Chapter one: With A Smile And A Song

Calliope sat in the office of Principal's office, as she did almost every Monday morning. She sat talking to the older lady about things that were happening in the school.

"So they're cutting glee club?" Calliope asked the Principal. Principal Ferry, who is quite possibly the nicest woman on the planet. The grey haired woman sighed, stood up and waddled round to the other side of the table, leaning against the edge of the table.

"Sadly, yes. Since Mrs Potts left and went to that private school all the way across town, we have no one to run the club, so we need to cut it from our budget," Principal Ferry sighed.

"I'll run it! You know I love music, and nobody at this school loves these kids as much as I do. So why not let me run it?" Calliope said, bouncing out of her seat and smiling at the shorter woman.

"Do you think you have what it takes, Calli?" Principal Ferry asked, taking off her tiny glasses and cleaning them on her little pink scarf that she wore around her neck.

"Bring it on!" Calliope smiled. She knew that it wasn't going to be easy. But as long as she worked her butt off, The Kingdom Hearts, would not fail. She just needed to get some kids to sign up. Calliope was beaming and smiling from ear to ear as she left Principal Ferry's office. She saw the slim blonde girl from one of her English classes walking down the hall by herself.

"Morning Ella," Calliope said, smiling at the slim girl.

"Morning Ms. Sheppard"

"Ella, I've told you before. Call me Calliope. Ms Sheppard is my mom." Calli smiled.

"What are you so happy about?"

"Well, I've just been given the amazing job of running 'The Kingdom Hearts', since Mrs Potts has went to that school across town."

"Kingdom Hearts? As in the Glee club?" Ella beamed.

"The very same. Interested in auditioning?"

"Definitely. I need some extracurricular activities."

"Well, I'll sign you up for the auditions. They'll be on Friday after school." Calliope said, rounding the corner and walking down the hall with a spring in her step. If only Charlie would sign up too. That would be the perfect way for him to notice me. Ella went to her locker to get the textbook for her world history class. She closed her locker and turned around and bumped straight into Charlie, knocking her on her ass.

"Woah, you okay?" Charlie asked, holding his hand out and helping the blonde girl up. When their hands touched, Ella felt sparks.

"Um…yeah?" Ella said, not sure what to say to the guy she had been into for years.

"Are you new here?" Charlie asked with a smile, "I haven't seen you around before."

"No, I've been…around."

"Char, come on!" David yelled from down the hall. David Prince was handsome. He was tall, and lean, and you could tell he worked out, but Charlie. In Ella's mind, he had the arms of a Greek God, and eyes that could melt the coldest of hearts. In her eyes, he was beyond perfect.

"I'll see you around." Charlie smiled, and Ella felt like her heart was going to beat through her chest. "I'm Charlie, by the way." With that, the tall brunette boy ran down the hall to catch his twin brother.

"I'm Ella." She said pathetically. "Smooth Ella! Really smooth!"

"Talking to yourself Klutz?" She heard someone say. She turned around and saw the co-head cheerleader, Vanessa Urchin. "He'll never be into you. Face it, you'll never be the belle of the ball. You'll always be the one left sitting in the pumpkin patch talking to the mice." Vanessa began to cackle and skipped down the hall, her dark chocolate brown hair swinging from side to side.

"Morning Ella," Calliope said, smiling at the slim girl.

"Morning Ms. Sheppard"

"Ella, I've told you before. Call me Calliope. Ms Sheppard is my mom." Calli smiled.

"What are you so happy about?"

GOD HELP THE OUTCAST

The next day, a short brunette girl walked down the hall, her head buried in a book. She looked up and saw a sheet hanging from the notice board.

"Kids of Walt Disney High, Auditions for our prestigious show choir 'The Kingdom Hearts'

Friday, in the Auditorium, at 3pm,

All Welcome to Audition."

Ella Glass

"You thinking of auditioning?" A voice came from behind the girl. She spun around and pushed up her glasses.

