Chapter Twenty-Nine
Alex was released and Piper fussed all the way home. She had specific instructions to watch for signs of worsening concussion. She read the paper and any website she could.
"Piper if you go on Web MD one more time, I'm going to recoup with Nicky and Lorna " Alex teased. Piper frowned and took the hint. She brought Alex up from to their home the back way.
"Ya know, we might wanna move to the Brownstone when one of us get pregnant. I think I'd be a nervous wreck if you had to walk up and down these steps," Piper mumbled. Alex just looked at her and gave her a small smile.
"If you want to move back to Brooklyn once we start our family that is fine with me. I thought maybe we'd travel about some first with the young tyke. Remember that couple we saw in Cairo? "Alex asked as Piper tucked her in on the couch.
"Couple?" Piper inquired.
"Yeah a young man and woman...they had a small toddler. She wasn't really a whiney kid...but played well in the airport. She spoke a mix match of Arabic and English. You chatted up the guy..." Alex prompted.
Piper did recall. They were beautiful. They were stuck waiting on a flight with them for hours and the kid only cried once as she was going to sleep. Piper spoke to the father while the mom took their daughter to the bathroom...their names she couldn't recall though. "Yes I do remember now. They traveled all over with their kid. We had a long talk on the plane about whether that was healthy." Alex nodded. It touched Piper that she remembered that.
"You weren't sure but you did say she was a pretty cool child," Piper recalled.
Alex laughed and nodded. She told Piper that Finn was the only kid she ever saw came close. Piper smiled and marveled at the talk they were having. She was afraid to change the subject. Yet she was worried Alex was in pain.
"Do you need some more of the over the counter meds? I know you can't do the hard narcotics-" Piper hoped Alex would relent and take at least some codeine or something. Alex just shook her head no.
"I'm sore yes but okay. My head hurts from the cut more than anything," Alex assured. Piper kissed her and felt her pulse race as Alex darted her tongue in and out of Piper's mouth that makes her shiver.
"Hey, I asked the doctor he said we should at least wait a day or two for that...so just you wait for New Orleans. You are going to rest while I do my gig, then we'll go to dinner and um enjoy a night in that lovely hotel," Piper promised. Alex smiled again and she pushed her glasses up.
"You're no fun, kid. I'm fine. I've had hangovers worse than this..." Alex winked at her and Piper laughed. She knew Alex was in pain but she played it down. Piper didn't care because Alex was safe and sound at home.
"You sure are mentioning when we have kids a lot lately. You told the Doctor that you've spoken about it in therapy," Piper prompted. She crossed her legs and sat on the floor beside the couch. Chaucer jumped in her lap and she stroked his fur. Alex reached down and scratched his head and he started his loud purr.
She nodded some and bit her bottom lip. "It has been on my mind a lot lately. Even more after Polly and Pete's news...I never saw myself as a parent. I never wanted kids but all the reasons I gave were a crock of shit. I just didn't think I could do a good job. My mom had to work so hard and sacrifice so much for me that I decided I wouldn't do that. The world sucked and I wasn't going to contribute to it by forcing my kid to grow up in it. I was...afraid. Pure and simple...but now I'm not so afraid," Alex said quietly. She looked at Piper and smiled.
Piper took her hand and saw the hospital bracelet on her wrist. She swallowed. "I'm afraid all the time. Why are you not so afraid now? Is it therapy? Is it working so well that you've rationalized it away?" Piper really wanted to know. She had felt growth in her counseling but she was still scared.
"No, it isn't gone...or my therapy..you are why I'm not afraid Piper," Alex stated. It was so clear that Piper was startled by the simplicity. Alex was why she wasn't afraid to try as well. They took a nap on the couch and Piper was awakened by a knock on the door. She untangled all of her limbs from the sleeping Alex. The fact she could do that and not wake her up, told Piper volumes about how much the walk up to the apartment had affected her.
The knock was from the front door so Piper thought it was probably Taystee checking up on Alex. Poussey got in town last night and she was expecting a visit. She was always the most polite person. Piper remembered how she had married them with such beauty and grace. She was smiling when she opened the door.
Her smile faded when she saw it was none other than Larry Bloom. Piper blinked.
"Uh...Larry?" she asked, he started to speak and she saw her parents coming up the steps behind him.
