AN: Yes I know, it's been a while. real life and other things got in the way plus I ran out of inspiration for this. So I finally went back in and decided to finish this. So yes the end is coming! No beta, thanks for reading.
Kol was driving with Rebekah next to him. They were suppose to find Damon and bring him back. They knew their brother would lash out on them if they didn't return with Damon.
"Nik has gone bloody mad" Rebekah said
"I agree, all over a human. Though I always thought he had a thing for brunettes"
"I suppose he feels something towards her for releasing him"
"Do you honestly think our brother likes this human, more than just an infatuation?"
"He turned her, he obviously feels something for her"
Kol suddenly turned around and pulled into parking lot.
"Kol, what are you doing?!" Rebekah yelled
Kol flashed out and Rebekah sighed as she got out of the car. They were at a diner, and Kol was no where to be found.
Bonnie was walking to her car holding a large box of pie. She was on the phone with her father.
"Yes dad, I picked up the pie. Yes it's still warm." Bonnie said taking her keys out
"Hello darling" Kol said from behind
Bonnie spun around and saw Kol. She dropped the box. Kol caught it and smiled.
"I have to go dad" Bonnie said as she hung up, "Give that back"
"Nice to see you too" Kol said
"I don't want any trouble"
"You seem to attract it"
Bonnie opened the door to the car and got in. Kol was sitting next to her holding the pie. Bonnie screamed.
"Look, I don't know anything! I just want to go home!" Bonnie said
"I would never hurt something so beautiful"
"Kol stop playing with your food!" Rebekah yelled from the front of the car
Kol groaned inwardly. Bonnie looked at the blonde standing in front of his car.
"Girlfriend?" Bonnie asked
"Annoying sister actually"
"We don't have time for this! We have to find Damon" Rebekah yelled
"What do you want with Damon?" Bonnie asked
"You know Damon?" Kol asked
Caroline lay her head on Klaus's chest. She could hear his heart beating and feel how warm he was. Klaus's hand trailed down her arm and he pushed her back onto the bed. His hand found the familiar spot on her chest, but now there was no heartbeat.
"I'm really dead aren't I?" Caroline asked
"Yes. But you are immortal. You will have a thousand more birthdays if you want. So many more adventures. All you have to do is ask"
"I don't want to die"
"Then you won't"
Klaus reached up and pushed her hair aside. He leaned down and kissed her neck.
"You are free from trivial human restraints now" Klaus said
"Why does everything feel so…"
"It comes with being a vampire, everything is intensified"
"I don't think I can do this"
"Of course you can. You just need to complete the transition. And the world is yours"
Matt and Elijah returned to the cabin. Elijah heard movement in the bedroom. Klaus walked out with Caroline behind him, wearing his shirt.
"Matt!" Caroline flashed over to Matt
"Hey Care" Matt said
Caroline hugged Matt, holding him tightly. Her shirt rode up and Klaus growled. He flashed over and pulled her shirt down.
"I'm glad you're ok Care" Matt said
Caroline could hear the blood pumping through his veins. She could hear it calling out to her. Her mouth was right next to his neck. Something came over her and she bit down on his neck hard.
"Caroline!" Matt yelled
His blood burst into her mouth and she tried to drink greedily. Klaus pulled her off. Matt held his neck and backed away from her. With blood on her mouth and chin Caroline didn't realize what had happened. She looked at Matt who was afraid of her.
"What happened? What did I do?" Caroline asked
"You bit him" Klaus said
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry Matt!" Caroline said
"Elijah remove him from here for his own safety" Klaus said
"I'm a monster" Caroline started to cry
"No, you're not" Klaus said
Klaus pulled her closer and let her cry on his shoulder.
"You're not a monster"
Kol walked back to the cabin with a pie in hand and holding onto Bonnie. Rebekah was behind him. They walked into the cabin and sat down. Kol opened the box and started to slice the pie.
"Nik where are you?!" Rebekah yelled
"Why am I here?" Bonnie asked
"Where are my manners? Would you like some pie?" Kol asked
"That pie is for my dad" Bonnie said
"Yes well you can have a slice" Kol said
Klaus walked out with a towel around his waist.
"What is with all the yelling?" Klaus asked
"Pie?" Kol asked
"Who the hell is this?" Klaus asked
"She's a witch, she knows where Damon is" Kol said
Caroline woke up alone in bed. She opened her eyes slowly and things looked brighter. She looked around the room. She could hear people talking, she heard their voices. She got out of bed slowly. She pulled on one of Klaus's shirts and walked outside. She saw Klaus holding his head in pain and Bonnie looking at him.
"I told you she was a witch" Kol said
Bonnie stopped and Klaus shook his head.
"I told you, I don't know where Damon is. Only that he ran off" Bonnie said
"Are you protecting him?" Klaus asked
"No, Believe me, I want Damon dead as the next person. He literally ran off and no one's heard from him in a while" Bonnie said
"Is that pie?" Caroline asked
"Sweetheart" Klaus said walking towards her
"It is" Kol said
Caroline flashed over and stumbled a bit.
"How did I do that?" Caroline asked
"She turned" Rebekah said
"Of course she did" Klaus said
Caroline took a slice of pie and started to eat it. There was something off about the taste of it.
"This doesn't taste right" Caroline said
"You just turned, your body's still changing, the pie tastes fine. I assure you" Kol said
Matt sat in his car with a bandage on his neck. He slept in his car and stretched his arms. He looked at the bandage in the mirror. Caroline had bitten him, she had lost control and bitten him. And for the first time he was afraid of her, afraid of what she might do.
