Arabelle rushed on ahead of the girls, as much as she wanted to stay she had chores to do and not because she was playing a game but because this was her life now; forever compelled to the Mikaelson family until her last dying days. However things were bound to get interesting with the temporary additions to the household, especially when Esther was away on business yet to find out about the girls.

Caroline and Bonnie walked down the halls, arms linked and chins up standing tall, they would not show any signs of weakness here in the original dragons layer.

"If he does anything to upset you or disrespect you in anyway you let me know there and then do you hear me" Caroline spoke lowly into Bonnies ear in hopes that the older vampires that lurked in the mansion were not tuned into their conversation at this precise time.

"Don't worry about me Care, I can handle myself around Kol" Bonnie whispered back as they made their way into the kitchen.

"and that darling is precisely what I like about you" Kol smirked using his vampire speed to be closer to them.

"I mean it Kol immortal or not I'll kill you" Caroline smiled sweetly but her tone had a bitter sting to it as she glared at the original that Bonnie had to endure for the next week.

"ooo Nik I can see why you like this one so much"Kol slapped his brother on the back "she is feisty just like her friend here and I thought Mystic Falls girls would be dull" he faked an awed tone whilst jumping to sit up on the counter top in the kitchen.

Klaus did not smile at how his brother mocked Caroline but instead smiled at her in an attempt to lighten her mood. "Caroline love I'm glad your already to go we have quite a day ahead of us and.." he didn't get to finish before he was cut off by Caroline.

"whoa whoa slow down there, I for one am not going anywhere with you and for two leaving Bonnie here with the vampire addams family and especially not in the care of the original asshole over there" she laughed as though it was the most obvious thing in the world, I mean what was he really expecting?

Kol laughed from the counter top as Klaus's smile all but vanished "Well darling I will give you that I may be an asshole, but I'm an asshole that bought your dear friend over there and I intend to put her to some use today so really you have no choice" he stated smugly with a grin plastered to his face.

"and as for point number one I'm surprised with you Caroline you didn't strike me as a princess that wanted to be locked in a tower rather one that wanted to explore the world" his eyes shone as he spoke to her and she couldn't help but blush slightly as he held her in such high respect.

Bonnie could see it in her friends face, though Caroline being Caroline tried to hide her excitement at the possibility of leaving this town even if only for a few hours, she could see how much Caroline wanted this despite her reaction. "Go Caroline like I said I'll be ok, I promise" she reassured her friend touched by her concern.

Caroline sighed deeply, on one hand it would be amazing to escape for a small while regardless of the company she would be keeping but on the other hand there was Bonnie, who was adamant that she should go. "Alright... lets go then" Caroline said slowly feeling a weight of guilt dropping on her shoulders.

"Excellent choice sweetheart" Klaus beamed holding his arm out for her to take, Caroline shot Bonnie one last apologetic look before leaving.

"Right little Witch". Kol paced the kitchen, "Shall we?"

The Salvatore Estate

Rebekah stormed into the dining area to find Stefan enjoying a cup of whatever animal had donated its blood to the anti ripper cause this time and reading the local newspaper in his workout clothes.

"She wakes" he stated in a surprised tone not bothering to look up from his paper.

Rebekah stood there rocking her stilettos, one hand placed on her hip as she stared unimpressed by the younger salvatore.

"Yes she wakes and she also waits all bloody morning for a breakfast in bed that never arrived" she said sarcastically her eyes locking with his as he looked up frowning at her.

"oh I'm sorry I give you a bed now I'm your lackey?" Stefan quipped back folding away his paper.

"I am a princess now Stefan" she smiled gently " you have to serve me for the next week so wipe that smug look off your face and start" she all but screamed at him.

"I think you're maybe taking this a bit far Rebekah, it isn't real" he shouted back already frustrated by her.

"We are to make it real Stefan" she glared into his eyes "if we don't make it real then what is the point of this week?" she asked annoyed by his lack of participation in what clearly was an important game to her. "I don't even have a costume" she pouted trying to lighten the mood.

Stefan sighed " it isn't real bekah your brother compelled me to buy you how are you not understanding that this is all fake, you are not a princess and I did not willingly buy you" he stood up from his chair turning to face the window, his morning was ruined.

"I see" she whispered "Well you've made your feelings quite clear" and with that she stormed out towards the door.

"No Rebekah look.." but she had already left the house and could have been anywhere.