"Oh hello Larry, excuse us. Hello dear, how is she?" her mother said as she breezed past him on the doorstep. Her father looked over at him. Piper didn't answer her question.
"Oh hello Mr. Chapman, I am really happy to see you looking so healthy and great," Larry said with a sincerity that was hard not to see. Her father nodded his head at Larry.
"I was sorry to hear about your father. I will be forever grateful to your family for Piper's legal aide. I hope your mother is well?" he inquired. Piper looked back at her own mother in the apartment. She had stopped to place food on the counter. Piper guessed her mom had made her baked ziti. Her mouth watered at the very idea of having some for lunch. She turned back to hear Larry tell his father that she was doing okay and is moving to Florida with her younger sister.
"What brings you to visit my daughters?" he asked as he kissed his only biological daughter hello. Her father turned and put his arm around Piper's waist as he turned to box out the open door frame. His body language was very selective. He was pretty much telling Larry there was no way in hell he was coming in their apartment. She started to say something but it Piper was thankful for the help. She didn't want Alex to wake up and see him. The last time they spoke, she'd been alright because Larry was helping Piper to the brownstone.
Larry looked at Piper and then her father. Anyone could see her relationship with her parents was better. No...it was reborn. Piper felt her mother come up behind her and she could only smile. "Um...I am leaving for California and I heard at the grocery store that Alex had been hurt. I wanted to check in on them before I left and um..." he was going to ramble the way he did whenever Piper's dad would ask him about his job prospects.
Piper jumped in to save him. Maybe out of habit...but mostly, she wanted to eat some Ziti. "Oh thanks Larry. Dad, you remmeber I told you that larry helped me when I was injured as well. We're in a good spot. Larry, please tell your mother to enjoy Florida and be safe in your travels. I know you really considered moving back to be with your mom so I know you're happy it is settled."
"Yeah..um yes I am. I really like my job and it will be easier when I'm back on the right Coast. Anyway, I just wanted to check on you and say bye," he said lamely.
"Alex is sleeping or ...well no I wouldn't invite you in her home while she wasn't at her best," Piper admitted. He nodded grimly and turned to go.
"Larry...I really mean it. I wish you the best and give my best to your mom," Piper said gently. He smiled at her and turned to walk back down the steps. Piper saw Poussey was leaning against the desk at the bottom, eyeing him. She gave her a chin up head move that told Piper she'd make sure he left the store with no incident. Piper put her hand on her heart and looked down to her as Larry turned to go down the last stairs. They were well protected.
"Wanker," her father said as he turned to walk back inside. Piper burst out laughing at the comment. Her mother was searching for plates so Piper helped. Her dad went to see Alex. She was still sleeping so Piper started to tell him it was time to wake her up. She walked over and stopped when she saw him tenderly brush back her hair from her face. He sat on the table like Piper did earlier.
Piper swallowed her emotions and said to him, " She needs to wake up anyway. I'm still careful not to let her sleep too long...I'm worried because of the concussion." Her mother walked up and stood beside her.
"Are you two okay now? You seemed alright the other morning but you didn't want to talk about it. Why did Alex come over to the Brownstone so late?" her mom asked.
"I called her," Piper's dad replied.
"What?" her head spun around so fast to look at him she felt the strain in her neck. "You called Alex and told her to come over?"
"Well, I didn't tell her to come over...I called her and told her that it was my fault you ran when things got hard. After all, that is exactly what I did in my own marriage. I told her that you were harder on yourself than anyone and even though you were mad as hell at her for whatever the reason, that you were angrier at yourself. I told her that good partners see that and help the other person let go of their anger in a constructive way. I take it she helped you in a um...passionate way," he responded with a gleam in his eye. Piper blushed bright red and fumbled over to Alex. She kissed her lips upside down to wake her. Her eyes flitted open and she smiled at the upside down Piper. Then she sniffed.
"Is that baked Ziti?" Alex asked. Her mother laughed and Piper rose so she could see her parents.
"Oh..hello there in laws. Alex started to shoot right up but winced and had to move more slowly. Her father reached out and helped her lean up. She whispered her thanks.
"Come help me plate lunch Piper. Your father and I will have water with lunch you get whatever you two would like," her mom said as she turned to go back to the business of making lunch. Piper got them water as well.
"Oh so we're having lunch..oh okay...great I didn't really think about lunch," Piper admitted.
