Chapter 4
Arthur sighed as he pulled himself out of the bed. His head was killing him and his body ached all over. He sat on the edge of his bed, holding his head in his hands. "Bloody hell! Why am I in so much pain? It hurts so much!" He groaned to himself. He looked over at his alarm clock. It read 7:30 a.m.; Class was in half an hour. He groaned again as he carefully got up and made his way to his dresser. He pulled out his uniform and threw it over his shoulder. He groaned again and he went to the bathroom, hoping a quick shower would relieve the pain he was in. After his shower, Arthur pulled his uniform on and looked in the mirror. He ruffled his hair and made himself presentable for school. He took some headache medication and left for school.
As he headed toward the school building, he smiled as he noticed how quiet it was. Not a sound was heard except the wind and the occasional chirping of birds. He smiled more. "This is great; I don't have to worry about Alfred or the frog at all. I can finally tell Kiku my feelings." He continued walking and blushed when he noticed Kiku walking towards him. "Ohayō Asa-san." Kiku smiled at him. "O-Oh, um….g-good morning Kiku…." Arthur smiled back, feeling his face getting redder. "I'm really glad you enjoyed last night. We got so much positive feedback that we are going to do something even better next year." Arthur grinned, "No problem Kiku, I-I had a g-g-great time with you." He blushed more. Kiku's face also turned red as he looked away from Arthur.
Arthur swallowed down hard as he watched Kiku. "Um…K-Kiku, do you want t-to go to t-the garden with m-me?" Kiku nodded, his deep brown eyes still averted away from Arthur. The British man smiled a bit and grabbed Kiku's hand, dragging him along. Kiku's face turned red as he tried his best to keep up with the British man. They made it to the school gardens which had many flowers growing. There were also many different vegetables and fruits growing that the many clubs grew to sell. Arthur took a deep breath and looked deep into Kiku's eyes.
Kiku…..I-I've been meaning t-to tell you s-s-something that has been w-weighing on my mind since the first t-time I-I-I really laid eyes on you." Kiku watched him, his face slightly red. "Kiku, I…" Just as Arthur was about to tell his feelings, he heard a voice that seemed to be calling Kiku. He turned and saw the Spaniard walk towards them. He groaned as he pinched his temple. Was everyone out to stop him from telling his feelings to Kiku?! The Spaniard made it over to them, a smile on his face. "Hola Kiku, I wanted you to try today's harvest of tomatoes. They came out perfectly." Kiku smiled and shook his head. "No thank you Antonio-san, maybe next time." Antonio looked over at Arthur. "What about you Eyebrows? Would you care for a tomato or two?" Arthur shook his head. "No thanks, I'd rather be tomato free right now." Arthur looked at Kiku and sighed. "I'll see you later Kiku, I need to go take care of a few things." Kiku nodded, "Okay Asa-san, I understand." Kiku gave him a sweet smile. Arthur blushed as he walked away from the two of them and head toward the school.
Damn, why the hell can I never tell him how I feel? Everyone seems to want to stop me…why the bloody hell would they want to do that? Arthur thought as he leaned against the school building, lost in thought. While still in thought, Arthur felt a tap on his shoulder. His thoughts vanished as he saw Alfred smiling happily at him. "What the bloody hell do you want Alfred? I'm really not in the mood." "You looked troubled; I just wanted to see if you were alright." Arthur smiled slightly. "I'm fine Alfred, just trying to figure out how to solve some problem is all." "Need any help?" Arthur shook his head. "No, I can manage by myself. Thanks for asking though." Alfred nodded and walked off. Arthur watched him leave and sighed. "I don't know what to bloody do!" He growled to himself as he started to get frustrated.
The British man continued to freak out until an idea hit him. He smiled as he walked into a classroom and got paper and a pencil from a teacher. He sat in a desk and started writing a letter. "I'll give this letter to a messenger of sorts and meet him somewhere private so I can finally tell him my feelings." He smiled more as he continued to write. The bell soon rang, He jumped up, grabbed the finished letter, and ran out, searching for someone who would be able to give this letter to Kiku.
Arthur grinned slightly as he met up with Matthew. "Hey Matthew, can you do me a favor? I trust you a lot more than your brother." Matthew nodded. "W-What do you want m-me to do eh?" "Well, can you deliver this letter to Kiku for me?" He handed him the folded letter. "Alright…" He nodded as he grabbed the letter and walked off to deliver it. Arthur smiled happily, hoping Kiku would see it and do what it asked him to.
A few hours later
Arthur sighed as he looked at his watch. "Where is he? He should be here by now." He looked around, searching for the Japanese man. He sat on the bench nearby, another sigh escaping him. He then heard footsteps and heavy breathing that followed. His face got red as his heart started to beat erratically. He turned and saw Kiku, an exhausted look on his face.
"I-I'm sorry Asa-san, the student council meeting ran long," Kiku panted out as he sat next to the Brit. "T-T-That's quite alright Kiku, I-I didn't mind waiting." He flashed the Japanese man a smile. Kiku smiled back at him. "So Asa-san, what did you want to talk with me about?" Arthur gulped as he looked at Kiku. His heart felt as though it was going to burst out of his chest. "K-Kiku…um…well, ever since I first saw you, I couldn't get you out of my head. I-I just w-wanted to be around y-you all the time, but I-I-I didn't know why…"
Kiku blushed as he looked at him. "What are you saying Asa-san?" Arthur took a deep breath, his face getting redder and redder. "Kiku…I-I-I l-love you!"
