"Daddy, are you listening? Mummy said that this computer is way better and, it comes in pink!" Felicity heard her daughter tell Oliver. He bent down, took the newspaper and just stared at their daughter, stunned. As far as felicity could remember there was only one other time she had seen that expression on his face. It was during their wedding day, when the double doors of the church opened to reveal her in her white dress. When she ask him about it later, he said that he could not believe he was standing there about to marry the person he loved most in the world. Of course now she shared that love with their children and didn't mind one bit.
"Alright my energetic little boy, come here," Felicity walked over to the bed and scooped their son off the bed and held him in one hand. She held out her other hand and said "Ellie, can we ask daddy later? Come help mummy make breakfast." Ellie gave a small pout and took Felicity's hand. The three of them left room and walked towards the kitchen.
Oliver did not move as he watched the three of them leave the room. He felt his entire world crumbling before him. Children? How could he have children? It wasn't because he taught he could not physically produce them, but because he felt that he would never be emotionally stable or ready to even want a child, much less two of them. He slumped to the ground, closed his eyes and put his head in his hands, wishing it was 2014 again, whishing he was back on the island, wishing he was anywhere but here. What if he was stuck here? How could he live a life he was not ready for? What if he never remembered being ready for it?
Oliver did not know how long he remained in this position; he just knew that he tried to shut out every thing around him, to collect himself. But every now and again he will hear bits and pieces of conversation. The first partial conversation he heard was Felicity on the phone asking someone to take the children to the zoo. The next was her telling the little boy, that the four of them will go together another day. The last thing he heard before total silence descended was the doorbell ringing and mumbles of conversation between Felicity and who he guessed to be the person she was talking to on the phone.
Total silence and time was what he needed to clear his thoughts and fortify his emotional wall. When he was finally ready, he decided that he will get back to his time by any means necessary and he knew he can't do it by sitting here. So, Oliver clenched his fist and squeezed his eyes shut one last time before looking up. At first his vision was blurry then as he came to, he saw Felicity sitting on the floor across from him, she had a pained expression on her face.
"Are you okay?" she asked him.
" I honestly don't know how to answer that." Oliver replied.
" Honesty, that is good start." Felicity nodded. " I'm sorry for not telling you about them, it's just everything happened so fast and I did not want to alarm them…"
"I really don't want to hear about them now." Oliver interjected.
Felicity felt hurt by that but sobered quickly. She should not be hurt; this must be hell for him. "Your right, sorry. We have to solve this. I have made arrangements, we are free to start. Since 2014, there is a lot that has changed. We can take it one at a time."
" The less I know about the changes the better, if this is the future…" Oliver trailed off, he could not finish the sentence.
Felicity did not wait for him to continue. " Then lets start with what you remember last. You remember the date, can you remember what happened? We can star from the beginning of the day."
Oliver started, when he tried to retrieve his memory, it felt like trying to retrieve a dream. The memory was hazy but came back slowly. " May 23rd, I was at Queen Consolidated' s board meeting in the morning, when Bludhaven was struck with an earthquake. We felt the slight tremor but by the time we knew what happened at Bludhaven, reports came in that it was an isolated incident. Rescue teams where mobile. We were doing everything we could to aid them."
Oliver gestured towards her. "" You got a call from Barry, he asked us whether there was another earthquake machine. We told him no, then he voiced that Bludhaven was geologically stable and there was slim chance that an earthquake would hit it without affecting the surrounding area…"

Secret Base Below Verdant
"Oliver, there may be another machine out there." Felicity said as she put down her cell phone and swiveled her chair around to look at Oliver and Sarah.
"I just got off the phone with Lyla" Diggle said walking in. " The official news is that the earthquake was a natural disaster."
"The unofficial news?" Sarah asked.
"It was definitely a machine. It's either the same kind or someone else created a new one." Diggle replied
"We destroyed the prototype, right? I mean I did see it blow up." Roy said standing over Felicity's computer.
Oliver took in a sharp breath and asked, " Does ARGUS have any leads?"
"If they did, they are not saying anything to us or Lyla, but she did hear a name being mentioned, but it could be a completely separate case. The name was Peter Degaton" Diggle responded
"Felicity" Oliver said.
