Full Summary:Light dies and finds himself in what he believes to be his mind's projection of a very twisted version of M.U, in a world he would never have thought possible... where the world knows very well who Kira is; where the dead and gone are alive and well, ready to show him their gratitude for ending their lives; where paperwork still lingers to haunt you and the great adventure that is Death ends with a sending up the River and begins with a cruise in pyjamas. Disclaimer: I do not own Ohba and Obata's Death Note, Gabrielle Zevin's Elsewhere, Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy or John Milton's Paradise Lost. I own this plot and this writing, and the original characters (you will know them when you see them). Finally, I make no money from this story or my writing, but my web-provider does.

Chapter I

'Tokyoite'

(東京人)

-Canto I-

TODAY WE WELCOME

YOU BUT YOU CANNOT COME IN.

COME BACK TOMORROW.

About the Chapter Title: As a 'New Yorker' inhabits New York, and a 'Londoner' inhabits London, a Tokyoite is an inhabitant of Tokyo. This is undoubtedly a reference to Dante Aligheri, the infamous Florentine himself.

Author Note: Thank you for deciding to read this. Every chapter from now on will include a note about its creation and its production. Here's the note today:

I recognise your disappointment. Please recognise that I am a busy person who lives in three people's lives, and the fact that being unable to give you anything for over a year has been a source of stress and self-loathing. I am not sorry. The next update will likely be of chapter 2 before it is of chapter 1. Meanwhile, enjoy a haiku.

Thank you, and please R&R