Her mother scoffed but Piper grinned and kept on helping. They set the table and Alex moved gingerly to sit down at the table. Her father moved to sit at her right. She was going to give him the head seat but he moved over. Piper smiled at this little respect. It hit her that this is how he would have acted if it was Larry's table. Alex rubbed her temple some and Piper leaned in to ask her if she wanted some tylenol.
"Tylenol? Piper...really...get the girl something better. I think I still have some Vicodin from your...wait they only sent her home with Tylenol?" her mother was really confused. Piper started to explain, then it hit her that Alex had never told her parents about her addiction. Piper knew her mother had a poor opinion of "druggy, dirty, hippie types".
"Well, it is always best not to use it if you don't need it. I'll get your meds baby," Piper answered. She was about to deflect more when Alex held up her hand.
"Actually, Mrs. Chapman...after Piper left my sorry ass in Europe for trying to roper her in to more of my illegal activities, I started doing the heroin I sold. So I don't take narcotics." Alex looked up from her plate and Piper stopped fetching the meds. She was geared up to go rounds with her mother.
Yet again she surprised her. "I had to do a stint in rehab for drinking myself when I got separated. It was for drinking though." Her mother said this casually. Piper thought she must have misheard.
"You what?" Piper grabbed the medicine and returned to the table. She kept her mother's stare untl she had recappped the bottle of medicine. Her mother looked uncomfortable and looked over at Piper's dad. He just nodded and gave her the most amazing smile.
"I needed to clean up a bit. I was a bottle hider and my drinking had a ton to do with why we broke apart in the first place," she said. Alex nodded and took her meds. Piper was quiet thinking about how far her mother and father had come. Alex told them about their upcoming trip and her mom gave them a slew of traveling advice.
"Mom, we've um traveled the world over a couple of times over together. This is however, our first trip together to New Orleans," Piper admitted. Her father surprised her by remembering she visited New Orleans in college for Mardi Gras. Piper said she didn't remember much of that trip.
"Oh...who was she...or he?" Alex asked teasing. Piper blushed and said it was a HE and his name was Randy. This made Alex laugh so much that she had to hold her head. She and her father teased Piper about the guys she dated and their names.
"Yes, like that wanker Larry that was just here. Larry...it sounds like a sleazeball Vegas performer," her dad said shaking his head and eating some more ziti.
Alex turned to Piper. "Larry was here? When?" Piper was mid chew so her mother butted in.
"He was knocking on the door as we came up the stairs. No worries though, that delightful minister friend of yours was watching him and told him not to ask to come in without Piper giving him an invite. It was quiet sweet to hear. She hadn't seen us yet," she explained. Alex frowned and looked over at Piper again. She had swallowed.
"Poussey got in and she was watching him like a hawk. He wanted to check how we were and to say goodbye I guess. He is heading back to California because his mom is moving to Florida," Piper added quickly.
Alex smiled. "Fantastic. One in Alaska and one in California...that is just the way I like it. No more boys for you...unless well we have one," Alex said again. Piper grinned big and the ate some more. Her mother made way too much so Piper texted Taystee and the rest of the gang to ask if they'd like to have dinner. She knew without a doubt that Alex would eat it for dinner as well. Her mom told them that Cal, Neri and the baby send their best. He had an art show in Camden this weekend and it was crunch time...whatever that meant. Piper understood though and so did Alex.
Her parents stayed just a little while longer. They gave their hugs and told Piper they were heading to back home tomorrow as well. Her father hugged Alex and inspected her stitches. Neither one of her parents had mentioned Becca or how it happened. Piper was very grateful. Alex hadn't mentioned her name after that one time in the hospital. Her father pulled out his pocket knife and cut the hospital bracelet off of Alex.
"Not needed anymore. You get some rest so you can enjoy your trip. Piper, take good care of her...as good as your mom did for me, okay?" He said sweetly as he hugged them both goodbye.
Alex watched them go and Piper turned to her. She saw that Alex was crying and rushed over. "Are you okay? Does it hurt too much? Forget the trip..we'll go back to the ER...you didn't need to have a brave face for them. Let's go-"
"Piper shut up," Alex said. Piper shut her mouth and tried not to look hurt. "I'm fine..well my head hurts yes but nothing too harsh. No I'm crying because for just a second there I felt..." She swallowed and Piper got really concerned.
"What?" she prompted, still concerned what was bothering her was a symptom of brain damage.
