I hope all my lovely readers had a lovely Christmas, and if you don't celebrate the holidays, I hope you have had a wonderful week! I meant to upload this yesterday, but every time I clicked my username it said "Error". It's a day late, but I still hope you enjoy it!
"Where is the captain, Mr. Sulu?"
"Our sensor rays are down, I can't find him." Sulu responded, his attention still focused on locating the Captain.
With a crackle, Spock could see a transmission beginning to form on the screen. It stretched back into place and the crew could clearly see Khan holding Kirk at gun point.
"I'm going to make this very simple for you."
"Captain!"
"Your crew for my crew." Khan continued, ignoring Spock.
"You betrayed us." Spock stated, simply, believing it would be a better idea to get to the point as fast as possible.
"Oh, you are smart Mr. Spock." Khan openly mocked.
"Spock! Don't-" Kirk was stopped mid-speech as Khan pounded him over the head.
"Mr. Spock. Give me my crew." Khan glared at the screen.
"And what will you do when you get them?"
"Continue the work we were doing before we were banished."
Spock tightened his jaw, making sure Khan understand the gravity of the situation. "Which, as I understand it, involves the mass genocide of any being you find to be less than superior."
"Shall I destroy you, Mr. Spock? Or will you give me what I want?"
Spock took a moment to gather himself before continuing. "We have no transporter capabilities."
"Fortunately mine are perfectly functional." Khan said. "Drop your shields."
"If I do so, I have no guarantee that you will not destroy the Enterprise."
Khan nodded his head. "Well, let's play this out logically then Mr. Spock. Firstly, I will kill your Captain to demonstrate my resolve, then if yours holds, I will have no choice but to kill you and your entire crew." Khan finished his statement, a small smile beginning to form on his face.
I just want my crew back. I'll deal with the rest of them later, but before I can do anything I need my crew.
"If you destroy our ship, you will also destroy your own people."
"Your crew requires oxygen to survive, mine does not. I will target your life support systems, located behind the cell, then after every single person aboard your ship suffocates, I will walk over your cold corpses to recover my people. Now, shall we begin?" Khan's voice rumbled throughout the entire bridge.
Carol looked on with horror as Spock contemplated his next move.
"Lower shields." Spock ordered Sulu, finalizing his decision.
Bones entered the bridge, out of breath from having run up from med bay.
"A wise choice Mr. Spock. Now-" Khan paused as he kicked Kirk in the gut, leaving him coughing as Khan located his torpedoes.
"I see your 72 torpedoes are still in their tubes. If they're not mine Commander, I will know it!"
"Vulcan's do not lie. The torpedoes are yours." I hope our plan works. So many things could go wrong.
Khan began to transport the torpedoes over to the Vengeance.
Bones made his way towards Spock.
"You disarmed the torpedoes?" Spock asked.
"Well, I left before every single one was disarmed, but yes, they should all be disarmed by the time Khan finishes their transportation. The officers in med-bay were working as fast as they could."
"What if the torpedoes explode?" Spock questioned. "What then? I highly doubt Khan will want to negotiate if his crew has exploded."
"They won't explode Spock. The officers know what they are doing. I looked over most of it. The chance of the torpedoes exploding are slim to none."
"Very well."
Without another word, Bones made his way back to med-bay.
"Thank you, Mr. Spock." Khan's voice was laced with victory.
"I have fulfilled your terms." Spock said, shocked that the torpedoes hadn't exploded yet. "Now fulfill mine."
"Well, Kirk. It seems apt to return you to your crew. After all-" Khan waited for Kirk, Scotty and Carol to be halfway through their transportation. "-no ship should go down without her Captain."
I'm sure I made some more errors in there! I've been working on my proofreading, but sometimes I just can't catch all of it. I'm still in the process of looking for a beta reader. We are getting closer and closer to the end!
Sorry this chapter was shorter! I couldn't find a way to make it longer that made sense, but it's good to have a variation in chapter lengths!
Please, please, please, please review. It means the world to me and yeah...please review!
