(Ok, just to clear up any potential confusion, with this Bond that Deucalion has done, the twins and Stiles can't remember much of anything, but they don't realize that. As far as they know that are pack mates, and Stiles is their alpha human pack mate, which in this story verse can happen. Oh, and Erica never became a werewolf, you'll see why later. Hope that clears up any questions and sorry this is has been a hard chapter for me to write…)
Deucalion was a patient man, but even his patience had limits, and those limits were fast approaching. He drummed his near talon-ed hand against the cold metal of his cane, they were still asleep. They had slept through the remaining drive, and two days since they had gotten situated into their new…home. Deucalion was confident and he knew better than to let the others think for even a moment that he doubted himself or his actions, but there was a small nagging sensation. Kind of like how he felt after he killed his first fellow wolf, but he quickly learned to ignore it. But this time it was different, if he had been wrong, and bonded the Elemental to the wrong wolf, then his whole plan would be all for naught. Yes they could muscle their way into Hale territory, but the hunters made things tricky, and the old Hale territory has been known to harbor the odd witch or two in the past. He was all but certain that his little Elemental had come from the Hale area, if his panicked reaction was anything to go by. Just as he was about to give in to his desire to groan his ears perked, he heard a heart beat that was once in a near coma like rhythm begin to beat faster, then a body begin to move around in a conscious effort, not one of a body wiggling to another position. Finally.
"Get me a Beta," Deucalion commanded, never turning from his position.
He heard the retreating heartbeat as his only answer as his order was being carried out, soon enough their pack would either have a new member, or it would have another territory to call home.
Derek and the Pack
Usually the Pack stayed together, as in, together together. Derek realized that he really didn't mind having Isaac nearly glued to him, but he was thankful that he could transfer Isaac to Scott for a few hours a day. Even alphas needed personal space, me time, if you will. But Boyd seemed to grow even more distant as time grew, Derek knew that he needed to confront his beta before anything drastic happened, because pack was all that that they had now. So, after transferring a very grouchy Isaac into Scott's capable hands, Derek and Boyd went as far as the confines of the loft would allow.
"Boyd," Derek wasn't sure how to begin, having never been good with confronting pack members on personal matters.
"It's nothing, Derek." Boyd countered, looking away with his arms crossed defiantly.
"The hell it is," Derek all but snarled, remembering at the last minute that being aggressive would get him no results. "What's bothering you?"
"Erica." Boyd blurted, then looked horrified.
Derek blinked at him slowly, the name sounded vaguely familiar but other than that. "Who is she?" He asked softly, hoping this was a school boy crush thing and that his beta was simply pinning for her.
"She's gone,"
Well, he hadn't expected that. "What do you mean by gone?"
"She had epilepsy, she had a seizure by the pool…they took her to the hospital, they couldn't save her." Boyd whispered, a tear escaped, he brushed it away angrily.
"Boyd," Derek didn't know what to say.
"I was going to ask you to bite her," He admitted, looking at Derek with big eyes.
Derek just looked back.
"I hoped that, if you bit her, she could get better, ya know?" Boyd shrugged weakly then sighed.
Derek never realized before now, that no matter what size, Boyd was still a kid, a high school student, who apparently just lost a close friend, but potentially something more. "I'm so sorry," Derek whispered, then he hugged him. It wasn't one of those 'manly' hugs where men try to beat the other half to death or anything like that, this hug would have been considered chick flic worthy, heck maybe even considered 'homo' because Boyd buried his head in the crook of his alpha's neck and cried. He cried for his friend who he couldn't save, he cried for Stiles, he cried because he was scared. He cried until he couldn't stand, and Derek carried him to his room, and put him to bed. Not that Boyd would remember, because he was asleep.
Stiles
Once the twins were showered and dressed and I felt somewhat human, a werewolf popped his head in and told us that Deucalion wanted us. So, we followed obediently behind, a small part of me itched, saying that something was wrong, that this just wasn't natural. But I ignored it and followed the twins and the other wolf down to the Alpha of Alphas, maybe I should nickname his AA for short because Big D just didn't sound right, and I'm pretty sure that was taken by some mobster or old cliché movie big wig.
