Chapter 9: Spider in the Web
AN: Hey everyone its me again, So I lied this chapter will feature some smaller scenes that are important to the story though and is set in the same day as the previous chapter. Also some people might find the whole spider thing really boring but it is CRUCIAL to the storyline. Trust me.
Spoiler Alert- This should give an insight into how everyone is really feeling.
Enjoy :D

The landscape had shifted and moulded from the views Mystic falls to that of open road where only their SUV drove hard and fast into the tarmac, as though Klaus could drive them off the face of the earth and into their own secluded bubble of space and time.
Not a chance with Tyler a million miles away on some forsaken mountain trying to "fix" what the sire bond to Klaus had made of him. It was for the best but Caroline missed him.
"About what happened this morning" Caroline started not knowing how to or what it was exactly she was clearing up between them.
"Like I said Love, you never have to explain yourself to me" he smirked keeping his eyes on the road "besides it was your dull boyfriend that left you all alone in that boring town in the arms of the big bad hybrid" Klaus trailed off a playfully innocent tone disguising his true meaning.
But Caroline was no fool and picked up on his intended meanings and misguided comments immediately.
"Look, I didn't tell him it was you who bought me because Tyler is trying to "fix" what you done to him and he has to focus on that so he can come home faster instead of worrying about me" she told him throwing her arms around to emphasize her point which Klaus actually found adorable as she grew more and more frustrated.
"They say you shouldn't fix what isn't broken you know" he laughed at her anger.
"But Tyler is broken, you broke him" she said barely audible setting a cold frost like atmosphere between the two.
He turned on the radio to drown out the loud silence that hung heavy in the air like calm before the storm.
"And for the record I'm at this point in no hybrids arms" Caroline huffed leaning on her window and throwing on a pair of shades she found in the glove box.
Klaus laughed heavily at her comment. "For now sweetheart, you aren't in any hybrids arms yet dear Caroline".
"I meant Tyler of course" she added hastily, rolling her eyes at his arrogance.
"of course" Klaus smiled turning the radio up again happy with how the day was turning out.

Dear Diary,
Damon says that even though I was made pauper, I should be treated like a princess.

Mystic Falls
Bonnie had decided not to go back to the Study, for the remainder of today anyway, not because she was afraid of Kol but because she was avoiding him altogether. Somehow she didn't feel he would take kindly to her little power demo she had performed on him and so was remaining in places that he would normally avoid, for example the garden.
On a gorgeous summer day like this the plants not only looked more alive they felt more alive as though nature itself was aware of the magic it held on to so well, managing a fair and equal balance to every creature. Minus the supernatural.
Bonnie crouched near a small derelict garden statue, aged moss covering the once elaborate statue of a magnificent stone fountain. In the corner a beautiful elaborated web hung proudly from one layer to another and in the centre a large garden spider, still and proud. Beautiful in a way yet so deadly. Bonnie was reminded of someone by the spider although she couldn't think who as she watched the misunderstood creature sitting perfectly still enjoying the sunshine like everyone else.
A breeze appeared from no where shaking the web violently until the spider fell in to a tiny collected amount of water at the base of the fountain bowl and began to squirm as it drowned.
Bonnie flapped around trying to find a stick or stone or anything that would possibly help the tiny creature.
"you can not help it" said an old voice from behind her causing Bonnie to jump slightly.
She whirled around to confront the man "Perhaps, but who am I to judge that if I don't even try" she smiled finding a small leaf walking over to help the spider.
"Finn Mikaelson" he smiled
"Bonnie Bennett" she returned his easy smile holding up the spider now in her hand and setting it free on the grass below her.
"You are meddling in the laws of nature, that beast was supposed to die, I suggest you do not make a habit of such behaviour it could have ….negative consequences Miss Bennett" his smiled turned dark and Bonnie felt a shiver run down her spine at his cold words.
"Maybe" she shrugged her shoulders "but who am I to judge who lives or dies and what makes its life of any less value than mine?" she questioned with a blank face.
"She's a clever one isn't she Finn?" Kol appeared from no where leaning leisurely against the garden door frame.
Finn nodded before excusing himself promptly after Kol's arrival.
"Ignore him he is even less fun than Elijah would you believe" Kol laughed at his own joke smiling warmly at the young witch.
She fixed the skirt of her dress, "Thanks but I think I'll just go back to ignoring you" she smiled at him coldly before storming past him making sure to bump shoulders as she went.
Kol stood there bemused, the more time he spent with her the more he was beginning to like this girl.

They had been driving for hours and hour and in fact Caroline was sure it was nearly evening and still they were no where near any place Caroline could see or recognise.
"Klaus, Where the hell are we going?" she pleaded
"We are very close now love don't worry, although we will have to stay out tonight by the looks of it" he stated as if it were the most casual thing in the world.
"Great, that is exactly what I need right now just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse as well" her voice dripping with sarcasm as they pulled into a field just before sunset.
"What are we doing?" she asked suddenly intrigued by the hundreds of cars that appeared all of sudden from an adjacent main road, parked in all places over this giant hill.
"Well there is a meteor shower tonight and I figured all Princesses should get at least one wish and what better way to get one than from a shooting star" he whooshed around to open her door.
"Oh" was all she could manage touched deeply by his gesture.
"You are most welcome, now I think the best view will come if we sit on the car" he smiled as they both lay down on the bonnet to watch the sundown with the many other spectators.
It was a rare human moment, the kind of thing Caroline would have all but dragged Tyler to attend with her. Yet here she was at one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises ever with Klaus of all people.
She looked over at him smiling as he caught a glimpse of her staring from the corner of his eye.
"What?" he questioned confused all of a sudden causing his face to crinkle.
"You shocked me tonight" she whispered continuing with her gaze.
"In a good way?" he asked turning to face her
"In a good way" she nodded turning away to face the sky again