"I felt what it must be like to have a Dad," Alex said softly. Piper didn't know what to feel but tears sprung to her eyes. She had always envied Alex's relationship with her mother. Now she could see the same in Alex.
Piper kissed her cheek and smiled as she said, "He stroked your hair while you were sleeping on the couch. He used to do that when I was home sick. It stopped me in my tracks. He has two daughters now. Welcome to the family baby," Piper walked Alex towards the bathroom as she said it. Alex inquired as to what they were doing and Piper told her there was a warm bath in their future. Not too hot because it might make her head hurt too much, but a nice warm one would be divine. Alex agreed and let Piper lead her in to their sanctum.
They made love in the tub. It was soft and slow. Alex enjoyed it but afterwards it did cause her head to ache more. She assured Piper it was worth it though. Piper had held her in her arms as she rubbed her sex. Alex had relaxed completely and let Piper send her soaring.
Piper decided to wash a load of laundry so Alex had more comfortable clothing for the trip. She didn't think she wanted to wear dresses and heels while taking it easy at the hotel. Alex was going to go order a book she wanted to read on her kindle for the trip. Alex always read on Red-eye flights, while Piper slept with her head on her shoulder.
She came out of the laundry room when she heard voices. Her stomach dropped when she saw Officers Hardy and Denver standing in the foyer. Alex was closing the door but she pushed up her glasses as she turned and Piper was certain she was freaked out.
"Sorry to bother you but we're both happy to see you're alright. Let me get to the point, we're here to check over some details of what happened. We saw the assault but from a point of view that was blocked," Hardy began. Alex invited them to have a seat at the dining table rather than answer the question. Piper offered them something to eat or drink. They politely declined and just looked at Alex to answer the question. It made Piper nervous. It reminded her of how Caputo grilled her about Pensatucky.
"Becca was verbally abusive but she didn't push me. I turned too quickly and the weight of the box made me slip. She tried to catch me," Alex said.
"She did push her way in front of you and cause you to be distracted. You never would have fallen if she wasn't on the steps!" Piper said with sudden vehemence. It irked her that Becca would get off scott free for this.
"That may be the case, but if she didn't push her she didn't push her. However, she did push me and fight when we restrained her. So she is going back to prison. She is currently in lock up awaiting transport. We just wanted to make sure our report included your statement. Thank you for the invite and I'm really sorry this happened to you. You both are great people, but please realize not all convicts can hack it on the outside world. You gave her every opportunity to do her parole in peace. She is her own enemy," Office Denver stated in his clear voice. Piper nodded and Alex thanked them for coming over rather than having her come down to the station.
Piper turned with a wicked thought. She looked at Alex and she shot up one perfectly sculpted eyebrow. "Well, Danbury was turned into a men's facility. So that transport will be from the Litch. She'll finish her sentence there." Alex didn't know what to say to that.
"I can't picture her there because those two worlds seem so different to me," Alex said. Piper nodded but let the subject drop.
"I feel bad for Rebecca but now that they've talked, maybe Becca will get her act together and let her daughter visit," Piper said.
"There is more to the story there but ya know...I don't give a shit. She was someone I cared for when I was lost without you. It has occupied too much of our lives these past months. I'm done. Oh do you know where the books went from the box? I need to set up the display?" Piper knew she was changing the subject but it was totally worth it to hear Alex put it all to rest.
"Taystee put them by the sofa," she answered. Piper went back to packing while Alex worked a bit. She heard her on the phone with Nicky getting all the shifts covered and making preperations for all of them to be taken off the schedule completely starting tomorrow.
"Um Piper what are we having for dinner so Lorna can bring a side?" Alex asked confused. Piper giggled and it surprised her. She couldn't believe how happy she was at times.
"Leftover Ziti...we didn't make a dent in the pan Mom brought over," she answered. Alex seemed to think about it...then Piper realized she didn't like sharing her ziti.
"It's too much for us to eat tomorrow. Poussey and Taystee are coming over too...that way we can ask them to watch Chaucer. Or you can call Finn to ask him though really that is Polly and I'm not sure what they are up to. I really should have thought about that. I need my assistant back full time!" Piper said louder. It was a common complaint. Raven pretty much helped to manage all stores and worked for Piper as well. Piper just missed the days when she thought of everything for her because she was on a busy book tour.
