When I woke next morning I wanted to make sure that Jake coming back wasn't a dream. I could hear him snoring, even after 18 months of not seeing him, I would never get tired of haring that. I got out of the bed and went downstairs I saw my dad reading the newspaper. I laughed to myself because isn't that what old people do. Haha he is already getting old. I sat down next to him and hugged him.
"What was that for baby girl." He asked
"I just wanted to say thank you for bringing Jake home safely." I said.
"Well your welcome, I knew how much you missed him and how happy your were when you were talking to him on the phone. I just wanted to make you happy again and I know its been tough with your mom and grandparents dying and then moving here." he said
I can't believe he actually said that so he really does care. I was even mean to him.
"Thanks daddy that means a lot to me" I said while I hugged him. I could feel tears coming of the thought of my mom and grandparents. We stayed like that for a few moments till we heard someone come downstairs
We looked up and saw that it was Stephanie with their kids. Even though Steph didn't mean any harm, I just didn't like her. I know she is tying to be a mother figure but I didn't want one, even though she died. I still don't want a replacement so.
"Hey Honey" she said while giving him a peck on the lips. The kids went of playing or watching t.v.
"Hey" He replied.
"So Isabelle I have been meaning to ask you do you want to go on the road with your father and do the online classes or do you want to say here and go to a High School?" she asked
"Does this High School have a soccer team"
"Yes"
"Ok then I want to go to High School." I said
"Ok then I will enroll you. You should start next Monday"
It was actually around soccer season right now and I do miss it right now. I've been playing since I was 4. My mom taught me how to play, she was my coach and everything. I made Varsity my freshman year and been on the team until I left. I just hope that I would still be on Varsity this year. Soon it was time for Breakfast and we ate breakfast burritos. When that was over my dad went upstairs to do something.
He came back down with a suitcase and other bags in his hands.
"Hey dad, where are you going." I asked
"We are heading Philadelphia for WWE."
"Oh how long are you going to be gone?"
"Two weeks."
"Oh ok."
I went upstairs to see my brother still asleep. I shook my head and laughed softly to myself. He was always like this when we were kids.
"Hey Jake wake up." I said
"Ugh leave me alone." he said
"Jake wake up now."
"Fine, fine. You know I was having a fantastic sleep right?" he asked
"Yeah so."
"Ok well I'm gonna go get ready." he said while he was walking into the bathroom.
About five minutes later he came out dressed.
"So what do you want to do today?" he asked
"Anything I don't care." I said
"Ok then."
We spent the whole day together doing anything we wanted to do. It was the most fun I have had since I got here.
"So are you going to do soccer?" he asked
"Yeah." I replied back
"Do you still plan on going to the Olympics after High School?"
"Yep hopefully I will and make Mom proud." My mom has always encouraged me to follow my dreams in anything I want to do.
"I'm sure Mom would be proud of you even if you didn't make it."
"Yeah, but I want to go to the Olympics and play for her. I want to tell everybody who was the one who taught me everything I know about soccer today."
"Ok, you do that and I'm sure she is going to be smiling up in heaven when you do."
"Thank you."
"So do you have a new girlfriend that you want to tell me."
"Uhh no."
"Every time I ask a girl they find out what I do and they run off." he said
"Don't worry you will find the perfect girl." I said
"Thanks sis"
"No problem bro."
"So do you want to go eat somewhere?" he asked
"Umm sure but I don't know anywhere good to eat."
"We will find a place to eat."
We found this Italian place to eat. We got seated and both ordered Dr. Pepper. He chose Chicken Alfredo and I got chicken parmesan.
"So how are Aiden and Cade?" I asked him about his friends who are also in the army
"They are good they told me to tell you hi."
"Well tell them I said hi and to be safe too."
"I will do."
Our food finally came and we ate and talked to.
"You know Isa, I know you don't like Stephanie but you need to give her a chance. This is also hard on her having to raise her husbands ex-wife's daughter." he said
"I know I just don't want her to replace Mom."
"She won't, she is just trying to let you know that you could always go to her when you need a mother figure. Like when you are going to get married who is gonna help you get ready and everything."
"You don't think I know that." Me and Mom always talked how she would help me on my wedding day and now she can't
"Look sis all I am saying is that you should try and give Stephanie a chance."
"ok I will think about it ok?''
"Ok that is all I am saying."
We talked some more before going back to the house.
