Short A/N: You read it right. This fic has a beta now. Thank you Festus Flare for willing to be my beta again. He was the beta of the prequel of this story too.

Here comes chapter 8!

Chapter 8: "Notes"

"Why did you kiss me that time after we returned from our trip?"

"…"

I could feel my cheeks burning and the air in my lungs becoming warmer. My heart was beating hard like it was about to burst. I'm sure Minami can hear my heartbeats as I can hear hers. After all, it was pretty quiet around us, and it's the only sound I could find except for the echoing sound of wooden floor, being stepped on by people who were walking down this dirty old building's corridor.

I've waited for quite few seconds but her answer was yet to come. Impatience grew in my heart and I about to ask her again, however I had something in mind that sealed my lips. If I just barged in, I might get German Supplex-ed in anger. Of course it would be bad for me. Even in my best condition, that ultimate move always sends me unconscious. I will die this time if I were to receive such damage in my current weak state.

It was a good thing those bad thoughts were proved to be unnecessary as she finally opened her lips to speak again.

"Th—that's…" She stammered, only making me more nervous. "I thought we would—"

Suddenly, I lost my sight of Minami's face and before I knew it, my head hit the ground.

"Get away from her you dirty swine!"

"Miharu?"

My head was spinning. I was about to lose consciousness. I knew I must not close my eyes to stay alive but my eyelids were so heavy to lift. This is really frustrating. I bet I could see their panties if I opened these hurdles up. Come on, Akihisa. Come on! God, please grant me the strength to witness this rare scenery, which is the dream of men throughout the world! This is your gift to the male hierarchy, right? It will be such a waste if I don't save this sight in my memory, right?

"GUHH!"

"Don't you dare open your eyes!"

*WHACK*

I couldn't make it. The aurora was right over me but my head was burrowed on the ground. I could hear an 'Oh no, what should I do? I just killed a man!', but there was no hint of hesitation, either in Minami's kick or in her words itself. What am I? A cockroach?

My consciousness is slowly flying away from me. In this darkness though, my mind is still wondering about Minami's answer. What did she about to say? Why did she kiss me? Was it just a thank you gift for spending weekend with her and her sister? But why on the lips? Does she like me? Nah, I've given up on that idea after the incident during our field trip and that time when we deceived Shimizu-san. Or is it possible if she likes me after our trip to Kyoto?

Well, I'm sure we are finally in good terms again. I can just ask her again later.

And from there, I passed out. . .

I gradually opened my eyes and a strong white light from the lamp in the ceiling struck me soon. I instinctively cover them with my hand and look to the left. I see, I'm in the infirmary. I skipped the class huh?

I turned my head to the right, only to find a pair of big round meats, wrapped by our school's winter uniform.

"Akihisa-kun, good morning! Thank goodness you are awake again!"

"Himeji-sa… Ugh. My head… How long did I pass out?"

I felt my head was stung when I tried to raise my back and leaned on the head of this bed.

"A really long time. Lunchtime is almost over, Akihisa-kun."

"What? No! What about my lunch?"

Well, it's not like I had any money to buy anything though. I'm broke. That bastard Yuuji hadn't paid me back my money he used when we bumped each other at the convenience store last Saturday. My vacation with Minami and Hazuki-chan also cost me (a lot of) money. The ticket to Kyoto was much more expensive than the original destination. I can't blame Minami for that though.

"Akihisa-kun… I was scared."

"Huh?"

"You looked like you were on the verge of death when you were brought here. Your usually cheerful, happy face was pale and your breathing was heavy… What made it worse is that I don't know what it was that could have hurt you that bad. I was scared, Akihisa-kun. I don't want to lose you."

Himeji-san… She cared about me this much. I felt bad not telling her the truth, but that demon of a woman told me not to tell anyone about it.

"I'm alright Himeji-san. Didn't I tell you that I overslept?" Said I, with a smile on my face.

"Yes, you did, but you rarely oversleep. Right, Akihisa-kun? So what did you do last night?"

I stared at Himeji-san who was sitting on a chair next to this infirmary bed. She furrowed her eyebrows, looked like she was furious but still reflecting a sign of dismay.

Despite her heart throbbing answer, I gave her my sympathy for caring about me. Even though it was normal for her to do so because we are now officially a couple, I felt unworthy for getting her worry.

I guess I can tell her the truth.

"I'm sorry for not telling you, Himeji-san. I was studying all-night long for the upcoming exam."

"Is that so? Well then, that's a good thing! Studying is important for us students!"

"Eh?"