"Is Raven coming over too? There isn't THAT much food Piper!" Alex complained. She laughed and told her Raven was working at Nicky's store tonight. Alex said, "Oh yeah" like they had just discussed it.
"Are you having short term memory loss?" Piper inquired. Alex assured her she wasn't and not to worry. She got off the phone with Nicky and they snuggled on the couch watching the DVR. Piper had become addicted to this new show on Netflix and the new season was coming out in a few days. She wanted to catch Alex up on the story so they could binge watch it in bed together. Alex laughed so hard at one point she spit her soda out. Piper didn't mind the mess because seeing her laugh that hard was wonderful.
"See...told you it was hilarious. It is hard to imagine such a great female cast...it is sorta like prison," Piper snarked. Alex had to agree. The first to arrive for dinner was Poussey. She had her bag and was cutting through to the loft. She came back down with some brownies she bought from Piper's favorite bakery. Taystee was next and she hugged Piper hard but was gentle with Alex. They were still greeting her when Lorna and Nicky arrived.
"Good to see you up and about Vause #1," Nicky joked. Piper beamed. She didn't mind being Vause #2 though Taystee did point out that it sounded like she was calling Piper a pile of shit.
After the table was set with the huge salad that Lorna brought and her mom's ziti they all sat down like they used to at the commissary. It was funny really how they passed the plates back and forth and talked about their day. Poussey shared stories about telling her family she was moving and their reactions. She was so animated that Piper almost got choked laughing.
"I'm just glad it is all settled now. Oh..I'm also thankful for my car service. Damn, Piper you weren't kidding when you said you'd pay me back. I take that damn car everywhere. I call them, this guy Ronald, he is my driver..he is there lickety split. Poussey and I are gonna use it this weekend to visit the prison. Black Cindy's birthday is Sunday," Taystee told them.
Piper wished she could make her a casserole but told Taystee she'd send her a card and maybe put some money on her commissary if she needed it. Nicky seemed to be doing well and she went over to talk to Alex while the rest cleaned up. The brownies were delightful but Piper could only eat half because of the amount of pasta she'd had that day.
"I'm gonna be bloated, we had that for lunch too," Piper said. Each girl went on and on about her mom's ziti. Piper beamed with pride.
"She made it for Alex," Piper grinned.
"Yeah you bitches better be thankful...that is the first time anyone but my own mom made me something to make me feel better. Hey Taystee, I have a new name for you," Alex said changing the subject again.
"Yeah what?" she asked warily.
"Laundry," Alex replied.
"What? I'd ask if you hit your head but I know you did...what you talking about Vause?" Taystee asked with her hand on her hip.
"You know...since you clotheslined Becca" They all laughed and Poussey started shouting something like "beat a bitch down".
"I'd done more but the Po Po was right there," she said and all nodded agreeing. Piper knew she'd done a hell of a lot more if there hadn't been witnesses. Alex told them that she didn't push her but yeah she did cause the accident. Piper informed them that Becca's sentence was reinstated and she was going back to prison and would probably get more time for the charges the cops filed.
"I hate to see anyone have to go back but I'm glad it happened to her. She was always in your shit...always trying to come between ya. I think she still had a thing for Alex but was too stupid to see how perfect the two of you are for each other," Lorna added. Piper gave her a hug. Alex asked Poussey if she'd come over tomorrow night before they left for the airport so she could go over Chaucer's diet. Piper didn't even hear her ask so she was pleased it was all settled.
There were lots of soft hugs as they said goodbye and Alex deflated once the door closed. Piper got her water, pills and then walked her to bed. She read to her for a short time before she fell to sleep. They were reading The Fault In Our Stars before the movie came out. Alex felt it was a bit sappy but she humored Piper. She fell to sleep on Piper and that was just fine with her.
The next day was an easy one for them. Piper worked most of the day and made phone calls about the trip. She finished up all her paperwork so she could spend quality time with Alex when they got back Saturday. She asked Alex what she'd like to do but she would only say to leave it open for possibility. Piper liked that answer.
She remembered one trip they took to Java when they had been bumped from their flight and there wasn't another one for a few days. Alex was pissed because she was going to get behind on her work. Piper was very happy to have some extra time, but she didn't show it. She was supportive and listened to what Alex complained about. Their crew of people all started to make plans. Some were going hiking and wanted them to come alone. Alex just declined. Some were going diving and Piper declined because she'd read articles about the huge amount of jellyfish in the area. She wasn't up for another sting. Everyone drifted out of the hotel and they were left sitting in their room. It wasn't much but this place had good plumbing. Alex was making money but not the great money at this point. Piper had to admit though that she really skimped on the hotels more when there was a crowd.