"I…um…I was thinking about it." The brunette girl said, looking at the black haired girl with a red ribbon in her hair.

"I want to too, but I don't know about it." The girl said.

"I know you from somewhere. You're in my Geometry class aren't you?" the brunette asked.

"Yeah, I'm Sadie. But call me Snow. Everyone does."

"I'm Belle Rose." Belle smiled shyly. "I've gotta go."

"See you in Geometry." Snow yelled behind the girl.

"Snow?" A boys voice called to the short pale girl. She spun around and saw her long time best friend, Eric Tyler. "Are you coming to lunch?"

"Yeah, I'll be like one minute." She said, lifting the pencil that was attached to the sign-up sheet. She wrote Belle's name on the fourth line of the sheet, before hanging the pencil back up.

"What was that about?" Eric asked, smiling at the raven haired girl.

"I was just signing a girl from my Geometry glass for the show choir thing."

"Cool." Eric opened his locker, and realised that his book he needed for his next class was in his previous class. "Crap, Snow, I got to run back to Mr Hook's class and grab my book." Eric said, slamming his locker shut. "Meet me in the cafeteria?"

"Sure." Snow said, smiling. With that, Eric ran down the hall and out of sight. Snow walked down the hall and passed the music room, where she heard two kids-one of the girls in her year and her little cousin- singing in the music room. Snow couldn't help but stop and listen to them.

Crush by David Archuleta

Performed by Ariel Shubert and Fletcher Fishman

Fletcher

I hung up the phone tonight

Something happened for the first time

Deep inside it was a rush

What a rush

Ariel

'Cause the possibility

That you would ever feel the same way about me

It's just too much

Just too much

Both

Why do I keep running from the truth?

All I ever think about is you

You got me hypnotized

So mesmerized

And I've just got to know

Both

Do you ever think

When you're all alone

All that we could be?

Where this thing could go?

Am I crazy or falling in love?

Is it real or just another crush?

Do you catch a breath

When I look at you?

Are you holding back

Like the way you do?

'Cause I'm trying, trying to walk away

But I know this crush ain't going away

Going away

Ariel(Fletcher)

Has it ever crossed your mind

When we're hanging,

Spending time, boy, are we just friends?

Is there more? Is there more? (Is there more)

Fletcher

See it's a chance we've gotta take

'Cause I believe that we can make

This into something that'll last

Last forever, forever

Both

When you're all alone

All that we could be?

Where this thing could go?

Am I crazy or falling in love?

Is it real or just another crush?

"Woah! That was really good!" Snow said, making the two teens turned around and saw her standing smiling at them, her red bow tied in her hair, and her lips as ruby like as always. "Are you two like, a couple?"

"NOOOO!" Ariel said, over-dramatically. "He's my cousin. And he's also Gay!"

"Bi!" Fletcher argued and got a look of 'who you trying to kid?' from Ariel.

"Oh, sorry. But you guys have amazing musical chemistry together. If you weren't singing that song for each other, then who were you singing it for?"

"I was singing it for the guy I like, and I have no idea who Fletch was singing it for." Ariel said, lifting her book bag and slinging it over her shoulder. Sadie and Ariel gave Fletcher a look, trying to make him tell them who he liked, but Fletcher wasn't spilling. They walked out into the hall together, all three of them.

"Well, it was lovely speaking with you guys, but I need to meet my friend Eric over on the other side of the building."

"Wait, you know Eric?" Ariel asked.

"Yeah. I've known Ric forever." Sadie said, smiling brightly. "Well, I'll be seeing you."

"She's not dating Eric, you know that right?" Fletcher said, putting his arm around Ariel's shoulder.

"I know. I'm not jealous." Fletcher smirked at her. "Okay, well maybe a little. But nothing will ever happen between Eric and I. He doesn't even know I exist. Now back to you! Who were you singing that song for?"