"But don't forget to take a rest, Akihisa-kun! You must replenish your energy by getting enough sleep. I heard that humans can survive without food for about 14 days, but woulld drop dead if we don't sleep for a mere ten days!"

Now that she mentioned it, I did survive with only water and salt as breakfast before Nee-chan back from USA.

"Is that so? Guess I overlooked that fact, huh? Ahaha," I gave her my sincere smile.

That was easy. I thought her reaction would be like Yuuji and Muttsurini's after hearing me talking about studying. You're such a nice girl, Himeji-san.

"You need some sleep, Akihisa-kun. But you also need nutrition to sleep better."

"Yeah. I do feel hungry"

"You do? No worries! I've made you a soup! Ta-da~!"

Curse my stupid mouth! It just made me hear the most shocking 'Ta-da' ever in the history of mankind!

"I made this at the home economics room during break. You have to try it, Akihisa-kun!"

This bowl of soup looked really tasty and neat, but is doubtfully edible.

"Come, on. Take it!"

Himeji-san already made it for me. I can't just say no to her. It wouldn't be polite if I did that. They said true love hurts anyways. Well, all's fair in love and war.

I took the bowl slowly from Himeji-san's hands and already smell the aroma of the deadliest chemical weapon ever. It looked surprisingly nice, though my lungs are already falling apart just by breathing in the air. They say "don't judge a book by its cover". This food is proof of that statement.

I picked up the plastic spoon and prepared to dig in. Hopefully, the souls of the dead would be kind to me in the afterlife.

"Itadakimaaaasu!"

I put every object in the soup into my mouth. I swear that there were some unidentified objects in there and it was driving me crazy!

GULP

In one big gulp, I swallowed the whole soup. The taste was deadly as it was rich of unpeeled raw fish and raw eggs. I can't define the right words to describe this kind of taste but I was sure I could feel my stomach exploding. No, wait, it's melting. Obviously melting.

Then, I almost passed out again.

"Ara, ara~ You can't just sleep right after you eat, Akihisa-kun!"

"But I… Need… Sleep. Right?" I barely answered her.

"Well then, I will leave you here. I'm sorry, I should've taken care of you until school ends, but the teachers won't allow me to skip class. So please take care of yourself, Akihisa-kun."

She stood and walked away to the door.

"Wait." I cried.

"Yes, Akihisa-kun?"

"Thanks for the foo— COUGH COUGH COUGH!"

"Akihisa-kun?"

That was such an epic fail moment. I've just thanked the food that almost killed me. I need to correct that.

"Thanks for taking care of me… Mizuki."

Then, I got my eyes opened as wide as possible when I saw the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. Nah, beautiful is not enough to describe it. Her radiant smile and those huge boobs really spoiled my sight. My surroundings disappeared along with all my pain and fatigue as I focused solely at her.

I'm at peace.

"You're welcome, Akihisa-kun! I will be visiting you again after school. Now sleep!"

"Alright!"

The dazzling Himeji-sa, no, Mizuki, slowly left the infirmary room together with the advent of the blowback of sore stomacache, which sent me flying to the dream world once again.

—This is the first time I didn't regret eating her cooking.

….

I woke up to find that the school's bell had just rung a moment ago. Hoping to catch up with everyone before they went home, I quickly got up from the bed and changed into my uniform again in the restroom at the infirmary. Thanking the infirmary staff, I headed back to class.

I slid the door open. The class was already half empty. My usual circle was still here, but many of other classmates had already gone home. When I walked in, my bastard of a best friend greeted me after I walked in.

"Akihisa. You feeling better?"

"Yeah. Still a bit dizzy, but definitely better."

"Thank goodness, Akihisa."

"Thank you, Hideyoshi. You really cared about me wholeheartedly, unlike this dirty guy who still hasn't paid for his coffee at the convenient store!"

"Ugh, you still remember that?"

"Of course I do. My money is at stake here, so pay up!"

"Alright, alright. I'll go back to the convenient store to pay my coffee after school. I'm going to buy something anyways."

"No! Pay it to me, now! Forget about the convenient store! I already forked out my allowance for your coffee that time, dammit! They'd friggin' arrest you if I didn't pay them!"

"Tch."

This guy is just going to forget his sins! What a devil! Good thing he finally gave up and pay his debt. I can eat some ramen for dinner now.

Suddenly, Mizuki and Minami approached us.

"Akihisa-kun? Are you feeling better already?"

"Mizu—"

Just when I about to finished saying her first name, I realized that the FFF was already in attack formation. They stared at me like hungry tigers preparing to hunt their prey in the dark night.

