-Chapter 3: An Icy Duel-

Note before we begin: In the last chapter it said this would be where Danny vs Ryuzaki, but that will be in a future chapter(to make book longer) Please enjoy.

...In the last chapter Danny was up against a football player. Each determined to win, but Danny won. The story continues...

Danny had finished 2 more duels after the one with Zouta. Nightfall was now coming. "Sure is getting late." Danny said. "Yeah," Rose agreed. Danny suddenly stops. "I wonder how John is doing..." Then, a slight breeze hits them, followed by more winds, getting stronger and stronger each time. Rose is puzzled. "What's going on?" Danny pauses, then replies. "I don't know, but lets keep moving." Soon, the wind stops, then it gets chilly. Danny sits on a fallen tree. "This weather today is really something isn't it?" Out of know where, a voice answers. "Yes, it sure is, and I love it!" Out of trees jumps a man in a blue-ice shirt, with jeans that also look like ice. His hair went down to his neck and was smooth, white colored. He also had white gloves-on. "So, what more can you ask of?" The man says. "My name is Zero." Danny and Rose stare at each other, then back at Zero. "Alright so..." Danny then spots a survival necklace around his neck(what you wear to show you are in the tournament). He chuckles. "I guess you're a duelist?"

Zero gives a smile. "Yeah, the best from where I am. And I'm guessing you are a duelist as well. So, how bout a lil' duel." Danny smiles back. "Challenge accepted." Zero holds his hand out to the side, and an ice-berg shaped duel disk appears on his arm. "DUEL!"

"I'm going to start this thing off!" Danny yells. "I draw! Say hello to a new friend of mine, I summon Ancient Dragon to the field!"

*1400 atk/Lvl 4*

"Now I place 3 face-downs and end!" Zero draws from his deck. "I hope you are ready kid, cause I'm about to give you Frostbite! To start things off I use the spell Cold Wave! Now until my next turn, nobody can play or set any spells or traps!" Danny's face down cards get covered in ice. "Next a summon Growing Flake in attack mode!"

*100 atk/Lvl 1*

Danny starts to wonder. "Ummm..." he starts. "What is that suppose to do?" Zero swings his arm to the side. "Oh you will see. I use the monster Stopper's effect from my hand! I am now allowed to activate spell cards no matter what, until the end of the turn. Now I activate Double Summon, which allows me to summon an additional monster this turn. I sacrifice Growing Flake to summon Frostosaurus!" A giant dinosaur made of ice comes from out of the ground and unleashes a cold roar.

*2600 atk/Lvl 6*

"If you think I'm finished then your wrong! My Growing Flake's special Ability activates, when tributed for a water attribute monster, it gets summoned back as a level 4 and counts as 2 over-lay units. I then overlay both Growing Flakes to Xyz summon Sub-Zero!" A wave comes from out of the trees, then crashes down onto the playing field. out of it a submarine, crystal-like floating in mid air.

*2200 atk/Rank 4*

With a frightened look, Danny thinks to himself Not now...

-Meanwhile-

"Gah..." Scorch stumbled across some dirt and rocks that were beneath his feet. "How hard is it to find a teenager. These forests seem like they never end!" Suddenly, a gust of wind came from out of nowhere, pushing him back. In front of him...a humongous tree. Scorch walked around a few times, and soon noticed what looked like a door in-carved into the tree itself. With little force and effort, he put his hand onto the "door." It opened, making small noises in-between. "Ello?" Scorch asked. His voiced echoed throughout the hallow tree. No reply. "Anyone here?" He asked once more. He waited...then he heard a voice. "Howdy!" A baggy old man jumped from a place above Scorch, and landed right in front of him. "Looks like you could use a diet my friend!" The old man poked Scorch's belly. "What in the world is wrong with you?" Scorch was getting creped out. "Nothing, I have just gone a lil' crazy being in dis here ol tree..alone." The man sat down in a chair that was behind him. "My name is Billy Rashman! Nice to meet ya!" Scorch just looked and stared. "Listen, I dont have time for this,im on a mission. Im out of here." Scorch turned, ready to leave until the old man grabbed him. "I think you need to slow down...and go with the flow my young lad. I shall teach you the ways of well...BIILY!"

"Get off my back old man. What are you talking about?"

"Well, ye are a duelist right?"

"Ummm...yeah..."

"Then I shall train you!"

"What, I don't need your help, I'm the best duelist out there!"

"That is what ye think..." Scorch stopped.

-Now back to the duel-

"Time for Sub-Zero's special ability! By using an overlay unit, this big-guy takes away 500 attack points from your monster!" The sub fires a ray of ice directly toward Ancient Dragon. The dragon shivers as it loses its attack points. "I think im getting the chills..." Rose said. She was starting to get worried. "Now sub-zero! Attack ancient Dragon!" The submarine fires a torpedo made of ice, and it's target is Ancient Dragon! The missile hits Ancient Dragon hard, making an explosion which pushes Danny back.

Danny: 2700 lp

Zero: 4000 lp

"It's your turn Frostosaurus! Attack Danny directly!" A cold ray of ice comes shooting from the dinosaurs mouth. The bema hits Danny and sends him flying backwards until he hits the ground. "Ughhh..." He moaned.

Danny: 100 lp

Zero: 4000 lp

"I think you have had enough for now, so I'll end my turn." Danny got up, still willing to fight. "It's my draw!" He gets a glimpse of the card he drew. "What the? This card was never in my deck, but I guess now is the time to use it. I activate Lightning Vortex!" Danny discarded a card from his hand and sent it to the grave. Then, from out of the sky, a vortex formed, and quickly a bolt of lightning appeared from the cloud, striking Zero's monsters. Zero was "shocked." He just stood there. "N-no way!" Danny laughed. This was fun and all, but look like I win. I play monster reborn to summon back my Alexandrite Dragon!" The monster is reincarnated back onto the field. " Now for Megamorph!" Alexandrite grows double the size. "Atack Zero directly!" The dragon lets out a ferocious blast of energy, hitting Zero, but he manages to keep balance.

Danny: 0 lp

Zero: 0 lp