"No one in particular." Fletcher said coyly. When Ariel turned away, Fletcher looked down the hall and saw the object of his affection, Peter Prescott who was standing there, with his slightly insane sidekick, Teresa Bell. The dark haired boy looked up and saw Fletcher and smiled at him. Waving at the blonde, Peter went back to talking to his friend, leaving Fletcher to wonder if he'll get his happy ending either.

"Fletch, you are a terrible liar. But don't worry, I won't pry. You will tell me eventually." Ariel smiled at her little cousin. Fletcher laughed nervously, running his hand through his thick blonde hair. Ariel knew him better than anyone else on the planet, and it was a wonder that she hadn't figured out that he liked Peter. They had been partners in Chemistry like six months ago, and Fletcher became besotted with the dark haired boy, and Ariel could usually tell if Fletcher liked someone.

The pair walked down the hall, making idle chit chat about singing. Fletcher noticed the signup sheet on the notice board. He smiled at Ariel.

"Ariel, if you want to sing and build up the confidence to sing in front of Eric, then why don't we sign-up for the Kingdom Hearts?"

"The…What do you call it again?" Ariel asked, "Show choir?"

"Yeah, the show choir. We should totally join." Fletcher smiled. "Look what that girl just said, we have 'great musical chemistry'"

"Yeah, but…"

"No buts, we're signing up!" Fletcher said, signing Ariel's name and his own under it. "The auditions are on Friday after school."

"Fletcher. The Party?"

"The Party isn't until 7, the auditions are at 3. That gives you plenty time to do both."

"Urgh! Fine…" Ariel groaned, looking at the sign-up sheet.

GOD HELP THE OUTCAST

"Okay guys, thank you very much for signing up to audition. We've got a few of you to get through. So why don't we just start?" Calliope said, looking into the crowd of eight kids.

"Okay, who is up first?" Calliope asked. The first person stood up. Ella Glass. She picked up her acoustic guitar and headed onto the stage.

"Hi, I'm Ella and I will be singing The A Team by Ed Sheeran."

The A Team by Ed Sheeran

Performed by Ella Glass

White lips, pale face

Breathing in snowflakes

Burnt lungs, sour taste

Light's gone, day's end

Struggling to pay rent

Long nights, strange men

And they say

She's in the Class A Team

Stuck in her daydream

Been this way since eighteen

But lately her face seems

Slowly sinking, wasting

Crumbling like pastries

And they scream

The worst things in life come free to us

Cause we're just under the upper hand

And go mad for a couple grams

And she don't want to go outside tonight

And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland

Or sells love to another man

It's too cold outside

For angels to fly

An angel will die

Covered in white

Closed eye

And hoping for a better life

This time, we'll fade out tonight

Straight down the line

And they say

She's in the Class A Team

Stuck in her daydream

Been this way since eighteen

But lately her face seems

Slowly sinking, wasting

Crumbling like pastries

They scream

The worst things in life come free to us

And we're all under the upper hand

Go mad for a couple grams

And we don't want to go outside tonight

And in a pipe we fly to the Motherland

Or sell love to another man

It's too cold outside

For angels to fly

Angels to fly

To fly, fly

For angels to fly, to fly, to fly

For angels to die

"Well done Ella, that was great. See you on Monday afterschool for the first meeting." Calliope said smiling. Ella left the stage, and Calliope stood up. "Okay, so who is next?" With that Ariel stood and headed to the stage.

"My name is Ariel Shubert and I will be singing Glitter In The Air by Pink."

Glitter In The Air by Pink

Performed by Ariel Shubert

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?

Closed your eyes and trust it, just trust it?

Have you ever thrown a fistful of glitter in the air?

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, "I just don't care."?

It's only half past the point of no return

The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn

The thunder before the lightning and the breath before the phrase

Have you ever felt this way?

La La La La La La La La

There you are,

Sitting in the garden,

Clutching my coffee,

Calling me sugar

You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?

Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight?

Have you ever held your breath and asked yourself will it ever get better than tonight?

Tonight

"You're definitely in Ariel. See you Monday?"

"Definitely Calli," Ariel said, beaming.