"She's inside the house, she cannot come out" Elijah said
Matt jumped when Elijah appeared next to his window.
"I'm never going to get used to that" Matt said
"She has no daylight ring, she is trapped indoors, for now"
"Why the hell should I help you" Bonnie asked
"Because we'll let you go on your merry way if you do this for us" Klaus said
"I can leave just fine on my own" Bonnie said
"I don't doubt that" Klaus said
"Can we keep her?" Kol asked
"Keep him away from me for the rest of my life and I'll do it" Bonnie said
"Done" Klaus said
"Hey!" Kol yelled
"I need a ring" Bonnie said
Caroline sat in the room, acutely aware of everything that was happening inside the house. She heard someone walk up to the window.
"Care, are you there?" Matt asked
Caroline flashed to the window. She stood there and moved closer to it. The curtain blocked out the sun, and she was careful to avoid it.
"Matt?" Caroline said
"Hey, you're there. They told me you were stuck inside cause of the sun"
"Matt! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bite you! I don't know what came over me!"
"I know, I know you wouldn't ever hurt me on purpose"
"I"m sorry!"
"It's ok"
"But if Klaus wasn't there to stop me, I could have killed you"
"But you didn't. You'll get better at this like you always do. You're good at everything"
"Except physics"
"And that's why you have me"
"Do I?"
"Are you going to replace me with Klaus?"
"No, who else is going to help me dig up bodies in crypts?"
"Thought so. I know you can do this Care. They'll help you, I'll help you"
"What if I'm really bad at this? What if this is my physics?"
"Then we'll find you a hot intern to help you then"
Matt pressed his hand against the glass of the window. Caroline could see the outline of it. She pressed her hand against the curtain against the glass.
"Thanks Matt"
"There's your ring, I'm leaving" Bonnie said as she closed the book
"You can show yourself out" Klaus said picking the ring up
Bonnie grabbed her jacket and headed out of the cabin. She walked towards her car only to be stopped when Kol flashed in front of her.
"Leaving without saying goodbye? How rude" Kol said
"Bye" Bonnie said walking past him
"Why are you denying yourself"
"I'm not"
Bonnie reached the door of her car and reached to open it. Kol flashed behind her, grabbed her by the hips and turned her around.
"Then tell me you feel absolutely no attraction towards me" Kol said
"I don't feel anything for you except disgust"
"Liar"
Kol dipped his head down and kissed her. His hands still on her hips he pressed her against the car. Bonnie kissed him back, her hands reaching into his hair. Bonnie pushed him away gasping for air.
"Call me" Bonnie said as she pushed him off her
Klaus looked at the ring he was holding. It was an ordinary ring that the found. They needed something she could wear and they weren't picky. He would find a better ring and find another witch to spell it for her. He walked into the room and found Caroline surrounded by maps and atlases.
"Sweetheart?" Klaus asked
"I've been thinking of all the places that I haven't been yet. And I'm making a list of places I want to explore but were too dangerous. So I've mapped it all out, and made a route so we'll be efficient and won't waste time doing so. And then-"
"Slow down, you have plenty of time. I have something for you"
"What? Is it more pie?"
"No love. It's your daylight ring"
"What?"
Klaus handed the ring to her. Caroline looked at it and squinted.
"i thought it would be special, or look special. This looks like the ring you got out of those bubble machines"
"We didn't have a lot of options so this was the ring we found. I can get you a better ring later"
"So how does this work?"
"You put it on your finger and it let's you walk in the sun. But you can't ever take it off, unless you want to be burnt into ash"
"That's it?"
Caroline put the ring on her finger and looked at it.
"How do you know if this works or not?" Caroline asked
"Come with me" Klaus extended his hand out to her
Caroline took it and followed him down the hallway. They reached the door and he felt her tug on his hand.
"Trust me" Klaus said
The door opened and Caroline covered her eyes from the brightness of the sun. Her eyes adjusted and she followed Klaus outside. She could see everything, smell everything, she heard the birds singing, the bees buzzing around and then the sound of a human heart. She turned and saw Matt standing by his truck.
"Hey Care" Matt said
"Matt!" Caroline flashed over to him
"I'm never going to get used to that" Matt said
Caroline hugged him and lifted him off the ground.
"Too much!" Matt choked out
"Oh sorry!" Caroline said as she put him down
"I see you got a hall pass" Matt said
"Yeah, this is really weird"
"But you're in the sun again"
"Yeah, and I totally mapped out everything for us. I know where we should start, and you don't have to worry about anyone trying to kill us cause now you know I'm like-"
"You were just going to run off without me?" Klaus asked
"No, I mean, I just got so excited, and there are so many places I want to. And Matt's my best friend and is that a hummingbird?" Caroline said as she flashed off
Klaus merely smirked and flashed after her. He found her watching the hummingbird feed from a plant. Klaus appeared behind her.
"I'm still not used to this" Caroline said
"You have all the time in the world"
"Will you come with me?"
"Of course, I didn't turn you just to have you leave me"
"Everything's different now. It's like I can hear everything but that pie was totally off"
"Then we'll get you another one"
"Thank you for saving me"
"You are the only thing in the world worth saving"
Caroline slipped her hand into his.
"Then let's go see what the world has to offer" Caroline said