Stefan felt awful raking his hands over his face he felt bad for the girl forever in pursuit of her humanity, craving a normal life, craving stability and the ability to do what other people have been able to, experience a normal life. She was just a young girl who had lived for 1000 years on the run. He sat down on the couch with a drink in his hand, somehow he had to fix this.

The Mikealson Mansion

"Kol must be kidding this list is endless" Bonnie complained to Arabelle "I mean look at this: vacuum every square inch of carpet, mop every piece of marble flooring, polish every bookshelf and desk, dust all ornaments and portraits, tidy each living space, mind the bedrooms, dispose of the bins, do the kitchenware and dishes, clean the appliances, scrub the tiles, buff the rugs, wash the windows, wipe down the door knobs, top up the drinks cabinet, fluff pillows and that" bonnie sighed out of breath "is only for indoors today and there is like 5 or 6 studies alone in this house as well as at least six master bedrooms not including the guest wing!" she moaned getting frustrated by the thought of the work load alone.

"Yeah I know I've worked here for 5 years already" Arabelle shrugged, the witch was lucky he must like her to only give her that amount to be covered in a day.

"Oh crap"Bonnie inwardly kicked herself "of course I am so sorry, I'm a terrible person you must work your finger to the bone every day how do you even have the energy to laugh" Bonnie smiled at the girl who had been so supportive since Bonnie had first arrived.

"Nah its ok you learn how to cut corners with certain tasks and think yourself lucky to still be alive in a house full of vampires" Arabelle told Bonnie in return.

Bonnie nodded understanding "Well this old house isn't going to vacuum, mop, dust, polish and tidy itself I better get going" she got up from the staircase she had been scrubbing. "that reminds me Where were you earlier you shot off" Bonnie asked in curiosity.

"Just doing some early morning chores believe me you don't want to know, why do you think there was nothing about the bathroom on that list of yours" Arabelle laughed rolling her eyes "I'll let you get on with the cleaning, I think Finn is wanting fed" she said rolling up her sleeve.

Bonnie shuddered reminding herself to never let that happen for any reason as she climbed the now gleaming marble stairs.

They hadn't gone far not really, just to some old beach out of town but it was enough to make Caroline forget all the bad that had happened for a little while or so he thought as he watched the beautiful girl whirl in the sand and run into the waves with a genuine smile firmly placed on her face.

She looked so peaceful and happy in this place away from the supernatural drama that waited for their return in Mystic Falls. She was full of life as he watched her from the small sand dune further inland as she laughed and danced in the wind, gorgeous, she was flawless and in this moment she was free.

Later that day at the Mikealson Mansion

Bonnie was exhausted as she dragged her heals to the final study, she hadn't even made a start on any of the bedrooms yet but at least after this there would be one less category to deal with for the rest of the day.

This particular study was very grand with great oak double doors leading into a large room that was surrounded in towering bookshelves that stood proudly like soldier's protecting the essence of serenity in the quiet room.

Bonnie walked around investigating the desk in the centre of the room. There was a small pouch of cindered sage that not so long ago had been burning; a few days perhaps maybe even a week Bonnie guessed from its markings. She recognized the spell, sage was used to mask conversations like another form of a silencing spell.

But why would Esther be placing a silencing spell the study if the originals were to be one big happy family again?

Investigating further she realized that the bookshelves in fact did not hold books at all but grimoires. Stacks upon stacks of spell books; old by the looks of their covers holding all forms of powerful magic. Some she recognized to be particularly dark.

Bonnie thought to read one when Kol whooshed right in front of her causing her to fall backwards against the desk.

"What are you doing in here?" he spat the words at her furiously, brown eyes bearing into hers with his hands gripping to her sides.

"Cleaning remember" Bonnie snapped back holding the list in front of his face trying to block the glare that was sending chills down her spine.

"Not in here" he said through gritted teeth "I never said to come here now listen to me you are not to return here I forbid it, do you understand me little witch?" he asked his hands gripping tighter to her hips, his face mere millimetres from hers.

"Yes" she breathed wincing in pain

His eyes searched hers before he released his vice like grip, yet his face remained so close to hers he could feel every breath she took.

"Good" he stated raising a hand to pull away a stray hair from her face.

She flinched at his sudden movement and froze as he tucked the hair behind her ear, they're eyes never leaving each others as if challenging one another to look away first. With a flash Kol was gone and Bonnie released a breath she wasn't aware she had been holding and ran from the study to her bedroom where she lay on her bed knees tucked up to her chest, her hand tracing where Kol had tucked her stray piece of unruly hair.

AN: So a little Kennett to keep us going but like I've said before I want their love to be real not overnight.