"Fletcher, do you wanna go next?" Calli asked, and Fletcher nodded and stood up and walked to the stage.

"I'm Fletcher Fishman, and I'll be singing It's Not Over by Chris Daughtry"

It's Not Over by Chris Daughtry

Performed by Fletcher Fishman

I was blown away.

What could I say?

It all seemed to make sense.

You've taken away everything,

And I can't deal with that.

I try to see the good in life,

But good things in life are hard to find.

We'll blow it away, blow it away.

Can we make this something good?

Well, I'll try to do it right this time around.

Let's start over.

I'll try to do it right this time around.

It's not over.

'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground.

This love is killing me,

But you're the only one.

It's not over.

We can't let this get away.

Let it out, let it out.

Don't get caught up in yourself.

Let it out.

Let's start over.

I'll try to do it right this time around.

It's not over.

'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground.

This love is killing me,

But you're the only one.

It's not over.

Let's start over.

It's not over, yeah...

This love is killing me,

But you're the only one.

It's not over.

"You're in too, Fletcher. Belle, do you wanna go next?" Belle nodded nervously. She had been so embarrassed when Snow signed her up, but she then thought that it was maybe a great opportunity for her. She stood up and walked to the stage.

"I am Belle Rose, and I will be auditioning with the Billy Joel classic song, made famous by one Miss Barbara Streisand."

New York State Of Mind by Billy Joel(Barbara Streisand version)

Performed by Belle Rose

Some folks like to get away

For a holiday from the neighborhood

Hop a flight to Miami Beach

Or to Hollywood, ooh ooh

But I'm taking a Greyhound

On the Hudson River Line

I'm in a New York state of mind

Ooh, It was so easy living day by day

Out of touch with the rhythm and the blues

But now I need a little give and take

The New York Times, The Daily News

Oh, It comes down to reality

And it's fine with me

'cause I've let it slide

Don't care if it's Chinatown or on Riverside, ooh ooh

I don't have any reasons

I've left them all behind

I'm in a New York state of Mind!

Oh! I'm just taking a Greyhound

On the Hudson River Line

'Cause I'm in

I'm in a New York state of Mind

In a New York State Of mind

"How was that Miss Sheppard?" Belle asked nervously.

"That was beautiful Belle. And please, call me Calli when you come to practice on Monday" Calliope smiled brightly. "Mr Prince, would you please take to the stage?" David Prince turned and smiled at the teacher. He had tried to convince his twin brother to sign up too, but the shorter boy refused. He didn't like singing as much as David did. David had a good voice, he knew he did, but Charlie was much better, but just didn't like to sing.

"Okay, so I'm David Prince and I'm gonna audition with The Other Side by Jason Derulo"

The Other Side by Jason Derulo

Performed by David Prince

In the beginning

I never thought it would be you

When we were chilling

Smiling in the photo booth

But we got closer

Soon you were eating off my spoon

You're coming over

And we would talk all afternoon

Tonight we'll just get drunk

Disturb the peace

Find your hands all over me

And then you bite your lip

Whisper and say, "We're going all the way."

Tonight

Take me to the other side

Sparks fly like the Fourth of July

Just take me to the other side

I see that sexy look in your eyes

And I know we ain't friends anymore

If we walk down this road

We'll be lovers for sure

So tonight kiss me like it's do or die

And take me to the other side

Tonight we'll just get drunk

Disturb the peace

Let your love crash into me

And then you bite your lip

Whisper and say, "We're going all the way."

Tonight

Take me to the other side

Sparks fly like the Fourth of July

Just take me to the other side

I see that sexy look in your eyes

And I know we ain't friends anymore

If we walk down this road

We'll be lovers for sure

So tonight kiss me like it's do or die

And take me to the other side

"See you on Monday, David. You're in" Calliope said as David left the stage, smiling at himself. In the audience, Snow was blushing slightly, realizing that she was developing a small crush on the taller teen.

"Okay, so we have three more of y'all to sing. Who wants to go first? Tessa, Peter or Sadie?"

