Document 5: Raeka Murray

Raeka was finding herself in a very awkward situation. One moment, she was in her sisters's room, cleaning up their toys and making sure that the room was clean before they got back from grocery shopping with her mother. The next moment, however, was very strange, freaky, and a very big surprise for her. She suddenly dropped out from the floor and landed in a tree. How did one end up in a tree outside when one was inside beforehand besides walking out of the house? This thought kept buzzing around in her head as she surveyed her surroundings. They looked nothing like she recognized, but at least she could tell that there was a small desk in one corner of the room with a chair. There also seemed to be some books sitting on top of the desk, but she could not accurately tell from her position on the bed on the other side of the room. She let out a soft sigh and laid back down, her auburn-colored hair falling across the pillow.

There were many questions buzzing through her mind like a swarm of angry bees, but there was one that stood out amongst them; where was she?! She did not recognize where she was because many of the objects in the room looked like they were from a foreign country. Chinese, perhaps? She didn't know. However, she did remember that she studied some about China while in history class in middle school. She wanted to know horrifically where she was, but she was being presented with a few problems; she didn't know the layout of the place she was currently in, she didn't know anyone in here or if there were even people in the place or not, and she didn't know what language they were going to speak. Sure, she had taken a few Spanish classes and even took some Latin classes, but like those were going to help her now. She clenched the sheets underneath her in frustration and stared up at the ceiling with an annoyed look staining her features. What was she going to do next? What was her next move?

She suddenly sat up, still gripping the sheets tightly. I need to conduct an investigation of this place! If I find out about this place, I'll be able to determine what my next move is! Yes! Then probably I'm getting myself out of here! She smiled to herself at coming up with the plan. She loosened her grip on the sheets and eventually her hands removed themselves from them. She threw her legs over the edge, placed them on the floor, and almost jumped out of the bed. She walked to the door, despite how badly she wanted to run up to it. She opened the door, crept out, and shut it behind her as quietly as she could. She then started to walk down the hallway, fascinated by what she was seeing. Whoever designed this has my respect, most definitely. I love the detail they put into these designs, especially with the tigers. I swear, they almost seem…lifelike. She came across another door soon afterward, nearly slamming into it. She inwardly cursed herself for not paying more attention to where she was going and opened the door. What she saw before her was enough to shock anyone.

She was staring at a black-haired individual whose skin was almost, if not paler than her own. Their eyes were a shade of brown that one would find in a tea cup and, for some reason or another, her eyes had locked onto them, unable to look away. The person seemed to notice this because they tilted their head to the side some and spoke in a soft voice,

"Are you alright?" Raeka nearly jumped in fright when she heard them talk. Had she actually been staring at them? How rude of her! She tried to talk, but all that came out were pieces of words. Inside her head, she was cursing herself like never before. What the heck are you doing, Raeka?! You're stuttering in front of someone that you don't even know! What is wrong with you?! You're better than this! You can talk to people in your hometown, even if you don't know them, like they're a long lost friend! Why can't you do it here?! Oh, you big moron! Snap out of it and start talking normally! The male standing in front of her noticed the change of expressions on her face and leaned forward a bit. This action made Raeka even more anxious because she suddenly stopped trying to talk and simply stared at the person in front of her. The person saw this and grew concerned.

"I didn't frighten you, did I?"

"…A little bit, I will admit." Raeka replied after some time. The male seemed a bit hurt by her response and straightened himself up so he wasn't in her face. He brushed his clothes, like there was dust upon them. He then looked her in the eyes and she noticed this. She put her hands behind her back and grabbed her right forearm with her left hand. She was wondering what he was thinking, since a dense silence had settled in between them. It was beginning to bug her, but her slight annoyance was interrupted when he spoke,

"I apologize for scaring you. It's just that I've never seen you before."

"I'm sorry about that. I simply don't know where I am."

"You mean that you're here without knowing where you are?" Raeka nodded, a bit embarrassed about it.

"Can you tell me where I am, sir?" She asked in a softer voice than normal.

"You're in the kingdom of Wu." Raeka was baffled by this. What did he mean by what he said? She scratched her head for a few seconds before speaking,

"What do you mean by that? What country am I in?"

"You're in China."

"C-c-china?! How did I wind up here?!"

"You mean you don't remember how you got here?" Raeka shook her head and the man sighed softly. She grew a bit ashamed of her answer and averted her eyes away. He noticed this and grew worried.

"Why we don't we go back to your room and chat for a little bit? Make more sense of your situation?"

"Sure. Let's go with it." He nodded and motioned for her to follow. She began walking behind him, having to quicken her pace a little to simply keep up with him. They went through the hallway quickly and reached the room where Raeka had woken up in not too long ago in less than a minute. The man opened the door and Raeka followed him inside. The two of them went over to the bed and sat on the edge. Raeka examined the man more closely and noticed that he has a similar body build to her own; slender and lean and not much muscle. But she knew that looks could be deceiving. She crossed one leg over the other and looked at him with her sky blue eyes.

"I want to ask you a question; what is your name?" She asked.

"My name is Zhou Yu, sworn brother of Sun Ce." Raeka smiled a bit when he answered. How he said made it seem so…smooth. She nodded and decided to introduce herself,

"I'm Raeka Murray. Call me by my first name. I would prefer that."

"Raeka…such a strange sounding name."

"That's not going to be a problem, is it?"

"No, not at all."

"That's good. I don't like causing people discomfort when they first meet me. I want them to feel comfortable around me. It's just a thing with me."

"There's no problem with that. It's only natural."

"It's good that you understand me. Now, I need to ask you another question. Why did you bring me into your place and not just leave me in the outside world?"

"That is simply not the way we work. We don't simply leave people out there to die if we can still save them. And that is why we saved you. We believed that we could still save you, since you were still alive and barely injured, minus a couple bruises and scratches."

"Well, thank you…" Zhou Yu smiled a bit when she said that. Sure, he had heard it quite a few times before, but it always felt good to hear someone say it and mean it. She noticed the sudden smile on his face and couldn't help but smile herself. Hopefully I can learn everything about my little situation from him. Then I can find a way to get out of here! She knew that she would need much more information if she was ever going to figure out where she was and how to cope with her problem…

I will admit, putting up this chapter took longer than I thought. I've been busy with school and finals as of late. However, I will be able to put up chapters more frequently once I have more time. Be on the lookout for the sixth chapter, revealing the final person from the future!