"On it" Felicity answered as she typed the name into every known database she had hacked into. " Peter Degaton aka Per Degaton was a scientist in World War 2. He worked on a lot of top-secret stuff. Even the CIA database is not privy to the information. And I said was a scientist because he died in 1989. There is nothing else here."
" Then there is only one person we can ask," said Oliver.
In an ARGUS warehouse
" I should have known your team would be on it, how you got the name is alarming but as for now, we need all the help we can get." Amanda Waller standing tall in front of Diggle in her red high heels.
Diggle had called the only ARGUS number he had, asked for a message to be sent to Amanda Waller while casually injecting the name Per Degaton into the message to draw her out. She is by far the hardest woman to contact, but in this case it only took 20 minutes before he got a place and time to meet up.
Diggle pursed his lips as he waited for her to continue.
Amanda continued. " Peter Degaton was a scientist in World War 2 as you may know. What you don't know, is that he worked on a very special and top secret project that researched how to breach the space time continuum and he is very much alive."
" Your telling me he what? He created a time machine?" Diggle asked.
"No, he did not create it, but he is using it." Amanda confirmed. "I can't tell you how we know, I can only tell you that he has the earthquake machine Merlyn built and is using it now. We need to find him. We know he is here in the city but don't know why. I am only telling you this because he is who we need to track, not a relative, not a look alike, we need to find the original man." Amanda handed a file to Diggle. " This file contains his blood type, finger prints and all other relevant information you need to track him. Time is of the essence; he may use the machine again." "Our time is up, you know how to contact me, only do so if you have found him or the machine."
Diggle asked for her to wait and tried to ask more questions, but she just walked away. " From super humans to time travelling, this is getting weird." John Diggle said to himself.
Present Day
Oliver and Felicity's bedroom
"I remembered what happened next. " Felicity said and broke Oliver's train of taught. "We did not find him, we only found the machine, and you refused to hand it over to ARGUS, so we destroyed it."
"Exactly" Oliver joined in " Then everyone went home except you and I. You were staying back to run diagnostic on the computers and I had to restring Roy's bow because he kept breaking it." As he said this, he saw Felicity's face turn from agreement to confusion. "What?" he asked.
"I didn't stay back that day, I went home. I remember cause that was the day" Felicity stopped abruptly and shook her head. " I was home, I remember."
" The day what?" Oliver got curious.
"Nothing" Felicity deflected. " What happened at the Foundry after that?"
" We were talking and suddenly a bright light appeared. A guy with reddish white hair in a black get up with a giant D embossed on it appeared. He looked like the Per guy but older, much older. He was closer to you when he appeared, so he grabbed you and kept asking where was the machine. You elbowed him and got away, we fought. That's the last thing I remember. The next ting I know, I am here."
Felicity more talking to herself than him said. " Something changed, the way we remembered the ending of the day is different. That one detail is different. Which means you may not have lost your memory and actually could be from the past or a different dimension..."
"Different dimension?" Oliver looked at her alarmed
"Scratch that, I think I'm watching too many Doctor Who shows." Felicity said with a sheepish smile.
Smiling while shaking his head, Oliver relaxed. For the first time, he felt comfortable again. It was largely because he remembered what happened and now has a lead, and hopefully a way home. But if he was being completely honest with himself, a part of it could be because he was going through all this with Felicity, who is someone he can always trust and count on and, without meaning to make him smile at the most unexpected moments.
" We have a lot to do and I know where to start. If your ready, I have to tell you some of the things that have changed, there is no avoiding it. " Felicity got up from the floor as she saw Oliver nod his head in agreement.
"First thing first, you need a shower. Showers didn't change that much in 10 years so you should be fine. The bathroom is that way." Pointing at the door behind him. " I will get your clothes laid out, something comfortable, nothing flashy, no that you have anything flashy…"
Oliver noticed Felicity started babbling; there must be something that is worrying her.
"Here" Felicity said handing him a dark green towel. He took it from her, but before he she let go, he asked, "You called the girl Ellie before, is that her full name?"
Felicity was surprised at the question but answered anyway, "Eleanor Megan Queen"
"And the boy?" Oliver asked
"Conner Timothy Queen"
I apologise for taking so long to update. I started my internship, and there was simply no time.
Hope you enjoy it.