"Himeji-san. Yeah. I'm better now. Thanks for asking." I barely managed to correct myself.

"…"

She seemed to be confused about why I called her with her family name again. I'm sorry, Mizuki! But those guys won't let me live if I did that!

Ah, she nodded lightly. I guess she understood the situation. What a clever girl.

Phew, those bloodthirsty Forever Alone guys had averted their eyes from me. That was close, too close.

"Aki, we were just about to visit you. Good thing you're already fine."

"Ah, thanks Minami. By the way, was it you who brought me to the infirmary?"

"No. I had to leave you there because Miharu chased after me."

What?! She just stepped on my face and left me at a stairway? Minami! I thought we were good friends!

"Wait, so who brought me there?"

"I did."

Suddenly, a man's voice could be heard. It was coming from the old wooden podium inside the class. I took a glance from the door, and what I saw was an angel… from hell. Ironman! Did he really help me? Wow. Although it is true that teachers are obligated to take care of their students, but still. This is Ironman we are talking about. My impression on him has slightly changed.

Feeling as if I owed him made me talk politely towards the teacher.

"Is that so? Thank you very much, Sensei."

"Well, Yoshii. Although I am quite harsh to the students, I actually care about all of them, you know."

You're one to talk! You misplaced 'quite' with 'awfully'!

"For example, when I'm planning to give a lecture even at weekends…"

"I never thought of that, Sensei— huh?"

"That's right. You'll be attending my hellish lecture this Saturday, Yoshii. Prepare yourself!"

"You've got to be kidding me!"

He's the worst! He's like the big bad villain in movies! I always hear the sound of thunder whenever he talks! And he actually enjoys it! And although we already have supplementary classes on Saturdays, I'll get extra classes by the Cerberus of Fumitzuki High. This would be a perfect weekend.

After saying those bad things, he left me with a broken heart.

"Now, now, Akihisa-kun. Don't take it by heart! You must be strong!"

"That's right, Aki. Fight!"

I stared at Minami and Mizuki. I'm glad now I'm in good terms with them.

"By the way, Aki." Minami called. She grabbed her bag and took something from there, a book. "Here. The notes from today's classes."

"Wow. Thank you very much Minami."

"Well, at least I can do this much..."

With this, I can study what I missed today.

"Yoshii. Is Yuuji here?"

As usual, the beautiful Kirishima-san always picks Yuuji to go home together. That lucky bastard. Having such beauty as childhood friend. Even stalking him everyday. Well, being stalked is not a good thing though.

"Ah yes. He's here. He's been waiting for you eagerly. Yuuji also told me that he wanted to ask you out after school."

"OI, AKIHISA!"

Serve you right!

"Yuuji," she looked at him with soft expression. "I'm sorry to make you wait. Will you forgive me?"

"I'm not waiting for you at all!"

"Are you just being angry at me for being late?"

"No!"

"Thank goodness. You really are a thoughtful groom, Yuuji."

"That's not what I meant!"

"Yoshii just told me you wanted to ask me out after school…"

"Shouko. It's DEFINITELY a lie. You've just fallen for a stupid lie, spoken by an idiot person."

"No, I'm not lying! He's just being shy, Kirishima-san!"

"I see. Then, let's go somewhere… private, Yuuji."

"No, w-wait, Shouko. We don't need those tasers, right? GYAAAAH!"

"We'll be taking our leaves."

After that, the rest of us went home together as usual and went our separate ways at the gate. All I need now is to get home and rest my eyes for a while and then study again.

I was about to cross the street when suddenly someone called me from behind.

"Akihisa-kun?"

"Hime— Mizuki? What's wrong?"

She panted. "Haa, haa… Nothing. It's just that I almost forgot to give you this."

"A note? Woa. This seems to be very detail! Thank you, Mizuki. This is really helpful."

Though I might be having hard times understanding it.

"I don't want to lose to Minami-chan! If she gave you notes, then I'd also give you mine!"

"T-Thanks Mizuki-san."

I don't know if there's such weird competition between the two of them.

"Hmm? Why did you use the '-san' again?"

"I'm sorry. I'm still not used to it," I scratched my cheek.

"Nuuuu… Next time, call me without the honorific, understood?"

"Yes Ma'am!"

"See you tomorrow, Akihisa-kun!"

What a wonderful girlfriend. I'm definitely the luckiest guy on earth. With Mizuki and Minami's support, I'm sure I can become number 1 in the mid test! Nah, I was just being too positive. There's no way my grades can become number 1, right?
