A/N: sorry for the delay with this final chapter! Needed the right headspace. What will Ziva find out about her brother? but we should remember who he is!
Ziva slumped into a chair of a nearby workstation, she was trying to put all the pieces together, the conversation that just went down, how Ari knew where the terrorists were, how he managed to acquire everything they used in Cairo, there had to a logical explanation to it all.
Ziva was so deep in thought that she didn't even notice Miriam sit down next to her "Ziva, how are you?"
Ziva turned to face her best friend, they had been through so much together, school, army, Mossad training, she wanted to talk to her, but right now she needed to figure out what was going on with Ari and her father. "Miri, honestly I don't know how I am, but right now there are a few things I need to do, can we talk later?"
"Sure Ziv, when you're ready to talk just give me a call and I will be there, remember that" Miriam said with a sincere smile.
"Thanks Miri, I know, I'll call you later" Ziva turned back to stare at the office where her father and brother were, she wished it had glass windows, but alas no; it wasn't Mossads style.
After what seemed like hours for Ziva, but in reality only a few minutes, the door opened and her father beckoned back inside.
"Zivale, there is something you need to know" her father said softly, this scared Ziva, he hadn't called her Zivale since she was a young girl. Something had to be wrong, he is softening me up for it, plus his tone its so…..so….fatherly.
She was waiting for her father to continue but it was Ari who spoke next "Ziva, a few months ago I managed to begin to infiltrate Hamas and become a mole…for Mossad…for Israel"
Ziva was stunned, her brother had not only got undercover, but become a Hamas mole, how could she not have known? "How?" she finally asked.
"That doesn't matter, what matters is that I am in and I have to stay in" Ari said quietly.
Ziva knew this to be very true, this would be a very important operation.
"Ok, I agree…..wait, did you know?" Ziva looked at Ari.
Ari cut her off immediately, "NO ZIVA! Don't you think that if I knew I would have told father and he could have made sure the terrorists were apprehended before they reached their target or at the very least made sure our family was no where near the target?"
"Of course Ari, I'm sorry!" Ziva replied, how could she even have thought that Ari wouldn't have done anything if he had known.
"Its ok Ziva, but they were very helpful in helping us to find the cell members" Ari said with a small smile.
"The place...the equipment?" Ziva asked.
"All Hamas, even the cleaner team was Hamas traceable, the attack wasn't a Hamas authorised mission, so there was a green light on those cell members, Hamas thinks I was acting on their behalf, and proving myself to them" Ari confirmed.
Ziva thought it was perfect, if it was true, which of course it was as Ari would never lie, now no one would be able to trace the actions back to Mossad, everyone would indeed think Hamas was simply tidying up after themselves.
"Ziva, due to the nature of Ari's assignment I think it best that you become his head control officer. We need to make sure that he operation is kept on the quiet and Ari's life is not put in any unnecessary danger, think it best to keep this in the family" Eli said.
Ziva agreed with her father, and even if her father would not have given her the job, she would have asked for it.
"Ziva your brother has to make contact with Hamas, while he is doing that you and I shall go home, your mother is frantically worrying about both of you, Ari will join us when he is done" Their father explained while packing up his briefcase.
Ziva was confused "But shouldn't we be monitoring him while he is there?" she asked her father, but looking at Ari.
"Ziva, its impossible to get any monitoring devices inside their buildings and Ilan is my external safety net, I'll be fine" Ari said with his arm around his sisters shoulder.
Ziva and her father returned home, not only was her mother home, but Moshe, Rivka and their parents were there too, all helping her mum get through Shiva. Ziva knew she shouldn't have left her mum during this period, but she also knew she couldn't have lived with herself if she had passed up the opportunity for revenge. Ziva headed straight for her old room, she wanted to avoid her mother at least for the time being. She was almost to her room, when she noticed Rivka sitting on Talhi's bed.
Rivka and Talhi were less than a year apart, they were inseparable, some people even thought they were twins. Ziva sat down on the bed next to her cousin, whom had obviously been crying, Ziva put her arm around her shoulder, as Rivka fell into Ziva shoulder and started crying once again. Ziva wrapped her other arm around her cousin and was doing her best not to cry herself, but it was no use, she started sobbing uncontrollably. The two girls cried into each other for what seemed like forever.
All the while Ziva's father stood just outside the door watching on, he wanted to go in and comfort his only remaining daughter and niece, but he had such little emotion left in him, years in Mossad had ridded him of most of his emotions, his only solace was Ari and that he…...Mossad…...Israel could finally start to bring the filth that was Hamas down and from within no less….how truly wonderful that would be.
Ari approach a small building on the outskirts of Gaza city, noting Ilan about half a block up the street, he gave a sinister smile. If only he knew the truth.
"Haswari!" Itsamha exclaimed with delight
"Itsamha!" Ari said with as much delight as they embraced.
The 2 men headed down a flight of stairs into a sub-level room where a number of other men were waiting, they all joyfully greeted each other.
"So Haswari, how did you go?" a tall dark skinned man asked eagerly.
"Everything is taken care of" Ari announced to the group, all the men smiled at this news
"Did it go the way you thought it would?" Another man asked.
At this point Ari gave his biggest smile yet "Yes, she is now my head control officer, she trusts me, I will easily be able to manipulate her and her father to our advantage,…..our plans are still intact."
THE END