"I will if that's okay Calliope?" Snow said, smiling at the teacher.

"Of course," Calli said, gesturing towards the stage.

"Well my name is Sadie White, but everyone calls me Snow, and I will be singing Born To Try by Delta Goodrem"

Born To Try by Delta Goodrem

Performed by Sadie White

Doing everything that I believe in

Going by the rules that I've been taught

More understanding of what's around me

And protected from the walls of love

All that you see is me

And all I truly believe

That I was born to try

I've learned to love

Be understanding

And believe in life

But you've got to make choices

Be wrong or right

Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

All that you see is me

All I truly believe

All that you see is me

And all I truly believe

That I was born to try

I've learned to love

Be understanding

And believe in life

But you've got to make choices

Be wrong or right

Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

But you've got to make choices

Be wrong or right

Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like

But I was born to try

"Well no need to try any more, kid, you're in" Calli joked, then cringed at herself. "See you Monday." With that Sadie left the stage, and Peter stood up.

"May I go next Calliope?" Peter asked, smiling at the teacher.

"Sure, Peter, you can go"

"Well, I'm Peter Prescott and today I will be singing Fireflies by Owl City."

Fireflies by Owl City

Performed by Peter Prescott

You would not believe your eyes

If ten million fireflies

Lit up the world as I fell asleep

'Cause they'd fill the open air

And leave tear drops everywhere

You'd think me rude

But I would just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe

That planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

'Cause everything is never as it seems

When I fall asleep

Leave my door open just a crack

Please take me away from here

'Cause I feel like such an insomniac

Please take me away from here

Why do I tire of counting sheep?

Please take me away from here

When I'm far too tired to fall asleep

To ten million fireflies

I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes

I got misty eyes as they said farewell

But I'll know where several are

If my dreams get real bizarre

'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar

I'd like to make myself believe

That planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

'Cause everything is never as it seems

When I fall asleep

I'd like to make myself believe

That planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

'Cause everything is never as it seems

When I fall asleep

I'd like to make myself believe

That planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

Because my dreams are bursting at the seams

"You're in Peter. And great song choice, very unconventional." Calliope smiled. "Tessa, you're up sweetie."

Tessa stood and walked slowly to the stage, smiling when she passed Peter. "Hi, I'm Tessa Bell and I'm going to be singing Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine"

Cosmic Love by Florence and The Machine

Performed by Teresa Bell

A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes

I screamed aloud, as it tore through them, and now it's left me blind

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out

You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight

In the shadow of your heart

And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat

I tried to find the sound

But then it stopped, and I was in the darkness,

So darkness I became

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out

You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight

In the shadow of your heart

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map

And knew that somehow I could find my way back

Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too

So I stayed in the darkness with you

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out

You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight

In the shadow of your heart

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out

You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight

In the shadow of your heart

"Beautiful Teresa. See you on Monday?"

"Definitely!" Tessa smiled and ran to catch Peter.

"So, Now I got to prepare a lesson plan!" Calliope said to herself as she made her way out of the auditorium.

GOD HELP THE OUTCAST

"Okay children, this party is not an excuse for you all to get drunk or high. I want you to have fun, but if I catch any of you drinking or doing anything you should not be doing, I will have you expelled faster than you can say marijuana!" Ms Diablo said into the microphone that was set up in the auditorium for the band to play. When the woman turned her back, the music began blaring and everyone actually started enjoying themselves.

"Yo, Chesh, you got my package?" Flynn Ryder said, coming up to Felix.

"Dude, do you gotta be so loud bout it?" Felix asked, smiling widely.

"This better be good stuff dude, if it isn't, I'll be back!" Flynn said, handing money to Felix and grabbing the little baggy full of weed that Felix.

"Felix, are you actually selling in the middle of the party?" Taylor asked, walking over to his best friend.

"I gotta make some cash bro. It's not like I'm doing it myself!" Felix grinned.

