Author's Note: Important

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. If you want to get straight to the point, here it is: I am putting all my stories on hiatus for the recent future. My reasons and thought process is as follows. This community has been an encouragement to me as a novice writer. Through your reviews and also your stories, I have grown as a writer. I enjoyed being a part of the community and contributing my knowledge to other authors. However, I have found that being responsible for a story and especially multiple stories, is a larger commitment than I had estimated for. Therefore, I have decided to put all of my stories on hiatus until further notice. This will give me more time towards my greatest passion, reading.

I believe that this is the best decision I can make at the moment. Now as for the specifics: All the stories will remain on the site and will still accept and respond to reviews on previous chapters, but I will not be working on a current chapter. Hopefully when I pick up the story again both my skill and commitment will have grown.

And now I want to acknowledge all the reviewers who motivated to update with their reviews.

Thank you Luiz4200 my first reviewer. Thank you to Civilwarrose, The Green Archer, Jonny2b, zucchini muffin, Sil Vaturha 98, alice205646, Lily, and E3-FantasyandReality.

Special thanks for TrudiRose my Beta for this story.

Now, I present the last of what I have written as of now, Chapter 6.

The room was unfamiliar, but an uncomfortable feeling nagged at Vincent. I'm sure I've been here before. He stared at marbled angels decorating the entry way and his mouth gaped at the rich decoration, the plush carpets, and the magnificent table.

"Is this how kings live?" he remarked aloud.

As if his feet had a mind of their own, he crossed the marble floors and reached out and touched the runner on the entry table. The material was soft and smooth with a silky finish. Vincent stood in awe as he held the material. Next he turned away and examined the rest of the hall. He walked towards the windows.

Suddenly he heard a creaking sound off to his right. He stiffened and then stumbled back from the windows and froze as a large door began to open. Immediately he realized his exposed position and darted away from the door, scanning the open room helplessly. Thoughts raced through his mind.

I need to hide! Could I go back towards the exit? No, I would never make it…How about the curtains? No, I would certainly be seen…Under the entry table?

The door creaked again and the gap between the door and the doorway continued to widen.

I'm out of time! his mind screamed.

On sheer impulse he raced over the floor and slid under the entry table. As he was tucking his legs under him and curling into a ball, he heard the door creak open and voices enter the room.

Vincent curled himself up and covered his face. The moment of dread dragged out with each beat of his heart. Each moment he felt surer of getting caught. The voices became closer with each breath. He could now hear that they were both female. A throaty accented voice was talking to a softer one.

"Did you clean this area yet, Natalle?"

"Yes, earlier this morning." The soft feminine voice replied.

"Then why is the floor smudged? I am sure you wouldn't have missed such obvious mud stains if you were really paying attention."

"I-I don't understand. I cleaned earlier today as usual. It didn't look like it needed it though. Everything has been so clean since last evening when-." The voice was cut off harshly.

"Hush, girl. There's no need to talk about that now. A deep breath was taken. "Lord only knows what happened and that's the way it shall remain. Now mind your work and let's hear no more of this."

"…"

"Do you understand girl?"

Silence followed. Vincent assumed that the girl had nodded her head because the door banged shut soon after. He let out his breath slowly and started to uncurl from his position…

"I was sure I cleaned earlier today." A soft voice muttered near him.

Vincent froze. That girl, Natalle must still be here.

"I swept this floor earlier and hardly needed anything, but now…" She trailed off and, to Vincent's relief, walked away from the table towards the center of the room. His relief was short lived when he heard her gasp.

As always feel free to PM me with your thoughts.