"I hope you three are feeling better," Deucalion says slowly for my benefit, I nod once, knowing that the other two would verbally confirm my nod, but it felt rude not to answer. "Good, now. I want you three to integrate yourselves into the town, so that when we do strike, we'll be able to do it effectively."
My curious expression must have mirrored one of their questions for a smile graced Deucalion's face, and I really hated it when he smiled. He reached behind him and then quicker than the human eye, thankfully none in the room were human, he tossed three bags at us. Ethan catches all three out of reflex, I peer at them then pale. Oh no, no.
'I will not go to school,' I sign, wishing for the millionth time I had paper and a pencil, something, anything to get my point across to the ASL blind wolves. The other two just groaned. I slapped them then signed dramatically, well, in reality I was flapping my hands about in a serious looking manner making it seem as if I were freaking out over the fact that I were a deaf kid going to a hearing school, as if. But it stopped their complaining.
"You'll start school in two days." Deucalion said, then turned his head signaling the end of the discussion.
We knew better than to go against his orders, but it didn't mean we had to like them. I mean, we were alphas, two of us were wolves for goodness sake, why the heck did we have to go to a smelly human school to scope out the territory? It didn't make much sense…but what Deucalion wanted Deucalion got. Simple as that.
Because we were starting in the middle of the school year, I knew we would make a commotion, that and the fact that the twins were pretty hard to miss. I mean, come on. Two identical, smoking hot, practically body builder twins come in, even the boys take notice, even the straight ones! Then there's me, the odd ball attached to the smoldering twins, with shoulder length red hair, violent violet eyes, and patches of skin far lighter in color than the rest due to still healing scars, not that they needed to know about that, not to mention my muteness and deaf-ness, at least Deucalion had been able to pull some strings and has been able to have one of the twins with me at all times. Ironically it wasn't their presence that comforted me, it's their smell. Just something about it..
Derek and the Pack
It was obvious when Deucalion and the alpha pack stepped onto Hale territory, or at least it was to Derek. He had to suck in his breath and hold it, trying not to growl as he paid for groceries, he didn't want to scare the people around him, and he'd rather not be asked down to the station by the nearby cop for disturbing the peace. And he knew a few local cops were still itching to get him, for something, anything. Ever since Stiles and Scott pulled the 'He's a murderer' stunt… that's not an easy thing to shake when you live in such a small community like Beacon Hills. But it could be worse, he supposed.
Scott, Isaac and Boyd were back in school, practically inseparable, to the annoyance of all their teacher and wonderment of classmates. The in-school therapist believed that the boys used their close relationship as a coping mechanism, and their defense mechanism. The boys didn't care what anyone thought, they were pack, and as long as they were out of the loft and away from the watchful eye of Peter. They knew the alphas were in town, it didn't take a genius to figure that out, and even the Argents were jumpy. But what they didn't expect was for three alphas to walk through their high school halls as if they had already claimed the territory.
They flared their nostrils to get a good whiff of their competition, and were surprised to find that one was human, and the human was the odd looking one in the middle. But he wasn't like any human they had ever seen. His hair was red brown, thick and had an silky quality to it, the boys gait was slightly unsteady but to a human it would seem graceful. His eyes were violet, with flecks of grey, his overall completion was tan, but there were raised edges and white marks across his face, marring his other ethereal appearance. He was tall as the twins, but slight in comparison, a willow between two elms.
When the wolves passed they smugly bared their teeth in challenge, knowing that, the three betas wouldn't be able to do much against them, and they wouldn't dare do anything while school was in session. As they passed they took deep breaths and noticed something familiar, something they hadn't smelled in a long time, but they couldn't very well place it. The bell rang singaling time for class, and they sprinted, knowing that if they were tardy once more, Coach would have their heads, so be it if they were first string or not.
Hope you guys like it, and there is going to be action, and sorry for the slow progression, for some reason these last few chapters have been hard to type. I know a few scenes but getting there…UGH. Anyway, stay warm and Check out my other story Another Name For a Rose! Until next time, Adieu!