"Dude, you're totally high right now!" Taylor smirked.

"Aw, shut up!" Felix said, smile never faltering as he grabbed Taylor's hat off his head.

"You better give that back!"

"You're gonna have to make me!" Felix smirked, running off with the hat.

"FELIX!" Taylor ran after his best friend, apologizing as Felix ran into Anna Arendelle.

"Hey, watch out!" Elsa yelled after them. "Anna, are you okay?"

"Elsa, I'm fine. Felix just bumped into me. No harm done."

"You need to be careful Anna. I don't want you to get hurt."

"Elsa, you've gotta relax and have a little fun sometimes."

"Anna, I don't know why I let you drag me here."

"Because you NEED to have fun Elsie. No point sitting in your room alone every night. Mom and Dad wouldn't want that for you."

"Anna, I'm fine. I'm just going to go home. Get a cab home and I'll give you the money."

"I've got money. Just go Els, I'm going to have a little fun tonight!" Anna said, walking away from her sister.

"Anna, don't just walk away. ANNA!" Elsa yelled before leaving the party. Ariel and Fletcher watched as the two Arendelle girls walked past them.

"The Arendelle's are fighting again." Fletcher laughed, turning to Ariel who was clearly distracted. Fletch followed her line of vision over to where Snow, Aurora Hale and Eric were standing talking "You know you've been staring at him for the last like ten minutes?"

"I'm not staring!" Ariel said, Fletcher rolled his eyes. "Fine, I am. But I've liked this guy for years and he doesn't know I exist."

"Then maybe we should get him to join the glee club then?"

"Fletcher, no!"

"Well, if you won't go talk to him, you're never going to get him."

"Fletcher, come on. Let's just go home." Ariel said, grabbing Fletcher's arm.

"Ariel, wait, we can't just go, the party's just started." Fletcher stopped moving, halting Ariel too.

"And for you two…the party is over!" The pair heard a voice say. They spun around and saw Mr Krabapple standing glaring at them.

"Oh, Hey" Ariel smiled nervously.

"My office…NOW!" The teacher yelled. Ariel and Fletcher looked at each other nervously, and started walking to the office of their coach.

"So why are you joining the glee club?" Aurora asked Snow, while Eric was standing pretending to listen.

"Because I really like singing, and Calliope is a great teacher."

"How would you know? You've never been in her class." Aurora joked.

"Well, she's subbed my English class last semester."

"Eric, are you going to join?" Aurora asked the boy. Eric wasn't paying attention still. "Eric?" Aurora pushed his shoulder, laughing at the boy.

"What? Sorry I was distracted!"

"Yeah, we noticed." Snow laughed.

"What did you ask me?"

"Are you going to join the glee club with Snow?"

"Yeah, that is not going to happen. I don't sing"

"Ric, don't be boring. Just join"

"I don't sing. I can't. I am just horrible at singing!"

"Eric, we've been friends since we were kids, I have heard you sing a million times, and your voice is incredible."

"Well, I think I suck, and I don't want to embarrass myself. Sorry. It ain't gonna happen. Now if you lovely ladies will excuse me, I'm going to go to the restroom" With that Eric took off out of the gym and out into the hallway.

He walked down the hall to the restroom, passing a few random people in the hallway, clearly getting drunk. After he came out of the restroom, he walked down the hall and sat on the bench outside one of the teacher's offices'.

"I TOLD YOU NO PARTY! YOU DISOBEYED MY ORDERS! IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE BIG MEET NEXT WEEK, I WOULD BE KICKING BOTH OF YOUR BUTTS OFF MY TEAM! NOW GET HOME! BOTH OF YOU!" Eric recognised the voice. It was the voice of the swim coach, Sebastian Krabapple. He was known for being very crabby and angry. Whoever he's yelling at, God help them! Eric thought. Eric shook his head and stood up and stretched. As he did the door opened, and out walked two teens. A tall blonde boy and his shorter, red haired cousin. Eric turned to walked back to the gym, when he collided with the red haired girl.

