Title: Taming the Beast
Chapter: 4
Rating: M
Summary: Thor didn't come alone to bring Loki back. Kagome/Banner rated M for heavy petting
AN: Ok, I know it's been almost a year since my last update. I apologize to everyone who's been waiting. Also, rereading this, it bugs the crap out of me that Kagome is using Japanese, although she's been brought up on Asgard. I'm not going into it, but let's all agree that she learned about her heritage through her education growing up in Asgard and keeps her mannerisms to honor that heritage. I will try to be more mindful of plot holes.
Taming the Beast
Chapter 4
Loki POV
"…you mewling quim!"
"Loki!" I heard the outraged voice of my baby sister and closed my eyes in frustration. I've betrayed many to get where I am now. I've hurt a great many people and made deals with horrible creatures. All that, and yet I couldn't help the shame at having my sister witness my cruel words.
"What are you doing?! I almost had him!" I let out a small snarl at the way the stupid human was talking to my sister. One look to Thor and it appears he didn't care for her tone, either.
"You will hold you tongue, woman!" I growled at her. "You will speak to the Asgardian princess with respect or that monster you brought will be the least of your worries!"
The woman stopped with her hand an inch away from the door handle. "So," she brought her head up and around to face me, "Banner, then." She turns completely to me, now, composed as though she wasn't upset a second ago. She gives a little condescending bow. "Thank you, for your cooperation." One look to Kagome shows her fury.
"Hey! You can't treat my brother like that!" The woman gives Kagome a look one would give a toddler and walks out of the room. I can hear Kagome grumbling under her breath and a small smile appears on my face.
"Loki," Kagome said softly. It's been too long since I have seen her and it pains me that this was the situation that we are in. "Look at me, aniki, please." Never being one to deny her anything, I raise my head to look at her dewy eyes.
"Why have you come?" I ask. "You should be home with your father." She flinched at my words, but I can't take them back now. My anger at my so called "father" was the driving force behind my scheme but it pains me to be cruel to her.
"I've come with Thor-nii to bring you home. You belong on Asgard with your family. With me." She's looking down as she talks. I sigh. She's learned entirely too much from me.
"Kagome, you can drop the act now. You know that only works on Thor and Odin."
"You mean Father," she says. She looks up to me, all traces of tears gone, but still a look of sadness in her eyes. "He is your father as much as mine." I open my mouth, a bitter remark on my tongue, but she stops me. "I know, I know. 'He is your father, not mine. I am son of Laufey and not of Odin.'" She is using her high, annoying voice and Thor coughs to hide a laugh. "Aniki, we've gone through this, many times. You are my brother. It matters not, your parentage. Your home is Asgard."
Suddenly, a loud explosion went off somewhere on the ship, knocking the three of us down. I must have lost track of time, but it seems the archer is ready to go. Kagome looks up startled and confused and a pang of regret goes through me, quickly followed by more anger at my idiot brother for bringing her here. Kagome has never known war or destruction. She's always lived a sheltered, protected life in Asgard.
"Get her out of here, Thor," I call to him. Kagome had been frozen until I called out and now she is turned to me, calling my name as Thor has an arm around her waist to drag her to safety.
I wait in my glass cage until I am let out.
Now to find a way to get Kagome safely back on Asgard.
