A/N: Hello my lovelies *waves* hope everyone had a great holiday. Thank you for all the wonderful reviews you all are way too kind. Ok, so I have been thinking this over and I am going to continue this fic until it feels like it is done. Seems like this little fic here has a mind of it's own and does not want to end anytime soon. So, on that note this could be a fic that is 50 chapters or 20 I am going to let it decide. I really hope you like this chapter it is just a filler with some Finnchel fluff seeing as there hasn't been too much of it lately. One other thing as far as updates they are going to be very random. Ok, so…on to the story hope you enjoy! Reviews are always appreciated and welcomed.
One week later…..
Finn is sitting on the couch of the Hummel-Hudson residence, since they were only going to be in town for a few weeks and his mom and Burt were in DC they had told Rachel and Finn that they could stay there instead of renting a hotel for their time here. He was still trying to figure out what songs they were going to sing for nationals and, it was driving him insane he now knew why Mr. Shue always had the class pick the songs. There were so many amazing singers in this years Glee Club so it was really hard for him to pick who he wanted to feature. He continues to go through the list of songs he had came up with but, none of them really fit.
"Hey." Rachel says sitting next to him.
"Hey." He says placing a small kiss on her cheek.
"Having any luck?" She asks looking through the stacks of paper.
"Not really, I don't know how Mr. Shue did it. There are a ton of good songs out there but none of them fit this group at all." He says in frustration.
"That's usually because he had us have a sing off or something like that." Rachel points out still going through the pages of music.
"Ya, remember that time in Glee Club when we tried to get Sam and Quinn to win." Finn lets out a laugh remembering the whole thing.
"Ya that was not our best idea was it?" Rachel says remembering that day.
"No, not really." Finn shakes his head and continues to go through more music.
"What about this one?" Rachel hands him the paper.
"No way." He tosses the paper back into the pile.
"What is wrong with Backstreet Boys?" Rachel innocently asks.
"Other than the fact that they sucked." He says this knowing it will drive her nuts.
"Oh, and I suppose you have something better?" Rachel challenges.
"Come to think of it I do." Finn hands her the sheet music.
"You are not serious are you?" Rachel says in exasperation.
"What? It's better than the back door boys." Finn teases.
"Its Backstreet boys and well at least our singer didn't look like he had dumped a bowl of Ramen noodles on his head." She throws the music back at him.
"Seriously you did not just make fun of Justin's hair. Dude had awesome hair." Finn fakes being hurt.
"Really?" Rachel just rolls her eyes at him and continues to look through more music. "Ok, how about this one?" she tells him not wanting to have this conversation with him anymore. Finn takes the music from her and looks it over as he begins to hum the melody.
Watch my life,
Pass me by,
in the rear view mirror
Pictures frozen in time
are becoming clearer
I don't want to waste another day
Stuck in the shadow of my mistakes
Rachel lays her head on his chest listening to him sing the song. She knew this song was not something that they would ever do at nationals but something about it just spoke to her. She continued to let his voice take over her.
Yeah...
'Cause I want you,
And I feel you,
Crawling underneath my skin
Like a hunger,
Like a burning,
To find a place I've never been
Now I'm broken,
And I'm fading,
I'm half the man I thought I would be:
But you can have what's left of me
Finn takes her hand in his and pulls her up as they begin to sway back and forth to the music inside their heads. He pulls her closer to him taking in her scent as he continues with the song.
I've been dying inside,
Little by little,
No where to go,
But going out of my mind
In endless circles,
Running from myself until,
You gave me a reason for standing still
She could hear the emotion that was in his voice as she closes her eyes and moves her hands slowly under his shirt feeling the definition of his well toned chest.
And I want you,
And I feel you,
Crawling underneath my skin
Like a hunger,
Like a burning,
To find a place I've never been
Now I'm broken,
And I'm fading,
I'm half the man I thought I would be:
But you can have what's left of me
Finn lets out a sharp breath as he feels the warmth of her small hands on his chest. He tries to concentrate on the song but with each touch he finds it harder and harder to concentrate on the song. He feels her move to her tip toes and place small kisses along is jaw bone to his neck. He picks her up and moves her to the couch and lays her down while he places more kisses along her neck and towards her mouth.
"Finn we need to stop." As much as she wanted him right now she knew they had to stop.
"Right, sorry." He quickly gets off of her and tries to adjust himself.
"No, no I want you more than anything right now but, I think that maybe we should wait until our wedding." Rachel tells him as she places her hand on his thigh.
"Rach you do realize that we have slept together before right." He can barely last two seconds around her what makes her think that he is going to last a month.
"I know that I was just thinking that maybe if we waited until we were married it would be special and I don't know maybe it would be fun." She throws that last part in just to mess with him.
"Fun, for whom?" Finn asks not liking her idea very well.
"Ok…maybe not fun but come on don't you see the romance in it?" Rachel tells him as she climbs up on his lap.
"Ok, fine. Whatever Rachel wants Rachel gets." He tells her knowing that it didn't matter what he said her mind was already made up.
"What does that mean?" She asks.
"Nothing Rachel let's get back to this song selection thing." He tells her trying to change the subject.
"Fine." She scoffs as she gets off his lap and goes through the pile of sheet music in front of them.
"Mind if I turn the radio on?" Rachel asks not taking the silence anymore.
"Sure." He tells her as she walks over to the radio and turns it on.
"Much better." She sits back down on the couch and they continue to go through the music.
"Rach…I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I didn't mean it like it came out." Finn tries to explain.
"Its fine I know you didn't mean anything by it." She tells him. "Ok so here is what I have picked out." She hands him her stack.
"I love you." He tells her giving her a smile as he looks over her stack. Most of these songs were amazing and would work really well with the group he had. "Rachel we need to narrow these down to three." He tells her.
"I know…I was thinking we could let them pick." Rachel suggests
"You know…that is a really good idea but, one problem." Finn tells her
"What's that?" she asks
"We are not doing this song." Finn tells her as he notices one of her selections.
"Come on it's a really good song and I think that Marley and Ryder would do really good at It." she says trying to convince him.
"Rachel you do remember this is the song that you sang with Puck to make me jealous right?" He tells her as all the feelings he had when they sang it come creeping back,
"Finn….that was a lifetime ago." She tells him placing her hand in his.
"Maybe for you but….the pain is still there." he tells her flatly
"Finn…I thought we were over all that?" she asks wondering if maybe they weren't
"We are it's just that sometimes I will hear a song and it brings back all that stuff I was so afraid of." He tries his best at explaining to her but it just doesn't come out right.
"Finn…" is all that she can really say because she knew exactly how he felt.
"I love you." with those words his lips were on hers. The kiss was not like any other kiss they had shared. This was a kiss full of need and want. It was like they were both trying to hold on for dear life. They continued the kiss just for a while.
"So…about that no sex rule when does that begin?" Finn asks breaking the kiss his eyes full of lust and desire.
"Maybe tomorrow." she smiles as they continue to explore each other.
Alright there you have it hope you liked it. So question which songs should the New Directions gang sing?
