Author's Note
I would like to thank all of you have read this fanfiction and have waited patiently for each update. I would like to ask for apologies for the long waits in between chapters as I wanted this fanfiction to truly be deserving of its views and great reviews. I wanted it to justify the novels in which it had been derived from.
In 2008-2009, I have read the Twilight Saga and in 2009, I have read the first book of the Hush Hush Saga. It wasn't until December 2012 that I have finished the last book of the Hush Hush Saga. By then, I have seen similarities between the two series including supernaturally hot boyfriends, normal teenage girls, and a very complicated love story. Writing a fanfiction between these two made sense to me but I didn't know what the story will be about and how the conflict will bring the two worlds together. Finally as I vacationed in Florida with my family on December 2012, the idea hit me and I began writing. I wasn't satisfied with the outcome of the first three chapters. They were short and not very well thought of. I looked back at both the series and noticed how long each chapter was and how detailed they are even if not a lot of things happened in them. So I decided to have my chapters just as long and just as detailed.
When I began to write, I researched my information well. I went back and reread both books and took note of the smallest details the original authors had already made. By then, I had a general idea how and where the plot will be going. Of course, other details worked themselves out as I wrote and sometimes they refused to come out. There were other unexpected ideas as well such as Seth imprinting on Nora. I was afraid that will make the story more complicated. The last thing I needed was for the story to be thrown off the track. So when the idea popped inside my head, I carefully tried to infuse it to the original plot line I had in mind and thankfully, it blended pretty well. Another late idea was Maggie being the girl Patch fell for, pun intended. When I read back what she was described as, I couldn't help picture a vampire version of Nora. I admit that little part kind of made me lose track of the original story so I sort of shortcutted it, though I hope it still looks like it is a part of a bigger picture. With Tanya and Patch however, I kind of had that idea from the very beginning. Let's admit it, Patch is very attractive, both physically and his powers, and it wouldn't surprise me if he catches several vampires' eyes. Therefore, the idea is well into the bigger picture, I hope.
With the main conflict itself, I know both books have unresolved concerns in their respective story line. In Twilight, the threat of the Volturi still lingers while in Hush Hush, eventually more fallen angels will return to Earth, perhaps create more Nephils and the Archangels will eventually intervene again with Patch and Nora caught in the middle of it all again. With this being in my head, the conflict had eventually made its way to my head. It was all I needed to spin a story from the two worlds.
My problem was the amount of characters in the whole story. The amount of characters Twilight has is already pretty huge and if I bring in people from Nora's world, I know it will be a bit problem. So you would notice several characters seemingly absent though I had hoped they were mentioned somewhere, somehow.
If you notice, except for the Prologue and the Epilogue, which are both in the third person point of view, the whole novel was in Nora's point of view. It is because compared to Bella and the rest of the characters, I had related to her more. Perhaps it's also because I didn't really like how Bella was portrayed by the original author. Not because it isn't good, but because how she was portrayed seemed to be a little superficial for me: the type of girl that doesn't really know she's beautiful but everyone is in love with her, who says she wants to be with Edward forever but is a little concerned about aging and about being too ordinary. Okay, enough Twi-hating (Patch will always be the bad boy Edward and any other lead male character wants to be). Okay, I promise that will really be the last.
Nora and Bella both have their own faults and strengths, I will admit that. Both women fought for the things they think they deserve. Perhaps I thought it would be interesting to see the both of them interact. Perhaps what really fueled my desire to write this fanfiction was the intrigue of how Patch and Edward would react to each other. Both hot guys, both irrevocably in love with their respectful partners, both bad ass (see my previous parenthesized sentence though). I also liked the idea of a faceoff between these two powerful characters.
This has been the biggest project I've done since I've begun writing fanfictions a few years ago. I was unsure of it all when I began writing since I have been missing from this site for a few years. So I thank you for reading this crazy story, waiting for my updates (always delayed because of my desire to make it as epic as possible, because of school, and because of writer's block), and for taking the time to review it and even suggest things.
I am thinking of another big project I will probably do in the near future. But it wouldn't be as soon as I would hope because the two series I have in mind are very complex themselves. One of them isn't even done yet so I have to wait for it to finish before I could come up with a solid plot line. I hope you guys support my future works.
Until then,
