A/N: Thank you for all the reviews , favs, and follows!
Nicole stopped dead in her tracks, as if a ghost stood in front of her. Sucking in a breath, she continued on to her room. The tension that consumed them as they crossed paths could be cut with a knife. The feeling of her long hair swayed back and forth on her bare lower back, giving her something to concentrate on other than the large Samoan.
"Joe." Ultimately deciding it would be best to be the bigger person, she acknowledged him as she passed. Once well in front of him, a sigh could be heard throughout the hallway.
"Can we please talk?" The voice stopped her feet from moving her body any further.
"We talked. Everything got cleared. Drop it." Her eyebrows raised in seriousness as she turned and glared at the large man. He simply shook his head and responded.
"I don't wanna do this with you. You know how much you mean to me and how close we are. Don't throw it away Nicole." Joe reached out to grab a hold of her hand. Swiftly pulling back, a look of disgust crossed her face.
"Don't throw it away? Are you serious?"
"That came out completely wrong. Please, can we talk? Please?" The inside of Nicole's lip stung as her teeth gnawed away at it.
"Fine." The single word dripped with distain. "But we're going to my room." She harshly joked. She heard him chuckle as they continued down the hallway.
"You have 5 minutes." As she opened the door to her suite, she threw her purse to the floor and kicked her shoes off. A roll of the eyes was her response when she heard him mumble.
"I…I don't even know why you wanna talk. We had an understanding! I misinterpreted what was going on. What the hell is there to talk about, I mean seriously?" Her arms wailed in exaggeration.
"No… no. no no no. Get away." Nicole took a few steps back as Joe walked towards her.
"Come on sweetheart. Gimme another chance." Her body stiffened in his grasp, once he reached her. His hand was grazing over her arm, indulging in the vulnerability that was starting to seep through her body.
"There was never a chance in the first place." She tried, failing miserably as her voice cracked. Her long lashes fluttered shut when as she felt his large arms wrap around her torso in a gentle hug.
"I'm sorrrry." It was long, and carried out. "You could never be a mistake. You mean a lot to me. You know that." He finished by grazing his thumb over her tanned face and placing a light kiss on her forehead. His other hand was busy being a tangled mess in her hair.
"Where's your fiancé?" The sigh that escaped Joe's lips was music to her ears, for he dropped his hands from her skin.
"Where's Huber?" The rebutted question caught the raven-haired beauty off guard. The warmth of his hands was long gone, and she was left standing there in temporary shock, though his body was still centimeters from hers.
"I don't wanna do this. I had the most amazing night of my life and I'm not letting you ruin it for me. You've done this enough to me. You knew how I felt about you, and I thought you felt the same. I was wrong. I'm admitting it, okay? But, it's in the past. I agree with you. Lets look past it. You mean a lot to me and you're one of my good friends. But I will not let you keep doing this to me Joe!" The pain was evident in her words. Her brown locks cascaded down her shoulders as she bowed her head in exhaustion. "It's my fault. You're a great guy. I was just too blind to see that you're not over and never will be over her." Nicole gave a pointed look, making sure to emphasize 'her'.
"You don't even know 'her'!" Joe mocked her.
"I don't want to! What the hell makes you think I would?" Nicole raised an angry eyebrow as she soon continued. "Are you just… stupid? That's all you can say after everything I just said? 'You don't know her.' You're a real piece of work ya know that Joe?" Her head shook in disbelief at the stupidity from the man before her.
"I don't know what to tell you. I wanted to talk to you to smooth things over. But-"
"Everything is fine. We're fine." Nicole cut him off abruptly. She watched as his face gave off a look of uncertainty.
"I'm serious, Joe." She placed her hand on his arm for reassurance.
"And just for future reference, she's been cheating on me. We're not together and it's gonna stay like that. You know I don't deal with that babygirl." A simple eye roll was all he received in response.
"I'm serious."
"Whatever you say. Look, I hate to be a bitch-" It was Joe's turn to cut her off.
"But you're gonna be?" The large man ducked, as an object that was in her arms reach flew past his head.
"Damn, the Puerto Rican in you ain't a joke huh?" Joe laughed.
"And the Italian side of me knows a few disappearing tricks." Her eyebrow arched again in a joking manner.
"Let me get out of here before I wake up with a horse head in my bed."
"Shut up." Nicole laughed as she walked him to the door.
"What time are you heading to the arena?" Joe turned his frame towards her once the reached the door.
"Probably noon. I'll get a quick work out in, then head up there."
"Cool, I'll see you tomorrow." They awkwardly stared at each other trying to figure out what the other would do. Finally getting over the vibe that came over them, Joe wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her to him. He let out a sigh of relief when he felt her arms snake around his torso. Nicole smiled into his chest as she breathed in his cologne. She felt him place a gentle kiss on top of her head and it almost through her over the edge.
"I think you should go." The long haired beauty gently pushed him away, but locked eyes with him.
"I think you should come." The innuendo didn't get the reaction out of her he had expected.
"Get out." Nicole pointed to the door with a stern look.
"Learn to laugh a little."
"Bye." She closed the door once he was on the other side. A small laugh escaped her lips as she made her way to her bed.
Her finger slid across the screen of her phone, signaling it to unlock.

Goodnight baby.
Come home with me after Raw on Monday.
A smile graced her tan features as she read Jon's texts. It soon vanished though as a feeling of guilt washed over her body. Sighing, she quickly replied stating she agreed to go to his house in Florida. Once she realized he had fallen asleep, the phone was placed on the end table next to the bed. She glanced at the clock, and grimaced once she realized it was way past bedtime. Wrestlemania was tomorrow and she needed all her bearings, just incase they decided to throw her in somewhere on the show.
A/N: sorry it's short. Life kinda slapped me in the face. But I did wanna get something up to hold you over lol. Thank you guys!