"Oh my God! I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attent-" Ariel apologized, until she realized who she bumped into, then her voice died in her throat.

"No, it's my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going. I better be getting back to the gym, but I'll be seeing you around." Eric said, passing by the red head. "Oh, and I wouldn't listen to Krabapple. He's a pussy cat really."

"." Ariel tried to speak but couldn't. Eric's eyes narrowed and he shook his head laughing. "I'll see you guys Monday." Eric walked off, and Fletcher looked at Ariel, eyes wide.

"Why the hell didn't you-"

"I couldn't speak! I tried, and I couldn't… I'm so lame!"

"Yes. Yes you are, now let's go home." Fletcher said, putting his arm around Ariel's shoulder.

GOD HELP THE OUTCAST

The weekend passed quickly, and school went ridiculously fast that day. It felt like before she even sat at her desk, Calliope was standing in the choir room for the first Glee club meeting.

"Okay, so welcome to the very first Kingdom Hearts meeting. I'm incredibly pleased you all showed up, on time might I add." Callie laughed.

"Calliope?" David Prince said, putting his hand up.

"Yes, David?"

"Well, we were just thinking, we haven't actually heard you sing yet… could we?"

"Oh…Okay? I don't have anything prepared, but I guess I could just through something together on the fly."

The Rose by Bette Midler

Performed by Calliope Sheppard

Some say love, it is a river

That drowns the tender reed.

Some say love, it is a razor

That leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger,

An endless aching need.

I say love, it is a flower,

And you its only seed.

When the night has been too lonely

And the road has been too long,

And you think that love is only

For the lucky and the strong,

Just remember in the winter

Far beneath the bitter snows

Lies the seed that with the sun's love

In the spring becomes the rose.

As she finished singing, the kids all stood up cheering and clapping. "Okay guys, well I think we should do a group number to break us all in."

GOD HELP THE OUTCAST

Calliope sat in the seats in the auditorium as the centre spotlight came up on Ariel Shubert.

People Like Us by Kelly Clarkson

Performed by The Kingdom Hearts

Ariel:

We come into this world unknown

But know that we are not alone

They try and knock us down

But change is coming, it's our time now

Snow:

Hey… everybody loses it,

Everybody wants to throw it all away sometimes

And hey… yeah I know what you're going through

Don't let it get the best of you, you'll make it out alive

Oh

Ariel and Snow:

People like us, we've gotta stick together

Keep your head up, nothing lasts forever

Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten

It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom

Girls:

Oh whoa oh oh whoa oh

We are all misfits living in a world on fire

Oh whoa oh oh whoa oh

Sing it for the people like us, the people like us

Ella:

Hey, this is not a funeral

It's a revolution, after all your tears have turned to rage

Just wait, everything will be okay

Even when you're feeling like it's going down in flames

Oh

Belle and Ella:

People like us, we've gotta stick together

Keep your head up nothing lasts forever

Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten

It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom

Boys:

Oh whoa oh oh whoa oh

We are all misfits living in a world on fire

Oh whoa oh oh whoa oh

Sing it for the people like us, the people like us

Fletcher and Peter:

Oh whoa oh oh whoa oh

You've just gotta turn it up loud when the flames get higher

Oh whoa oh oh whoa oh

Sing it for the people like us, the people like us

Teresa:

They can't do nothing to you, they can't do nothing to me

This is the life that we choose, this is the life that we bleed

Belle:

So throw your fists in the air, come out, come out if you dare

Tonight we're gonna change forever

David:

Everybody loses it, everybody wants to throw it all away sometimes

Oh

Snow:

People like us, we've gotta stick together

Ariel:

Keep your head up nothing lasts forever

Fletcher:

Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten

Ariel:

the people like us

"Guys, that was amazing. But we need to get at least another four people for us to qualify for competitions. But if you keep up the good work, we'll be able to get four more members, if not more. And more than that, I think we could win." Calliope said as everyone on stage hugged on stage.
