"Same way you do Sochi. I died and was brought back in a similar way you were."
"What?!" Yusuke asked startled as he shot straight up in his bed and looked at his mother wide eyed.
"You don't remember because you were so little at the time but when you were about a year and a half someone broke into the house and shot me while I was protecting you. I had died but my spirit beast guided me back to my body when Koemna gave me the egg as part of the ordeal, then I died again when I got ran over by a car when you were three and I used the Soul Wave length method to be brought back thanks to you." Atsuko said with a shrug of her shoulders as if it were no big deal to her, it probably wasn't either considering it was about eleven years ago that her last death had taken place.
"As thanks for him letting me come back a second time I agreed to be what is called a Spirit Detective. If I hadn't been drinking to celebrate the fact that you were coming back to me then I would have sensed the Soul Wave length taking place." Atsuko continued as she puffed out a perfect smoke ring from her cigarette.
"That explains why you always laugh when someone mentions you dying from lung cancer or liver failure." Yusuke said after a silent moment of staring at his mother in shock. This caused both Botan and Atsuko to snort in amusement.
"Yeah. It's impossible for me to die due to something like that, according to Koemna I have to be killed by a demon in order to die again. I haven't been on a mission since you turned ten though so the chances of that happening are slim at best." Atsuko said shrugging her shoulders and chuckling quietly in amusement at her son's rather blunt and unexpected words.
"So what will you be doing now Atsuko?" Botan asked looking at the woman who smirked.
"Why I'm coming out of retirement and training my sochi of course."
