After the feast, when they had returned to their room, Emma fell asleep immediately. For a time, Regina watched her peaceful slumber. But finding herself restless, she rose, wrapped her robe about her and headed down to the stables.

She often did this when she was younger and couldn't sleep; seek out the comfort of the horses. When she reached the barn, she was surprised to hear singing. It was low, but feminine. The notes weren't perfect, but the voice strong and sure and soothing. The brunette peeked around the door and looked in to see Alice brushing down Venus as she sang to the beast. The blonde paused and spoke:

"You may come out of the shadows, Your Majesty. It's only me."

Regina squared her shoulders and entered the warm, hay-filled stables, suddenly finding herself, for some explicable reason, soothed. "Venus seems to like you."

"She's a magnificent animal; what's more, is she knows it." The horse whinnied and shook her head. "Go on, you silly beast." The blonde laughed then turned to Regina to regard her with her large, amber eyes. "What's troubling you?"

"You are." The woman blurted out.

"Well, I like a woman that gets to the point." Alice laughed but backed slightly away so as not to frazzle the woman any more than she already was. "Look, I know this is all unbelievable to you. I don't understand it myself to be honest." She shrugged, reminding the brunette of the irksome blonde asleep in her bed. "But I want you to know that I will do my damnedest to get you back on track to save your son. I swear it."

The brunette looked into her eyes and saw earnest conviction. "Someone will have to take Venus, we can't take her with us."

"I would be honored to take the mare." Alice bowed slightly. "She will be my own personal steed." She took the brunette's hand once more, kissed it with no small amount of chivalry and then headed back out into the night.

Regina turned to the horse who was fitting her with a withering stare. "I'm sorry, girl." The woman leaned into the animal. "But you cannot come where we are going. At least not for now. Alice will take care of you. You will love it here." The brunette allowed the horse to cuddle her against her side with her head as they both sought comfort. "I'll send Emma down in the morning to see you before we go. Take care of yourself." Regina said as she dried her eyes on her cape and headed back up to bed.

The next morning, when the blonde returned from saying goodbye to Venus, she ate her breakfast quietly. When Alice came down to get them, the pair of women rose silently and followed her out to the courtyard.

"Are you ready?" Their host asked.

"Yes."

"Where will you be sending us?"

"To the place you burst through."

"You can do that?"

"Yes."

"And the Grimmerie?" Emma asked for the second time.

"Once the portal is open, toss it to me and jump in." She said coming to stand close to them. She took their hands as she had before and looked back and forth between them before reaching behind her and pulling out a package.

"What's this?" Regina asked quizzically.

"It's a mirror. I keep its twin with me at all times. It's made from the looking-glass that Elphaba recieved from Turtleheart. We can communicate through it. I'll keep in touch." Then the blonde, pausing for half a second, leaned in and kissed them both lightly on the cheek before stepping back and crossing the courtyard. "Ready?" she called.

The women nodded and Emma readied to toss. Alice closed her eyes and raised her hands and the ground began to shake. Suddenly the earth slipped away before them and began swirling and churning. "Go now!" Alice called as she began to break a sweat. Emma tossed the book like a Frisbee and the blonde caught it with one hand without breaking concentration.

The lean blonde grabbed the brunette's hand and they leapt into the churning earth together before hurtling through timeless space. The ground closed and Alice dropped to her knees in the reforming dirt. Rishtay approached her. "Seems unfair to lose what could have been close friends and allies."

The blonde looked up with a grin. "We'll see them again."

"How do you know that?"

She shrugged. "How does one know anything? I feel it."

Emma never once loosened her grip on Regina as they hurtled through the Technicolor acid trip of spatial travel. Suddenly, they hit a curtain of water before colliding with a solid, wooden deck.

"Emma!" shouted a familiar voice.

"Snow? David?" The blonde pulled Regina to her feet before flying into her parents' arms.

"We thought we lost you in the portal!" Snow clutched at her in desperation as they continued to fly on the ship through the swirling electric colors.

"Here we are, hang on unless ye want to go overboard again!" Shouted Hook.

Emma shoved her parents in the direction of the mast and gathered up the bewildered brunette before pinning her to the wall and anchoring herself with a quick loop of rope over her forearm. The ship burst through the wall of water and bobbed like an agitated cork on the sea. In the distance, an island spread before them.

"Neverland." Said Hook cryptically.

Emma let Regina away from the mast and both women locked eyes. What would it be like now that they were back? The blonde stared defiantly at the brunette before pulling her toward her parents. Emma haltingly explained where they had landed when they burst through the wall of the portal and the journey that had ensued; leaving out the hot, magic sex, of course. She explained the queen and who she was and Alice and what had happened at Kiamo Ko.

All the while, Hook's smirk widened and her parent's eyes grew larger and larger as Rumplestiltskin wore an inscrutable expression. "And now you and Regina are…dating?" Snow asked with uncertainty.

"Umm…I wouldn't call it dating."

"Then what would you call it? David asked weakly.

"Rutting." Grunted the pirate in the back ground.

"Jesus, Hook!" hissed Emma in embarrassment. "Look, I can't begin to imagine how bizarre this is for all of you." She shrugged in frustration. "But we won't be in your business if you will refrain from getting in ours."

Her father looked like he might explode, but Snow pinned Regina with searching eyes then looked back her daughter. "I trust you, Emma."

"David?" the blonde asked weakly.

"Ok." Was all he could muster. But it was better than nothing.

"Ok," Emma grinned nervously and turned to Regina. "Let's get our son."