"So what do you want to do today?" Piper asked casually as she sunk down into her girlfriend's lap. Alex pushed her glasses up and kissed Piper on the shoulder...then up to her neck. Soon Piper was moaning on her lap and wiggling...begging for Alex to touch her everywhere. She obliged her, sliding her hand down her shorts to flick and play with her engorged clit.
" I think...I think I'll just wait and leave it open to possibilities... that okay with you kid?" Alex asked as she slid two fingers inside the very wet and ready Piper. She opened her blue eyes and gasped at the sensation.
"That...that is a perfectly great plan to me," she replied as Alex showed her what possibilities there were in the motion of her fingers.
No one visited them that day so Piper got all her work done and the packing. Alex insisted on helping. They'd have to check one bag but the other could go with them. Poussey came over before they left and Alex explained how Chaucer was on a diet because he ate too much. He was tricking them both in to feeding him in the morning and evening with his insistent meows. Poussey understood and promised to stick to his diet.
"You too have some fun, you deserve it. Don't worry about nuttin' we got this," she said as she headed out the door to the Loft. It was nice to know she'd stay there while they were gone.
Alex called a cab and they left with enough time to get to LaGuardia and through security for a domestic flight. Alex snuggled with her in the car and Piper knew she'd be having amazing sex while in New Orleans.
"I am gonna feed you jambalaya so good you will cry and with crawfish for starters," Alex teased and then she went on from there. Piper's stomach was growling by the time they got to the airport. She went through the ticket line as she was the one that bought the tickets. When she was done she saw Alex was in another line. She walked over to join her but got the evil eye from a security guard. She yelled to Alex that she was checking the bag and to meet her by the baggage carousel. She checked their bag and waited while watching the other bags go by. She remembered that sickening feeling. Piper avoided checking baggage whenever she could. Larry or Eva would always get her luggage. Now though, she was determined to wipe all that from her mind.
She felt Alex behind her, then her hair being lifted. Alex kissed her fish tattoo and it made her moan out loud. She flashed back to Alex putting make up on it and she felt her body sway.
Alex whispered in her ear, "Ya know I went to the roof of the MCC when I was in Chicago testifying. I could see the hotel where I put that make up on you. I convinced myself that having you do this was just another adventure. Now...I want to give you everything but keep you safe too." Piper smiled and relaxed against her for a moment before they had to make book it through security.
"So with that in mind...I bought us some tickets. I am going to whisk you away once you are done with work...don't worry I secretly packed your passport," Alex said with a grin. Piper turned in her arms with eyes wide and bright.
"Tell me...where?"Piper begged. She loved surprises but immediately wanted to know. She was a bit worried that Alex would overdo it. But she knew with Alex it could be para-sailing in Belgium or spas in Paris.
"Nope, I'm not telling you until you've thoroughly enjoyed New Orleans. Then...when we are in the line at the Airport, I'll tell ya!" Alex promised. Piper laughed and begged her again. She leaned up and whispered all the hot things she'd do to Alex if she let her know. "Oh yeah, I'm counting on it Pipes," was all she'd say. They made it through security with hardly a blink. Piper was amazed at how far Alex had come about letting someone touch her that way. They walked hand and hand towards the plane and Piper just laughed out.
Alex looked at her and smiled with a quizzical gaze, "I'm just so fucking Happy. I love you and I am happy. You're going to whisk me away on an adventure and well...I guess inevitable is getting easier," Piper replied.
"I'm going to cover you in kisses tonight while you think if ways to find out where we are going. No peeking, Piper Vause...got it?" Alex said. Piper could tell how much she loved calling her that.
"Got it," Piper stopped as they came to the line. She looked over at Alex and had an idea. She leaned over and whispered in her wife's ear, "We can start our adventure early and I can start to convince you to tell me where we're going. We've never cashed in our Mile High Club points on a domestic flight." Alex laughed a rich laugh and nodded enthusiastically. Piper took her hand and they headed down the jet bridge to the plane. She, Piper Vause was happy with her amazing wife. It wasn't always going to be easy but she knew they would make it.
