It was the final day of the Game. Sara and I felt ready as ever. The mission came up on my phone.
The GM, Maxwell Jackson, is at Liberty Isle. Defeat him.
There is no time limit.
After I read the message a call came to me. It was from Dracula.
"Hello, you've reached the dead kid walking."
"Ricky! Grey's gone missing!"
"What!?" I couldn't believe how stupid Grey just proved himself to be. "Why would he run off!?"
"I have an idea, but it could cost him the game!"
"Crap… I'll make sure he doesn't get hurt."
"Right!"
"Is something wrong with Grey?" Sara asked.
"He'll be fine, we've gotta focus on the GM right now." But I was worried too. What if Grey was erased!? What would happen to his hope of saving Ash!? These were at the back of my mind, but I stayed focused on reaching Liberty Isle.
"Welcome, Players!" The GM shouted from on top of the Statue. Then he jumped down and landed on his feet in front of me and Sara. "Time to get cooking… Wait the Secret ingredient! The Jealousy! It's gone!"
"I've fixed my problem with Erin," Sara said. "It takes a really good friend to make you jealous."
"Then fight for your Second Chance! It will be your last fight!"
He started to change into a humanoid noise form. The Wings on his back turned from black to purple and grew to the size of the Statue.
"Ready?"
"Yeah."
I rushed for the front line, and Sara jumped onto the slab in the Statue's hand. With one of my Psychokinetic pins I threw every stone he had right back at him. I often slashed at The GM's feet and knocked him over, letting Sara take care of the wings from there. When he was down and having trouble getting up I focused hard on Sara.
A Giant cat rose out of the ocean beneath my feet, and Sara hopped onto the head with me. A flaming fist fell onto the island, crushing the GM under a fury of flaming claws.
The next thing we knew we were in a room with three thrones and the Player's Skull on the ground beneath our feet. Grey was there too.
"Yo! Wassup?" he said.
"Where'd you go!?" I yelled at him. "You could've been Erased!"
"Calm down, Ricky," Sara said. "I'm sure he had a very good reason for running off."
"I can't talk about it, yo." Grey looked down in shame.
"Welcome, Players! It's time to announce the results." Frank came up on screens all around the room.
"The total number of Players to face their Second Chance is…" I was startled when the announcement came on. "One. Sara Bloom. Lucifer Greyson and Ricky Jordan! Choose your next paths!" Grey decided to do something totally unexpected.
"Please! Let me be A Reaper! Even for one week!"
"One Week. You will be a reaper for one week."
"Please! Let Ricky go! I'll play the Game again just let him live!" Sara said.
"Impossible… but you will be waiting for him. You will know when he comes back."
"Wait for me," I said. "I'll be there, Rockefeller Plaza."
Wit that and a smile Sara disappeared.
Here ends the first Game.
