Chapter 3: The New Student!
Erza's P.O.V
"Jellal?" I quietly asked myself for the second time in pure disbelief.
I sat in my seat fondling with my pen between my fingers; pondering the question why would he, who I haven't seen in eight years suddenly show up at the school I go to, and not just that but in my class as well. It was too hard to believe this was actually happening.
I didn't notice the surprised reaction clearly shown on my face, when I felt a soft delicate hand placed on my right shoulder. I, almost immediately turned around to find the blonde hair mage gaze upon me with those hazel nut eyes.
I sighed, "Oi, Lucy do you need something?"
Lucy shook her head, "I don't need anything Erza."
Shifting in my seat I asked, "Then what is it?"
I heard Lucy swallow as she continue her question, "I just want to know if you're ok… you looked as if you saw a ghost or something."
My eyes widened, my whole body started to feel tense. Secretly thinking to myself, "Damn she just had to notice." Slowly, I relaxed my muscles, and then proceeded to answer her question, "Lucy, honestly, I'm fine."
"You're sure?" She asked doubtfully.
I smiled, "Positive."
My friend shrugged, "Well okay then. Let me know if anything bothers you, ok Erza?"
I nodded. Lucy took a deep breath and took her hand off of my shoulder so she can sit back down in her seat. I also turned around too, and continue to ponder and fondle with my pen, tuning in to what the 'new student' has to say about himself.
Jellal's P.O.V
I stood in front of my first class of the day. It felt awkward standing in the front of the room as all those curious eyes stared at me. I took a deep breath and began to introduce myself, anxious to get this over with, "Hi…my name is Jellal Fernandes." I notice many students picked their heads up to listen better as I continued, "I just transferred from a private school far from Magnolia, nice to meet all of you." With that, I took a respectful bow and many students clapped as I finished. The teacher, Mr. Clive walked forward slowly clapping, "Well nice to meet you Mr. Fernandes." Mr. Clive looked around stroking his strong chin, "Now where are we going to place you…" I stood quietly waiting for his answer. "…I know! Sit right next to Ms. Scarlet over there." Mr. Clive answered pointing his large index finger in the girl's direction.
For a moment I felt like I heard that name somewhere before, "Scarlet…" I asked myself for what seemed the hundredth time, then suddenly it hit me, a wave of flashbacks came back to me as I came to realize, I blurted out, "Wait! Erza… Erza Scarlet?! Mr. Clive gave me a suspicious look, raising his left eyebrow, "Yeah. Why? Do you know her? Is that a problem?"
Noticing I actually blurted that question out, I shook my hands in front of my face, "Oh no it's nothing forget I mention anything."
"Well ok then… now sir please go take your seat!" Mr. Clive still seemed to have a suspicious look onto his face.
Nodding quickly, I walked quickly over to my seat hearing the murmurs and giggles coming from the other students. Feeling my cheeks redden from embarrassment I shyly took a seat next to the red-head who seemed to ignore my presence. She look like she was thinking deeply about something. I wonder what she was thinking so deeply about.
Well anyways I sat down and quietly started to doodle on some clean seats of paper that I happen to carry around freely in my backpack while I started to space out as Mr. Clive was starting class, all I could think about was the fact the girl I met when I was a kid is sitting right next to me and the fact she is ignoring my presence by not even glancing, waving or even saying a simple hi has me wondering. Well perhaps I'll ask her about it right after homeroom ends. But for now I am stuck here for the next forty minutes.
