I am, now, walking down to Carlisle's study fulfilling his request for me to meet him that he made earlier. I have a feeling of what he wants, which is inquiring when I am going to make Edward a whole man again. He probably wouldn't say it in such terms, but it was in the ballpark of what he was going to ask or tell me. His inquiry will be in vain, because I have no intention of being in a relationship with Edward ever again. I don't hate him, but getting back with him would undermine all the progress I have made the past six years. It would mean that the last six years of struggle, growth, and independence that I have achieved would be in vain.

I am now at the entrance to his study, but am lacking the will to open the door. If he weren't a vampire I could simply walk away, but now that I am at the entrance to his study he can hear me so I have one choice and that choice is to enter his study.

I composed myself before I moved my hands into the shape of a fist and raised my hand to the door about to knock. I did not get a chance to knock though, for I heard his voice.

"Come in, Bella".

I grasped the handle of the crystal doorknob, twisted it, and pushed open the door. His study since the last time I had seen it was renovated. There were more books, over 120 more, more paintings, and his desk was cluttered with documents. I entered his office and took a seat.

"You wanted to see me" I inquired about his inquiry.

"Ah yes, Bella. I did."

I laughed. He is acting evasive. I don't really do awkward situations with uncomfortable silences.

"Follow up, please" I laughed.

"Yes, I'm sorry I'm a little overwhelmed today. I have a few things to talk to you about. First do you have a doctor?"

He wants to know if I have a doctor. Something I hadn't expected.

"Yes, I have a doctor."

"Okay. Next, if you don't mind, may I look at your head?"

My head? What the hell was he talking about? It took me a few moments to recall the event that happened when I was attacked in that alley by those drunk imbeciles.

"Sure. Where do you want me at to do this?"

"Just sit in my chair, facing eastward, and I will examine your wound."

He stood up and moved away from the chair as I made my way over to the chair. Not a second had passed when I could feel his fingers, ever so gently, pulling my hair away out of the way so that he could examine the wound.

I figured this would be over within five minutes. He'd see the wound tell me it was probably infected, because I didn't keep the bandage on and require me to keep the bandage on this time.

When five minutes turned to fifteen I began to get worried. Was this a bigger deal than I realized? What if the hit was more of an impact to my brain and I would become catatonic for the rest of my life.

I began to take big shallow breaths so that I could calm myself down. I focused on breathing and expelled all thoughts for a few moments so that I could determine, rationally, what likely was going on. I came up with a few conclusions by myself: (1) He couldn't find the wound; (2) The look of the wound was bad; or (3) He couldn't determine if it was good or bad. After deducing that options 1 and 3 were most likely wrong I was brought back to the possibility that the attack which I had endured may have more serious repercussions than I realized.

"Carlisle, why is this taking so long?"

He spun my chair around so that I was facing him.

"We are done. You may go."

I rose up from the chair, but I would be damned if I was leaving without my prognosis.

"What's going on? Is it bad?"

He didn't answer right away. He looked to be trying to find the right words to answer my questions.

He sighed. "No, Bella it's not bad at all. In fact it's very good, amazing even."

"Then what is it that has you so freaked?"

"It's almost as if you weren't even attacked. While it wasn't serious enough for you to require stitches there was still a lot of blood loss. When I examined you in this chair there was nothing; no wound. You didn't even have any dried blood on your hair. It's not bad its just scientifically impossible for you to heal this fast."

I didn't know how to respond to that. For a time it was silent, save for the ticking of a nearby clock. After several minutes without speaking I just left.

"Bella.. Bella" came the Patient voice of Esme.

"I'm sorry. What were you saying?"

"How many bags of snow peas would you like?"

"Three is fine."

Esme insisted that we go grocery shopping since there wasn't much food in the house on account that vampires don't eat food. I recommended that we go to Port Angeles instead of shopping anywhere in Forks, for there really isn't any vegetarian grocery markets in Forks and I usually stay away from eating meat of any kind.

It took us all of two hours to get everything I would need, grocery wise, for the next week. We were putting away the groceries in the back on my rental when I was alerted to the sound of my phone ringing.

I flipped open the phone. "Hello."

"We have some bad news." the woman on the other ended replied.

"What news? Who is this?"

"You don't remember me." She sounded amused.

"No, who are you?"

"You'll remember soon enough."

Before I could respond to the woman she was whispering words that I didn't understand. Was it another language? Upon the end of her whispers I began to remember bits and pieces of different events, and people whom I had not before. Not only that, but I also remembered alternative versions of events that happened that contradicted the ones that I believed to have happened.

"Do you remember who I am now?"

"Catya?"

"Yes, it's me. We have a lot of work to do. Where can I meet you?"

"I'll give you the address."

Okay, it's been like a 1 year since my last update. Many things have changed. The following are things that have changed regarding me continuing this story: (1) This story will not focus on Bella being a superstar-singer, but will take more of a supernatural role; (2) As I have thought about this story and continue to write it I can't write this as a Bella/Emmett story. The love interest for Bella will either be an OC or Benjamin from the Egyptian Coven. I would appreciate your feedback, opinions, observations, advice, and reviews.
