepared! No one's gloomy or complaining! While the flatware's entertaining, we tell jokes! I do tricks with my fellow candlesticks! And it's all in perfect taste that you can bet. Come on and lift your glass, you've won your own free pass to be out guest! If you're stressed, it's fine dining we suggest."

Fox then began dancing around as all the dishes sang, "Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest! Get your worries off your chest. Let us say for your entrée, we've an array; may we suggest: Try the bread! Try the soup! When the croutons loop de loop, tt's a treat for any dinner
Don't belive me? Ask the china. Singing pork! Dancing veal! What an entertaining meal! How could anyone be gloomy and depressed? We'll make you shout "encore!" And send us out for more. So, be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!"

Toadette then came forth, singing, "It's a guest! It's a guest! Sakes alive, well I'll be blessed! Wine's been poured and thank the Lord, I've had the napkins freshly pressed. With dessert, she'll want tea, and my dear that's fine with me/ While the cups do their soft-shoein', I'll be bubbling, I'll be brewing, I'll get warm, piping hot. Heaven's sakes! Is that a spot? Clean it up! We want the company impressed! We've got a lot to do! One lump or two? For you, our guest! She's our guest! She's our guest! She's our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!"

The excitement and cheer died down a bit as Fox came forward once more, standing next to Toadette as he began singing sadly, "Life is so unnerving for a servant who's not serving. He's not whole without a soul to wait upon. Ah, those good old days when we were useful... Suddenly those good old days are gone. Ten years we've been rusting, needing so much more than dusting. Needing exercise, a chance to use our skills! Most days we just lay around the castle, flabby, fat and lazy. Then you walked in and oops-a-daisy!"

The excitement then picked up once more as they all began singing, "Be our guest! Be our guest! Our command is your request! It's been years since we've had anybody here, and we're obsessed with your meal, with your ease. Yes, indeed, we aim to please while the candlelight's still glowing, let us help you, we'll keep going course by course, one by one 'til you shout, 'Enough! I'm done!' Then we'll sing you off to sleep as you digest. Tonight you'll prop your feet up. But for now, let's eat up! Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest! Please, be our guest!"

Zelda smiled widely, applauding them as Fox bowed, feeling proud at being able to show off his talents for the first time in so long. Zelda smiled as all the dishes brought her food, and for the first time since coming to this castle, Zelda felt welcomed, and more than that, happy, thanks to these servants, her new friends.

Once again, I apologize for the delay, but as before i've been working a lot on another project of mine. Anyways, please r & r and enjoy :)
