I do not own The Mortal Instruments or The Hunger Games.

Walking out of the train I couldn't help but wonder who my competition was. There would always be the giant eighteen year olds from the career institutes. The career institutes were known for focusing more on training kids for the games than actually teaching them to hunt demons.

There are five career institutes. The Melbourne institute from Australia, the New York institute from the United States, the Moscow institute from Russia, the Tokyo institute from Japan, and the Cluj institute from Romania.

I looked around and was almost instantly able to spot them, ten large boys and girls layered in muscles were all chatting and laughing like they were all life long friends. However I could tell that they all would kill each other with no remorse whatsoever.

I walked towards my chariot and stepped in getting ready for the ceremony. The London institute was always the first to leave. Within five minutes I had located Skylar, she started walking towards the chariot and I had to admit she looked beautiful. Her dress looked very similar to my suit, the same silver color and the glowing red marks that surrounded the dress was not a bad touch.

"Well you are looking nice." I say once she is within earshot of me. I flash her a crooked smile and she grinned back at me.

"Thank you," she said slightly blushing from the unexpected comment. "and I must admit you don't look that horrible yourself."

I chuckled lightly then held out my hand to help her step into the chariot. We exchanged small unimportant conversation that honestly was just to pass the time when the bell rang signalling that the chariots would be leaving.

I looked over at Skylar and said, "Well, this should be fun." With that the doors opened and our chariot walked out of the room.

The cheers of the spectators hit me like a wall of sound. Thousands upon thousands of Shadowhunters and Downworlders all cheering and screaming. I was flashing smiles in every direction and waving to no one in particular. i honestly really enjoyed it. Skylar was looking nervous and suddenly without even realizing it I entwined my hand into hers. A look of shock spread over her face for an instant but was quickly replaced by an amazing smile. The cheering seemed to have increased greatly towards us after we started holding hands.

The chariots continued to ride down the streets until we entered another building and we stopped abruptly. Joshua, Janet, Dianae and Skylars stylist Torin were all waiting for us once we got back, the large smiles on there faces showed that they were pleased with us. They kept talking on and on about the ceremony as if we were not even part of it. It wasn't until later that I realized that Skylar and I were still holding hands and I felt for the first time in a while, truly happy.
